I was to lazy to look for the location of the bolt.. Thanks for showing us.. short sweet and to the point!
Lol! No problem. Haha I do the same thing. Sure makes things easier when you go to do the job. Better than a Haynes manual 👍🏻
I'm still a pretty new driver, but I figured that changing my own oil would be helpful in the long run, thanks for showing me how!
You're welcome. Yes it's a great skill to have. Will help you save some money and better quality work 👍
Best DIY video I’ve ever seen so swift to the point and user friendly man keep it up.
Thank you! Glad I could help 👍
Great video, quick and straight forward. 👌🏾 Thanks!
You're welcome, glad it was helpful 😀👍🏻
Great Video. Made oil change simple. Thank you.
You're welcome 👍🏻
Damn... super easy to change by yourself. And it saves money. Thanks dude!
You're welcome 👍🏻
I just paid $45 for the same oil, filter and a new air filter. I think my local guy charges like $50 for the oil change. I doubt he uses full synthetic and I have the satisfaction of doing it myself and knowing it got done. I also reset the oil and filter warnings in the car. Easy stuff once you know how.
Quick & straight to the point... good shit
Glad to help 👍🏻
Fast and easy video. Loved it
Happy to help! 👍
Wow I wish i knew it was this easy, would have saved myself lots of money. Thank you for the tutorial 🙏🙏
You’re welcome, bettwr late than never! 👍🏻

You're welcome, yeah its pretty easy on this car 😀👍🏻
Thanks !! Really appreciate.
You're welcome 👍🏻
Finally someone who explains it right
Thanks! 😀
*Awesome. Thank you!*
You're welcome, glad I could help! 👍
Great video dude really helped me save a bunch as I just bought my first toolkit. What do you do with the oil once you drain it though?
Thanks, glad it helped you out. Local auto parts places like Autozone, Pepboys, Oreillys will recycle it for free as well as municipal city hazardous waste facilities 👍🏻
Yes, auto parts store takes it for free. I usually store several used containers of oil outdoors, then rid them all at once. I once put an ad for free used oil and had some guy pick it up. Apparently he has a shop that he can heat with old oil. Also. I think some guys can make biodiesel fuel out of old oil
Nice video. Informative.
I thought you would have used OW 20 though.
Thanks, that year called for 5w-30, I know the newer models call for thinner. Itll be on oil cap which oil car takes
@@JonnyDIY apparently, you did the right thing... this guy breaks down oil numbers. 0w-20 is crap if you read the comments
ruclips.net/video/IKdhgKUZhPA/видео.html
Fast and easy. Lol thanks bro
No problem 😁👍🏻
QUESTION, rule of thumb I have constantly read is change full synthetic every 5000 miles .
HOWEVER if you check the oil and it looks decently clean and it's been 5000 miles does it still make sense to change the oil even though it's reached the 5000 mile mark???
I usually do 5 to 10k for full synthetic. Closer to 5k if lot of city miles closer to 10k if lots of highway driving 👍
@@JonnyDIY that's interesting, what reason do you do it one way highway or short drives if u don't mind me asking??!
@@MOAON_AABE short drives are a lot harder on oil , especially ones where it never really gets up to full operating temperatures. Also idling is hard on oil and that isn't accounted for in odometer mileage. Highway miles are much less wear because engine is usually just humming along at a constant speed and at optimum temperature.
Why have I been paying 60$ for this
haha right!? Can do it yourself with synthetic oil for $25-30 if you get oil on sale or use Walmart supertech 👍🏻
My thoughts exactly!!
thanks for helping lol
Youre very welcome. Hope it helped 😀👍
Great video. Anybody know why he’s using 5w-30 instead of 0w-20?
Thanks. That year I was working on called for 5w-30, newer models I'm sure use the 0w-20 👍
@@JonnyDIY just changed my own oil and filter for the first time today. Your vid helped tremendously. Thanks.
@@luisdavidperez5076 Nice job! 👍You're welcome, happy I could help you get it done 👍
Could somebody help me I've been trying to change my oil for three days. This video helps BUT my belt will not unscrew. My filter will NOT unscrew.
Sorry to hear you've been stuck. The oil filters can get really stuck tight on their overtime or from the previous installer overtightening. Go by your local auto parts store and tell them you need an oil filter socket wrench for your specific car. Then you'll be able to get the filter off easily 👍🏻
@@JonnyDIY Thank you so much for responding. I will be going tomorrow.
How do you build your own ramps
I made a video when showing how. Here you go 👍
ruclips.net/video/rQOIQVffO8o/видео.htmlsi=2u-h5fcjVU1OQXx3
How miles are you changing your oil? I just bought a 2018 today. 4 cylinder
If I use full synthetic 6-8K miles depending how much city miles. If regular oil 4-6K
@@JonnyDIY I will be driving 120 miles a day for work. Bought the car for highway mainly only. All highway or interstate. What you recommend?
Ohh thats great, then you could push the interval to between 8-10K miles on Full Synthetic with a quality oil filter rated for high mileage 👍🏻
Worry about the transmission oil the most, haha. These suckers go bad a lot. They say their non serviceable but that's horse crap. Put your flat screwdriver into plastic clip and pop that cap off. Drain that oil every 36,000 from all my videos I've seen the oil comes out nasty too. I've read hundreds of stories and complaints of these transmission s failing one to three times each in less then 100,000 miles.ps don't forget the transmission oil filter as well.
@@JonnyDIY full synthetic and quality filter (filter is what goes first). I recommend about 7000 miles. Anything more is too much
One more thing... How do I reset the Oil Maintenance light on my dashboard...?
Sorry I don't have a video but here's one I found.
ruclips.net/video/pKIio_Rw254/видео.htmlsi=iYXFtAE8NhF6a96-
Very good...! I won't have to pay $91.00 for an oil chance now, I will do DIY in my driveway for $55.00 oil & filter...@@JonnyDIY
@@ThomasDeLello glad I could help you save some money and do it yourself 👍
@@JonnyDIY It is an easy enough thing to do... and I will.
How may liters u put in
5 quarts oil, not sure of conversion to liters
Idk how this popped up on my recommended but I’m not mad lol. Also that is a 4cyl my friend.
Yeah I should have taken beauty cover off. Owner told me it was a 6 cyl lol
Does this work for the 2.5s?
Yes just adjust the oil capacity 👍
@@JonnyDIY okay thank you
@@rondosuave with filter takes just under 5 quarts 👍
@@JonnyDIY okay sounds good, you’re a life saver bro🤟🏾
I wonder if this applies for 2019 Altima
I think they changed motors in 2019 finally, but if you scooch under im sure youll see the drain plug and oil filter. Then just check oil cap for grade of oil and car manual for oil capacity. Probably 5 quarts
Jonny DIY thanks man
Again all these Jonny oil changes need to explain to watch and clean oil spilling from oil filter into the bar there
Yes make sure you've got a large oil drain pan or bucket
I saw another video of a guy taking off the wheel and the shield? I guess that isn’t necessary?
Not necessary, you can reach around shield, may have to pop one clip loose
Jonny DIY Yup! Just got done with one that needed to be done! Thank you!
Given that your car is already jacked, it won’t be a big deal to take the tire and the side cover off-that’s what I did. Moreover, most filters don’t come out easy. You’ll need a filter cap with a driver for a ratchet in order to remove the filter-or some plier type of tool. I am a fairly strong guy, and I couldn’t twist the filter off.
2013 and beyond Nissan Altima uses 0W20, not 5W30.
Thank you for sharing 👍
I thought these call for 0w-20 and 4.8 quarts
The newest models probably take that. Check oil cap for oil grade and owner's manual should have grade and capacity 👍
I hate ...hate....hate... Where they put the filter.
Yeah its kinda a pain to get to and makes quite a mess. Ohh well, just put synthetic in so you dont have to worry about it for a longer time 😁🤙
@@JonnyDIY yea i just changd the oil for the first time on my 17 Altima i dont drive much..good video tho.
Thanks! ✌
Why does my car say Sae 20 oil and we have same car? Help lol
My guess is somebody replaced oil cap
Jonny DIY no my Manual says 20, so I’m lost lol I think because his is 6 and mines a 4 cylinder
4 cylinder is ow-20
I can’t get the damn oil plug off
Sometimes people tighten them down too much. Try a longer ratchet or pipe over ratchet for more leverage or hit end of a wrench with a hammer to loosen
Anq
Why you using synthetic oil, not required
Can go longer between oil changes and only a few bucks more
@@JonnyDIY change it every 5 kms why pay , more o difference, just laziness
@@mannyaraujo1 with synthetic can go 7-10K miles
It's a waste of oil. Only boomers do it every 3k miles.
I don't know who you're trying to kid but that's a four-cylinder. From the engine cover to the air intake to the heat shield on the front exhaust pipe, poser!
😆 it was my Uncle's car, and he said it was the V6 🤷♂️ my bad
Im here to find out what oil filter to use
