- 23andMe has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons, but that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to science news headlines this year. There's no quicker way to look like a fool than to make predictions about the future of science and tech, but here goes nothing. I'm a Scientist - watch me react to my past predictions about the biggest science headlines of 2023.

Why would anyone want more relatives? Gross. The ones I have now refuse to leave, they claim we're related. 🤷🏼♂️
Haha People tend to be fascinated by what makes us tick. Thanks for engaging!
No one has told me how my genetic data can be used to my detriment. Fear mongering over data collection has always made me laugh.
Unfortunately in Australia Genetic data can be used against you in a real way (insurance premiums/coverage denial), not a sci-fi way (cloning a new you!). The more immediate problem is that big companies don’t invest in data security because nobody takes action over data leaks.
It is no longer your data when you give it away. If you're waiting for someone to tell you of the dangers you're not looking into it yourself. If you're not looking in to it yourself, you don't want to know the answer. If you're laughing, you are trying to suppress your own unease. Tech addiction is full of denial just like all the other addictions. I'm suggesting you are in denial.
There will be a watershed moment at some point
DAYYYYY - TAHHHHHHH!
Big data isn’t going away any time soon. Thanks for visiting the channel!
