I think people stay away from medium actions is because their are fewer component options at least when I was looking for parts. Then what I did find for medium all were more expensive
Thank you!!!!! Finally a good explanation on available parts. I've been looking at doing a Zermatt med and was curious for bottom metal. Covers 284 win variants, saum, wsm, and maybe just a long 260 rem.
7rsaum is where its at. Been using one in 1000yd Unlimited Class Benchrest for 7yrs now. My favorite cartridge. It's so efficient, so inherently accurate, and I feel is the perfect 7mm cartridge
Soon to build a rifle and looking towards a do it all rifle if that’s possible. Looking to run a 6mm creedmoor with 110 a-tips and have another barrel to run a 7mm Sherman max for bigger game. Is the medium actions a good choice? Any problems running short action calibers out of a medium?
I have a defiance xm. I couldn't find any information on the xm plus. This is the second time I hear of that. Will the medium vesper fit in my stock inlet that is for the xm I have? I think I rather have a vesper at this point in time. TIA
No it will not, only XM+ actions match the medium footprint standard followed by all other action manufacturers. Your XM doesn't not follow the standard.
And he's conflating COAL case over-all length sitting in the magazine with bullet jump of a chambered round. While this new "medium" action may optimize or reduce the bolt cycle distance of short OAL cartridges in a long action receiver, it has nothing to do with bullet jump to lands of a chambered round. Still, not a bad idea to optimize that bolt cycle distance. I'd prefer it if building a 7mmPRC rifle, for sure.

Is there a trigger/safety available for the BAT Vesper that locks the bolt?
Is that a 18 or 20 inch carbon barrel on this 7PRC?
Can you cut a factory rem 700 short action to a medium? Just curious
Great video
You keep saying “our action”… is BAT an UKM the same company?
No, but the action is an exclusive product made for and distributed by Unknown Munitions
@@Seanconnery1st ahhh good to know. Thank you.

It seems a waste of time to me. None of those rifles are something I would hunt with. Sorry just my opinion.
