What I would hope to see is the therapist REFRAIN from saying master bedroom! It's telling that your network isn't in tune with the sensitivity of this term. It's outdated! The term is primary bedroom. The Entire real estate community has already shifted. Catch up! Thank you!

Why would she think he would do her taxes free? She knew or should have known there was a charge.
What he needs to do is give back that money and go in and amend her tax return so she can pay the Irs back everything she got. I'd get her right back to that $700, and then she wouldn't have to worry about the fee he charged.
sounds like he did the taxes initially as under the guise of a favor to helping Alexis with the taxes, but then flipped the script and charged the sister. It's not the money, it's the principal. He was slick about it, it seems.
I do taxes as well. I do them for my family and my spouse's family. He should have clarified that there would be a charge. He should have made sure she understood her States/federal tax breakdown and his fee.

Her mom is so dramatic, “did I fail you”? No, she is grown and making her own choices. She has to learn through her own experience. I have 5 brothers and one sister and everyone is so different and we grew up in the same house. I have 3 children and again they are all different growing up in the same house. I have one who is lazy and all over the place, I have one who is straight forward and everything is black and white, my last is a girl and she is hood, now where she got that from I don’t know because everyone is just as proper and well spoken. So I don’t think I’ve failed any of them they just have their own thoughts and going through there own experiences.
I loved the improv exercise. It really helped them to let their guards down.

I’m still watching but as a successful business owner I HATE doing business with family they absolutely are entitled and the most unprofessional to work with. He should have told her the fees upfront before even preparing her taxes. The mother was straight forward and disrespectful I can’t deal. I’ll be back with my update.

For those not understanding the taxes issue: the service was presented as FREE initially. Then without knowledge it seems, Akil started doing them and then finished the service by charging for it. But not only that, he already took the money from the return. I don’t care if he got $1 million more. The agreement was the service would be free. And then it changed. The sister could really sue him for the service fee he took because the agreement was not between them
RIGHT! She also didn’t have the opportunity to ask questions, like why did the return increase so much? She may not have wanted him to do anything to increase her return that could possibly get her in trouble later.
Exactly! He took the money without advising her first. Not even Turbo Tax takes the money for the service without advising you first.
Well that’s a problem she should take up with her sister who had him to take over. That’s not his fault! Yet why are you mad you gave $500 when you still got $2500 and you would’ve only got $700. Let’s be real!
If the sister wants to take it that route by suing him then he can also cause her legal trouble by amending those taxes and then she would have to deal with the irs.

I would’ve gladly paid him but I think it was the fact that he didn’t tell her before he filed that he was getting her more and that if he filed he was charging a certain amount. It was a breakdown in communication that’s all.
Exactly that is the sisters fault because she didn’t tell her. She got an invoice. Not only that I’ve never been to a tax preparer who gave me the price upfront, because they have to see what the end will be. That’s why I do my own taxes, maybe she should learn so she won’t be crying about someone getting her more money and wanting to be paid for their work.

We understand he did her taxes but he supposed to tell her upfront about any fees that will be charged in order for her to make the decision to move forward and pay him or for him to cancel everything and find another way . I would like to see an update from this Couple & their Families. Yes, there were a few red and pink flags on both sides, but there was also shades of Green too. I believe both Families have assets that the other sides can benefit from, creating a balance of energy they all need and want. Alexis and Akil are good people, they just have a few rough spots ... Which we all do. I actually hope they are still working things out, and if they are no longer together I hope they walked away from each other peacefully. But I actually like them and their families, take away the miscommunication and misunderstandings and you have a bunch of Good People who really want to share the Love they have in their Hearts. That is what I actually see.

I really like his Aunt and his sister. I think his sister came off so hard because she didn’t like the way Alexis family was treating her brother and I get it. Akil seems like a decent guy who is a little rough around the edges but the fact that he apologized to her mom and is willing to do the work to make it works speaks volumes about his character. Alexis disposition towards Akil seems to shift when her family is around. Just my opinion, I do pray they are able to work everything out.
