I, too, would love to see a side-by-side at the end! It would make the finished product that much more impressive! Also, when I played this video for my husband, I had to go back to 2:56 to show off that mirrored finish. Amazing results. Keep up the good work and I can't wait to see your workshop back up and running!
Love your videos! I really like that you don’t feel the need to add cheesy music and let us enjoy the work sounds. Very nice. I think that you should add a side-by-side or fade at the end though, showing a before and after. Would make it all that much more impressive. Keep up the good work!
I got a machete, almost identical to this one that needs restoration . I’m so glad I found this video because now I think I know how to do it! I hope it comes out as nice as yours did! Thanks again.
Wow, shaping the handle before cutting a slot right in the middle was absolutely an act of bravery! Great result, and I love the "no power-tools" aproach!
Gabriel Salazar - Most probably he can´t. But YOU can sand the rough edges, sharpen the cutting edge and polish it all to a bright shine. Makes a world of difference... ;-) Cheers
Wow🤔 I was just looking for a simple solution to remove rust off my Machete, while This man Went full out Old-Shcool! Very Cool To Watch- Thanks For That.👍😉🇨🇦
Nice restoration, though I think maybe a hacksaw, the type with the .25 inch blade, would've helped make the making of the handle easier since you can manupulate the blade easy to cut curves with them.
Well it's only 2 am here but I enjoy watching these videos and my insomnia, and pain from my broken knee are making it very difficult to sleep so I watch these.
Wow. This guy’s pretty damn good. I just bought an old Collins Legitimus 1941. It needs some work. The sheath is in amazing condition, but the blade has some pitting. It’s like someone bathed the sheath in raw linseed oil for 80 years.
awesome! I have a pair from my grandpa, I want to restore and use them but they are still sentimental. They have plastic handles are probably from the 80s. How do you sharpen them? Should I change handles? what kind if i do? what products and order of grit sandpaper did you use? what did you use to polish? type of adhesiveness did you use? If i use a wood handle what kind do you recommend? Sorry for all the questions. But thank you
Exitos ml querido andre.la oxidacion es una accion quimica del oxigeno en los metales, algo natural. Para esta restauracion lo hacemos quimicamente y despues fisica.hasta luego amlgo
By hand .... that was well done and the finish was very good. You can be proud of that work. Was nice to see no power tools and the finish on the blade was excellant. Why u have so many thumbs down is beyond me they must have been watching something else..
Sharp Works there’s dozens of RUclips channels that do the same thing, RUclips’s algorithm just picked Andre up. Unless he bought ads there’s nothing to really do to grow fast without pure luck.
Quality content with decent quanitity, and because he's covering something that's harder to do and very cool, so there's a low supply and high demand, for a free price.
I'm glad you gave the handle some character. The generic ones take plain to the extreme. Looks awesome. I did one similar a few years ago, it's already started to go rusty again unfortunately. It wasn't as shiny or nice as yours.
So refreshing to see this all done the proper way you did a fantastic job on the blade best part you did not attack it wuth the dreaded angle grinder and butcher it or flap disk a great job love how you used the draw file to remove excess epoxy really nice touch well done looks great..
Restoration by hand is absolutely the most satisfying thing in the world. I just finished a plumb hatchet and some blacksmithing hammers. All by hand, maybe i should invest in a good camera and upload on yt. Anyways great video thanks for sharing.
Great video, great job. I have an old machete, plan to restore it... but... I don't know if I could do it bare hand... takes lots of strength in the hands and lots of time. Besides, of course, the know how you have.
Wow your a legend, I have worked with wood and metal in high school and more recently mechanical engineering in college and it requires a lot of focus when it comes to filing the metal to a radius and working within the tolerances that are given. Watching you restore things just by hand and skill is satisfying as well as inspirational. Good on you mate.
An coming from a guy from the Caribbean I've been a round a lot of machetes an cutlases I really like what you did to it, regardless of my first comment.
For some reason, watching restorations without machines & only by hand is so satisfying.
Hello salonika
I agree.
I found this to be the opposite.
salonika101 that is how you are supposed to do it anyways
Same
The lack of power tools made this vid so much more satisfying to watch.
*Hand go brrrt!*
In sixty five years I have never seen a machete as nice as that one! Wow and of course the handle!!
For some reason, I just love machetes. They are like modern swords mixed with knives
I, too, would love to see a side-by-side at the end! It would make the finished product that much more impressive!
Also, when I played this video for my husband, I had to go back to 2:56 to show off that mirrored finish. Amazing results. Keep up the good work and I can't wait to see your workshop back up and running!
That has to be the best DIY RESTORATION by hand I have seen on here so far. Bravo sir. A machete Jason Voorhees would be proud of!!!!
Love your videos! I really like that you don’t feel the need to add cheesy music and let us enjoy the work sounds. Very nice. I think that you should add a side-by-side or fade at the end though, showing a before and after. Would make it all that much more impressive. Keep up the good work!
Andre Will Do It Awesome! Can’t wait!
Andre Will Do It what granulation u used?
Further information by voice would be very useful.
Finally a video that says "no powertools", and there actually are none! Very nice work and great craftsmanship.
My father used to restore things when I was young, it brings back good memories.
Grey Sim for a second there i thought a fly was on my screen
For some reason it’s so satisfying to watch the stuff repaired
That looks good enough to B used in ALL the Friday the 13th films!
WOW! What a fantastic example of fine work/craftsmanship! Very well done! And the 3 apples at the end... unbelievable!
so satisfying to see an old rusty blade shining again, good job:-)
I got a machete, almost identical to this one that needs restoration . I’m so glad I found this video because now I think I know how to do it! I hope it comes out as nice as yours did! Thanks again.
wow, i love how its done by hand, really satisfying
I am addicted to watching these kind of videos... there so satisfying
Fantastic! All that hard work condensed into 9 minutes. Now I know what to do. Thanks mate!
did it turn out? I am doing literally the sam ething now lol
Wow, shaping the handle before cutting a slot right in the middle was absolutely an act of bravery!
Great result, and I love the "no power-tools" aproach!
Working manually in that wood looked tedious but so satisfying
thanks for doing it without power tools, it makes it more fun and also if you want to try it at home then its easier
can you restore my life?
Gabriel Salazar - Most probably he can´t. But YOU can sand the rough edges, sharpen the cutting edge and polish it all to a bright shine. Makes a world of difference... ;-)
Cheers
Sad song :(
Sad boi.
Gabriel Salazar best comment I've ever seen😂
Brasil hu3 hu3
This was masterclass work without power tools.
Nice job. I like the sawdust in the epoxy thing. Never seen that before.
Looks like custom wood glue. Neat trick haha
Wow🤔 I was just looking for a simple solution to remove rust off my Machete, while This man Went full out Old-Shcool! Very Cool To Watch- Thanks For That.👍😉🇨🇦
Jason would appreciate this beautiful work
Ningún súper héroe mire que moviera las manos como tu jajaja. Ni de nuevo se veía así de chingon ay esta tu like amigo
Unintended ASMR at its best.
nice work, man. nice to watch somebody uses hand tools instead of power tools
I hope your shop comes together well, you are my favorite tool restoration channel!
By far the best restoration ive seen yet...
Nice restoration, though I think maybe a hacksaw, the type with the .25 inch blade, would've helped make the making of the handle easier since you can manupulate the blade easy to cut curves with them.
Jason will be proud of you
Mr.Vorhees would be proud 😢👏🏾
Mrs vorhees and jason would appreciate
mr vorhees was an abusive father to jason and pamela and pamela killed mr vorhees
Bro I watched full series it was 3 different machetes this guy must have restored them
Voorhees
Nice to see a job done with basic hand tools. We don't all have access to band saws & power tools. Nice job
Boi it’s crazy how you did this all by hand good job 👍
I would never use it again. Perhabs as a mirror. Such an awesome job! It's satisfaying to watch!
Magnífica restauración, te felicito viejo !! 👍👏👏👏
Thats the best restoration ive seen in a long time
I'm surprised the wooden handle did not catch fire 😆 great job! one question what can be applied to a high carbon blade to prevent future rusting?
From México... Congratulations!!! excellent restoration without machines!!! Only with yours hands!!! 👏👏👏👏
why I am watching this at
3 am😐
Same boat
Same
Yep
Same
Well it's only 2 am here but I enjoy watching these videos and my insomnia, and pain from my broken knee are making it very difficult to sleep so I watch these.
An amazing piece, job well done
Now with this machete I could Indiana Jones my way to the backyard tool shed...and bring back a bottle of champagne to sabre it with.
Martin Kronström why is there champagne in ur tool shed
LMFAO!
You should use a sabre to sabre a bottle of champaigne, not a machete.
Lasagna titty aging?
Michael Pedersen He used a machete in one of the movies tho.
Wow. This guy’s pretty damn good. I just bought an old Collins Legitimus 1941. It needs some work. The sheath is in amazing condition, but the blade has some pitting. It’s like someone bathed the sheath in raw linseed oil for 80 years.
Beautiful
Totally agree
A machete worthy of a samurai. This video was very satisfying.

You can be proud of that work.

Wow man how’d you get so big in only two months?!
Sharp Works Quality content.

Andre Will Do It thanks for the comment back
the youtube algorithm lottery is a mysterious being

Omg the apple slice at the end cracked me up cause im plaing the video at 1.25 speed so they just sliced themselves
No they didnt. You see the swing 🙄
@@paradis0744 what part of I'm watching it at an increased speed did you miss.
@@connortremeer1966 nothing dumbass. You think I missed that? I tried that scene at every speed. Duh

Este muchacho me llena de orgullo
-un chapeador
that is an outstanding job!
great skill, patience and craftsmanship
At 2x speed he becomes *The Flash* ⚡
-the flash-
I love restorations by hand. They’re better than ones with power tools tbh
A ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++, very nice work . Mike Espo..
Very good video. I want this guy working for me. At that speed he could do 3 days work in 8 hours. Employee of the month. Thumbs up. Thanks
8:40 My dude rocking a pair of crocs
Matthew Curley I knows a crocs I sees em

Ur polish ???
Andre Will Do It dang it I was really hoping to see what it was
Are you asking if he's Polish? or what kind of polish?
he does polish though ))
It is festool mpa 11010 antihologramm
Wielka polska
That machete is gorgeous
Off topic, but is English your first language?
All I see is .. both your hands are like magician's hand !! I was amazed
Can you fix a rusty hoarse shoe?
this is the fastest working man on the planet
Jason Vorhees would be proud!
Love the result and knife testing 👍
awesome !!
Thanks ise with my machete I do not stay as well as you but at least it works again
Greetings from Mexico
new sub :D
What is he melting in 8:03??
Redokeo I believe that's beeswax, used for preserving the wood in the handle of the machete.
Great works by hand, sir !
At 2:28 ???
Andre - no english...
Matthew Curley what the hell
Matthew Curley I'm sorry but I really don't see the point in saying that
JO95POWER it prevents rust going back on it and shiny too
Wow that's quite a hand workout. Very nice job!👍
Jason Vorhees sends his thanks,
Great Job! Love the handle and the high speed video.
I wish I was that machete...
kinky
god i wish that were me
Do you have a fetish for sandpaper scraping across your skin ?
@@madarauchiha21 YEAH I MADE THIS COMMENT 2 YEARS AGO AND NOTHINGS CHANGED!
Still hasn't changed.
Congratulations on the work, it was very good.
No power tools ey? How did u screw that vise in????
Butterderpz with a screw driver
Butterderpz r u dumb
If that's hardwood, then there's no way a screwdriver would have enough force to break the surface of the wood in order for the screw to go in.
Oisin Molloy is that the only thing you have to say?
Butterderpz 5:47
Your videos are always awesome, looking forward to more restorations
What happened with the electric tools , everything are made with hands today
Great job! Bring it to Florida and it will be rusty again by the end of the week.
*Watches at 2x speed*
Great video, great job. I have an old machete, plan to restore it... but... I don't know if I could do it bare hand... takes lots of strength in the hands and lots of time. Besides, of course, the know how you have.
Nadie va a comentar nada en español?
Hubiera sido mas facil comprar un machete nuevo 😁
Ya lo hiciste.
Nice job. Especially liked the apple slice!
Great work. The handle is so perfect
