@@billgoadthat’s beyond the point. Metallica thought the groove would work as a nice prelude to one of their songs while also allowing them to pay their respects to a guitar god. Don’t get to see that very often

is not the strat tone hes not able to play any of SRV because sounds very bad , he dont have any groove and his tone vibrato and bendigs are more like and amateur

0:06 Rob says "Stevie Ray Vaughan DEEP CUT" (that means they switched the riff up a bit and turned it into their own Master Piece) don't be hating because they did things differently, they may do it differently to avoid a "music war" between Stevie and Metallica, Bad enough Megadeth and Metallica are against each other because Dave Mustaine was apart of Metallica at one point (from 1982 to 1983) until the guys kicked Mustaine from the band after hiring Kirk and plus there's another reason why the guys told Dave to leave, it was because he had an alcohol drinking problem and ended up kicking James's dog while he was drunk at the time

Kirk is playing in stevie's territory and failed to learn the song properly or didn't take time to make a fair rendition, that's why people are upset.

Nobody expects an average Joe like Hammet to pull an SRV cover off perfectly ,but try and get it 50% correct. Just check out SRV's cover of Voodoo Chile, , ,now that's what I'm talking about ! Hammet's meant to be a pro and he sounds like the kid next door practising but Stevie Ray was a real legend and deserves that accolade . . . This is just AWFUL ! and WRONG ! and what was with that horrible "bend too far" on the first solo note ?? couldn't wait to dive into that solo huh Kirky ??. Stick to your Metallica groove man ! But I did appreciate the sentiment.
at the beginning of voodoo chile if it starts playing randomly I always question wether its the hendrix or srv version. thats how good he is at covering
