    If you are wondering if mobility scooters are compatible with Lithium Batteries, then this video is for you.
    Most mobility scooters can handle Lithium batteries as long as they are rated for 12 Volts. We recommend LifePo4 batteries which are the safest and longest lasting lithium batteries on the market. We offer Dakota Lithium batteries which come with a 11 year warranty.
    Be sure to check with your dealer or the manufacturer regarding your warranty. If you upgrade your batteries to lithium, it might void your warranty. Furthermore, some scooters are not able to handle the higher voltage that lithium batteries produce. Do not attempt to upgrade your batteries to lithium unless you are a technician. This can cause damage to your scooter and its very important that you follow the necessary steps to research the voltage limit of your scooter and the warranty.

    Hi Sergio been watching and learning a lot from your videos thank you! I’ve been very keen on the zero turn model but wanted to confirm whether the jazzy zero turn is the same as the zero turn 8? I’ve seen both here in the Uk and seen some that say jazzy zero turn 8 too. Sometimes they mix up the photos too so i’m confused if they’re the same or not

    I have 3-wheel Pride GoGo scooter and upgraded to lithium batteries. The process was not difficult. After the upgrade I found the throttle more responsive, the torque improved, the range increased and the scooter was able to go up inclines more easily. The lithium batteries are much lighter than the original batteries. However, I found this caused an unforeseen problem. With reduced battery weight the scooter is now more feels more unstable. Not to the point of being dangerous but I must be aware of that fact all the times. Ex: I used to be able travel across the grass in my front yard, now this is more difficult as the scooter is more tippy. The road in front of my house, which is on a small circle of houses so there is little traffic, there are places where the pavement is crowned to shed water. I try to avoid these areas as the scooter feels very unstable. I don’t want to go back to the original batteries but I find I must monitor the travel surface very closely. Quick turns use to not be a problem but now turns need to be planned. I do not know what the result would be with a 4-wheel scooter.

    • @MobilityDirect
      @MobilityDirect  Год назад +1

      That is quite interesting, I don't think we have ever heard of such a drastic difference in stability. I do think that the 4-wheel scooters won't have as much of a notable difference if any. Thank you for your comment and testimony, definitely be careful!

    • @tongmovies
      @tongmovies Год назад

      Tipping over is definitely an issue with the 3 wheel Go go scooter. My parents have tipped over several times. Fortunately they did not get hurt but are now afraid to drive it. I kind figured out the reason and the battery weight does affect the center of gravity. 4 wheels won’t tip. So 1. The rider hunches over too much will cause more weight to be in front and there be easier to tip n a turn, so forcing rider to sit as far back helps. Setting the steering wheel a bit back helped 2. The lower the seat, the better for center of gravity, I drilled holes on the seat post and cut it so that the seat is about an inch or so lower. 3 so yes, a lighter battery will make it worse- perhaps adding weight to it with bags of sand would help

I can't find anyone anywhere inn the world that can help me, I'm disabled and all I want to be able to do is get out of the town where I live and go camping, it probably sounds crazy but bring stuck to one place all the time gets me down.
    I'll add photos of the charger and inverter or maybe you can suggest something I could buy from you thanks for reading even if you can't help thanks Richard.

I went to use my scooter on a grassy patch of land during a New Year’s Eve 2023 light festival and it died right after I drove it a few yards. Knowing about lithium batteries like I do. They are pulse charged meaning they shut on and off on and off on and off while they're being charged at a high rate of speed to keep them from catching on fire. Now my next question is if the scooter has regenerative braking which is designed for lead acid battery. What's going to keep the batteries from becoming a big torch when you're going downhill
