    Thanks for sharing. Some applications don't even use these settings (if you have a B&S powered chipper it has no throttle setting besides wide open)

    brother.... thank you for this video! good gracious I was pretty lost because of first, the way this carb looked and second, I am not a mechanic.....yet. I just bought my first old tractor (a 77 Cub Cadet 1450) about 2 months ago and I got it running with minimal effort. But now I have a Allis Charlmers Big Ten and it needs quite a bit more work. The previous owner has patched it quite a bit so that I do not know what original or "back to zero" looks like. I need to find a way to clean out the inside of my gas tank and after than I am going to have to get a new carb. Your video will help me set it up perfect. There is a bolt where the high idle screw is supposed to be, so I am not going to trust it. I can spin the pullies and get the tires to spin so I may be in business after I get it running. Any tips on cleaning the inside of the gas tank. Lots of rust in there.

    Thanx for the video! I’ve been trying to adjust the idle on my 1978 Gibson 8hp Briggs snow blower and it’s been very frustrating. Now I know what to do. Thanx!

    Man I need one of those carbs and an air filter. Does that carburetor have a particular model number or name. Mine runs good but the end where the air filter goes is busted off and the air filter assembly is missing.

    i was wondering if you could help me, i have a allis chalmers big ten as well, do you why my carb would keep flooding it's self

    • @BoedyPennington
      @BoedyPennington  8 лет назад

      +Taylor Vanconant Either a stuck float, or a float that has a hole in it and is filling up with gas. Or, simply, it needs to be cleaned up because it isn't making a good seal to cut off the fuel.

      @TaylorVanconant 8 лет назад

      Well here's the kicker, i had it rebuilt because it was doing the same thing. After i got it back guess what, still flooding

      My guess then would be that the float valve seat is damaged. The float valve needle needs to sit perfectly into the seat, if there are any high or low spots, cracks or blemishes, fuel can get through. My suggestion would be to purchase a new carb, I've seen them on ebay. Just search for it. They go for somewhere around $90 I think. Your other option would involve repairing the seat, which can be done, but would take too many words. I say look into that, and make your informed decision. But I would go with a different carb. By the way, These carbs F'ing suck. So do the engines really. Mine runs great, and it's a complete gas hog, is very temperature tune specific, and overall a real headache to me. But It keeps on firing up and working, so I guess it's not all that bad, but I would love for it to give me a good solid reason to replace it with a new engine.
