    Try adding cedarwood oil. It helps with pimples as well. You can also substitute peppermint with eucalyptus.

    Dear mr. sultan of silver. I just want to thank you for posting this and sharing this information. I’ve suffered with acne and horriawful ingrown hairs for over twenty years and nothing has worked. Wondering if a more natural approach would help I came across this video. I purchased the supplies you recommended and the results have been fantastic! This is so soothing that I find myself using it everyday regardless of shaving or not. Thank you

      @@ListenMySon it looks like you are using the one with alcohol in it? So it is still going to burn a little right?

    I really appreciate you sharing this information via RUclips. I’ve recently gone back to wet shaving my entire face after many years of just trimming my beard back with a hair trimmer. The results were just like you said. Lots of bumps,pimples,cuts,dry skin and irritation all around my face. After watching your video I decided to try your method of making my own Witch Hazel post shave splash. I used the same brand Witch Hazel that you did with cherry blossom essential oil.(I happened to find a little bottle on clearance at Michael’s) What a difference. I love using this as after shave. Smells really nice too. I’ve almost used the whole batch and have since bought the same essential oils that you used in the video and am going to make it the same way you did. Again thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge with us all here on RUclips.-Also I saw your video on The Ultimate Hot Towel Shave at Players Barber Shop. Loved it!

    I would only make a couple of adjustments. Transfer to a mist spray bottle for the entire face not just shaving areas. Spray on and leave to dry, alot cleaner and evenly distributed than pushing and pulling the already sensitive skin.
    Some other oils could be added: Bergamot, Lemon verbena for a citrus blast. I haven't tried peppermint, usually use menthol.
    Great job!

    As soon as I breath, blink my eyes, go to bed, wake up I have an ingrown/bump. As soon as I started using this (alternating with just plain alcohol) I DO NOT have anymore bumps. I tried everything and I thought I would have this problem forever. Thank you so much! I have hyperpigmentation so I use Ambi to lighten the area AFTER I apply the witch hazel mixture.

    bergamot lavender sage menthol summer aftershave... Tea tree oil's a fragrance I tend to forget about momentarily... It's a bit overwhelming... I might try eucalyptus as a substitute for menthol...

    I don't know if you ever noticed, but most witch hazel is distilled into alcohol? There are alchole versions that are scented with essential oils. But I do love me some witch hazel after shave though. Mostly because I'm sensitive to aluminum.

    Also no matter what razor I use, I always tend to break out so, I went to just using an electric shaver

    • @ListenMySon
      @ListenMySon  7 лет назад

      +Sal Cannarelli I love electric razors! The way they make them now, you can get pretty smooth but I still have to shave twice a day with an electric if I'm going out and need to be on-point.

    • @salcannarelli2312
      @salcannarelli2312 7 лет назад

      Gray Bailey they're nice and gets the job done, but I do miss a traditional shave. I started with a straight razor cause my mom is a licensed beautician and taught me many years ago. Maybe I was doing something wrong

    • @h2t26
      @h2t26 5 лет назад

      Ya, love mine. Not cheap though if you want a good one. Though i have started getting back into shaving, but this time with a straight razor and safety razer. I'm finding that the shaving cream, blade, technique make a big difference when it comes to cuts, burn, and break outs.

    It's funny we both shaved right around the same time. I meant to ask, do you have any recommendations for an all purpose wash for extremely sebaceous skin? Twice a week I use Sea Breeze astringent in my beard, scalp, and areas surrounding my hairlines, I also use vinegar once every other week on my scalp. Portuguese genetics make me worse than a Labrador retriever.
