How to account for guests in your smart home automations!

When my guest mode turns on, it also turns on automation for my switches. I'm using Third Reality switches for my not-yet-smart-switches, and if someone manually turns one off, the automation waits 20 seconds (I don't want to embarrass any guests that might come over someday), then turns on the switch (which restores power to my lights) and then turns off the lights (since that was what the guest was trying to do).

Thank you! That's a great idea with the switches and bulbs, but it makes me wonder - why smart switches AND smart bulbs? Seems like just a smart switch would get it done? That's what I tried to do here was stay away from bulbs as much as possible since controlling them in a "dumb" fashion is... Challenging at best. I managed to only have 5 - two each in two floor lamps that have independent switches for each bulb (so I can't use a switch), and one for my desk lamp seen in the videos, because I wanted it blue. Lol
How are you doing guest mode? Is it automated like in the video based on your guest wifi, or some other mechanism?
