Channel locks. I'm not bashing on ya, bc I go blank on names all of the time! For a set of brand new, made in USA Craftsman tools, for $120, I'd say you did well! I know it's a 2yr old video. But even 5-8 years ago this would have been a good deal! Those 6 point deep wells are nice! Mine are rusted, gouged, and worn! They've been beaten on with a hammer, to knock bearings out, and used on an impact wrench, left in my truck box, etc. But they keep on ticking, like an old Timex! I'll give you $120 for that set of tools today, if you want your $ back! Lol!
You got a great deal on this box of tools. The slide on the first set of pliers is adjusted by pushing on the button. Those were made by Knipex for Craftsman would be my guess.
Those knipex type pliers run about $40-50(knipex brand) you got a great score. Nut drivers and the clear handle screw drivers look to be bootleg but all in all nice buy.
I think you did get a good deal. There sure were a lot of tools crammed into that box! I always check out newspapers that people use for packing as well 👍🏼 Thanks for sharing your unboxing MMM! Be safe.
@@denofearthundertheeverlast5138 Oh that's awesome! I actually have a Popular Mechanics socket wrench and tool set I use at times around the house. It's probably 25 years old. Thanks for watching! 🛠️
I tell you what............I have a Craftsman mechanics tool set of sockets with 3/8 & 1/4 ratchets I bought over 20 years ago when I got married, those tools I use all the time on my vehicles and they will outlast me......they're still in great shape and will likely pass them down to my son. I recently purchased on Ebay some older Craftsman VV & VA combo wrenches forged in the USA. There is something to be said about when tools were "Made in the USA"
My Craftsman tools will out live me I started buying them since I was 21 and now I will be 63 most of mine are Craftsman but anything I buy new will be snap-on. Theses tools will be passed on.
Most of this stuff is from ebay, although I have gotten items from the FB marketplace or Ace Hardware as well. I know some folks get Craftsman hauls at estate or garage sales as well. Thanks for watching!
WOW for a $120.00 you hit the jackpot, I have a lot of the old craftsman tools & love them. As you probably know the new craftsman is pure junk. I even have an old "probably around 40 years old" craftsman 3 blade pocket knife, made by Case.
Yeah getting this box was a great deal for sure! I do miss the ability to walk into a Sears and get anything from Craftsman Made in the USA. Thank for watching!

I think the jew V-series line looks terrific for anyone starting a new tool set to build out, and wants quality. Since I have an excellent set of older Craftsman in great shape, there's probably not much I'll invest in with the new line.
Clearly this was a "no brainer"... The hand riveters alone would get you more than 1/2 your money back if not damn near all. I use rivets pretty often and there is 1 manufacturer that I know of that is still producing a 100% U.S.A. made hand riveter and that's Malco, they go for between $84-$100. USA made 6 point metric deep sockets are the "holy grail sockets" for auto mechanics. They are ALWAYS in demand. I would guess you could 3-4x times your investment if you were to "piece it all out" individually.
Yeah this was an unusually good deal just as you mentioned. The cool thing is I'm using probably 80% of what I got which is awesome. Thanks for watching!
I hate to tell you but the very first number on the stock number. The smaller one is the department number. It tells the employees when ringing up the product it's telling them what department to ring it under.
The made in Germany pliers were made by Knipex for Sears. The USA made pliers were made by Western Forge for Sears. The letter is the date code. A is 1986 and work your way forward up to about 2018 (using double letters) and then Sears and WF had a falling out. WF was owned by Ideal Industries who owned S-K up until about the middle of last year. A Chinese concern bought Ideal. Before they did, you could look at the S-K pliers and these WF made Craftsmans and you'd see that they are virtual twins. The VV on the breaker bar means that Danaher (later Apex Tools) made it for Sears. I believe the "G2" on the sockets may denote "Gastonia" which is the part of NC where Danaher/Apex had a tool plant (since around 1978 or so) that made Craftsman sockets. I bought a similar "grab bag" box like that off Ebay and it was like this, almost all USA made Craftsman, some new, some lightly used.
Absolutely fantastic information and I appreciate it! If it was Gastonia that's awesome. This is the site I use, and referred to lots of places. G2 is Danaher throughout the years. Thanks for watching! www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/craftsman-hand-tool-manufacturers-date-ranges.84807/
@@TheEclecticHandyman Sure thing. Never been a GJ fan though. Alot of wrong info and keyboard commandos there. My WF info came from talking some long time employees before they closed up.
Very rarely use 11mm Can’t remember the application might be in a BMW… but it’s always a big deal when I grab my 11mm it’s used so seldom. I’ll make a mental note of the application.
I only had 2 tools ever from Craftsman fail me: 1 was a flat-head screwdriver and they immediately switched it out for free (old USA tool). The other was a late 90's 'Microtorque' torque wrench and it failed after about a year and was not able to be warrantied. After that, only Snap-on torque wrenches for me. Other than those 2 times, all my USA Craftsman tools have never failed. Thanks for watching! 🛠️
I like the collection. However, all my old plastic handle screwdrivers constantly get a frosty white powder-like coating. Clean it off and it just comes back after a few months. I think the material is breaking down because of age. It's a common problem. Are these going to do that at some point in the future or has the chemistry in the material changed now for the better?
To be honest I'm not sure and I know what you're talking about. I prefer my black handle Craftsman USA Professional screwdrivers as my go-to set and they obviously don't have that issue. I wanted to keep these ones because of their unique sizes compared to what I already have. Thanks for watching!
It's a good deal, but with Craftsman you have to pick and choose. A lot of Craftsman tools aren't that great quality. After a certain point you don't want to acquire junk and stuff you don't need just so you can say you got a good deal.
It's a steal considering the majority are USA tools. It looks more like someone got their hands on a bunch of tools from a defunct Sears going out of business sale. I can't picture someone putting all of that in a tool box and never using any of it Never seen the gray handled nut drivers. Is that because they are metric? I remember buying my standard set on sale for $19.99
Yeah this box was definitely a find and someone was just getting rid of stuff. Those nut drivers were some of the few that were not USA made tools, so that may of had to do with them looking different as they were probably the later Sears Craftsman made imported tools. 🛠️
That is true back in the day they were much, much cheaper. However these days USA made hand tools are relegated mostly to a few premium brands (Snap-On, Mac, Matco) and pretty expensive. The equivalent to all these tool are are import made, and that's why these older Craftsman USA tool pull such a premium today.
I think you got a good deal on these tools. Some of these tools are pretty interesting. I’m sure you’ll find a use for all of them over time. Hopefully you want have to use any of them real soon.
Was the box of Craftsman tools worth the price? Let me know in the comments below 🛠
You can really tell a real craftsman, especially when they don't know to push the button on the pliers.

Yes they are, before people knew of Knipex quality. The Craftsmen Knipex were no question asked warranty and cheaper than Knipex branded.
Considering what's in the box, definitely worth it.

Sir, you have the deal of the year. That made in Germany plier alone at least $40 on Knipex brand. Very good plier.
