Great instruction Trent. Especially the autothrottle reference. As a jump seater, I have seen auto throttles move back and forth on Gulfstream jets many times on descent but never made the mental connection to pitch until I started flying myself. Great Example!!!
As someone who has no experience or training with anything flying (other than a kite): Now I understand the stuff I hear in aviation related videos and why it is important. Thank you.
I really appreciate your hand gestures to bring your words to life in a visual sense for your student to better understand. Watching (and listening ) to this is so helpful. Thank you!
Elevator trim is known to keep a constant speed more than an altitude. If im trimmed and stabilized at 150 kts and I reduce power, I will still fly at 150 kts, but I'll start descending.
Fly the airplane manually first, no matter what phase of flight, then adjust the elevator trim, to reduce control forces so as to maintain the attitude you want (level flight, climb or descent). Also, much of what you explained during flight, could be better comprehended by the student, on the ground. Then, do minimal instruction while flying.

You did a much better job at explaining Trim than my instructor. I might need to attend your flight school😂
🙌
So am I correct in saying an aircraft in trim is gaining altitude while maintaining level flight?
No, if the aircraft is properly trimmed for level flight, it will not climb or descend.
I’m the future you’ll notice how the trim moves as passengers walk up and down the airplane.
🙌🤣

You should start a channel!
