  • In May 2015 three of us spent a few days in the Peak District motorcycling. Traveling from St Ives in Cambridgeshire to Chesterfield on day 1 of the trip and staying overnight in a Wetherspoon's Hotel. Day 2 was spent finding a loop round the Peak district which took in Snake Road, the A537 to Macclesfield and the infamous Cat & Fiddle pub, Buxton, Ashbourne and finally returning to Chesterfield. Terrible weather slowed the ride down and made for not best trip we've ever had. On the plus side our return ride on Day 3 was excellent.

I enjoyed that mate, good footage, great audio and clear details, without the annoying loud music, well done Tim.

Gr8 vid. Thanks. BTW Ever-increasing speed enforcement forced me to stop fighting a losing battle and downsize to a 350. I in fact have a lot more fun than madly frustratingly trundling along on a fazer thou.

Thats how you make a bike trip video, low gentle background music and good clear and interesting commentary. Well done Tim, enjoyed your Ireland vid too.

I went there with some friends as well, and the weather was more enjoyable. You need something like 3 days to enjoy everything.
    Very well made video!!
    Ride safe.

Miguel, there is a ride tomorrow (2/6/16) that you can attend if your anywhere near Cambridge. Its only a short ride but there will be hundreds of motorcycles there. Visit this link for info:

Its the AMRR, a ride from Cambridge services to Madingley Amercian War Cemetery in Cambridge. Should be a good day out.

Very enjoyable video, well made with an almost professional voiceover.I know the Peaks well, the weather is somewhat unpredictable but for me,that makes it all the more enjoyable. As regards the 50mph average speed cameras on the C and F,the road is not dangerous,it's the kids with no experience on sports bikes they can't handle that give the road it's undeserved reputation.I am in favour of these cameras on this road.Ok,it spoils it somewhat for experienced bikers but it does save lives.

Very valid point Brian and thanks. I have been back up there early last year with a view to doing another video but the weather was even worse unfortunately, I do pick my times. Managed to wind my way up through thick fog only to find the Cat & Fiddle had gone out of business, real shame. I wonder if anyones re-opened t yet?
