@alexwang7098 Then choose the higher leather option... Not the MB-Tex... German vehicles are NOTORIOUS for options and they aren't fully loaded with what you get.
It's a luxury vehicle.. Of course it's going to be powered... In addition YOU DON'T buy a German vehicle for reliability, common sense especially a NEW vehicle, however covered under warranty. Only people who have money will not care about if it breaks well beyond warranty.
Mercedes is not the Mercedes it was 20+ years ago. Wouldn’t buy a Mercedes any day of the week now! Stick to BMW and Porsche, sure they don’t look as good as they did 15+ years ago, but they’re incredibly well built and are much more reliable
The leather on the back-roll seats is ridiculous. The headrest looks like they just slaughtered a cow right before the car finishes production, so they skip the whole processing, trim it in 5 minutes, put it on, and call it a day. The fit and finish is disgusting to look at.
I don't need the 3rd row - so a GLE580 for $25k less will be my pick! Surprisingly, the interior sounded solid - with little to no rattles or squeaks - and as you said, it has 4k journalist miles and I've watched enough car videos to know how they treat these poor cars lol. Also, I did hear that the transmission had some issues with rough shifts from 1st to 2nd or when throttling back on the power when the light turned green, but maybe Merc figured out the issue or you just got a good car? This review really helped me, thank you!
@@eriktinaj8741 Oh wow, Does it occur when driving slowly? Ex. coming up to a stop sign, not fully stopping, and then getting back on the gas? Or does it happen at any speed? Like, where/what speed is it most constant?
@@DreaminRides well, first off since I got the car it’s been having a rough 1st-2nd at low speeds but that seems to have just completely gone away. Light to medium application of the throttle from 2nd-3rd and sometimes 3rd-4th is jerky. It’s very smooth under a decent amount of throttle (ex. merging onto a highway from a stop). I believe for the next few hundred to a thousand miles, trans will be fully calibrated and will smooth out. Earlier today I was driving it and it was actually pretty good. I hope it’s just a matter of time until the trans fully learns what to do and stops getting confused bc again, it only has 814 miles.
what on earth has happened to those seats...... first off the leather looks so gross with that large grain and (especially the rear seats) the stitching is all crooked and like the leather is all bunched up. Not looking like a 100k+ car.
Fit and finish of Mercedes vehicles on CarWow’s reviews always rate BMW ahead of Mercedes. In fact even this 100k GLS model has videos showcasing issues with large panel gaps and misaligned exterior panels.
9:37 Those aren't different ways to use the infotainment. They're all exactly the same: swipe and touch controls. It's only one way, placed in different locations, which makes it pointless.
At least MB has kept its classy looks. Whereas BMWs look like Pontiac Aztecs and are so over engineered no one wants a BMW out of warranty. Benz has maintained aesthetics
That leather looks like its been horribly abused. The wheel design looks like some weird bat. The exterior design is boring too. What happened to Mercedes and BMW's over the past few years? The price has increased like crazy yet the quality seems to be going down and they don't look like anything special anymore.
After testing the EQS suv this week, what would you rather have, this or the eqs? Thank you for mentioning the running boards. The worst things ever. Half of what I wrote was about was the running boards and the steering wheel controls😂
This car is lease only (attractive hot garbage). Rather have the new Lexus GX. Less money and will still be driving when this car is long in the junkyard (or crusher). Modern Benz is not built to the same standards that we Genx'ers remember growing up in the late 70's and 80's.

Love how it doesn’t have that center iPad-style infotainment, looks way sleeker like that

I remember the previous 2020 vid the topher did on the gls580 with e-active body control, still think thats superior to regular airmatic
I wasn't sure about the refresh grille at first but I'm liking it now, it's kinda more reminiscent of the G-class
Odd that the airbag cover isn’t leather. Every facelifted GLS I’ve seen has had the leather cover like on the s class, even the base 450s.
