First year garlic chives. I planted the seeds inside the same container as my blueberries. My husband thinks I’m eating grass but I can smell the difference and taste the raw onion/garlic flavor. Chives and mushrooms with olive oil. Such a treat.
I’m in Las Vegas NV. and I’ve got a garlic chive plant that’s been living outside this hot summer. Thank you for the informative video. I will follow up with your foodie suggestions. Thanks
I just found out about the pest deterrence this year and comp planted them around the garden. Garlic chives is another plant like mint, you can't get rid of them once they start popping up but unlike mint I can actually eat them on a lot of foods...eggs baked potatoes salads. One thing I haven't done is clip from the base but I will now. Can you do a series on growing tomatoes inside the house during winter? Is it possible to get them to fruit?
I love garlic chives! I had a heck of a time starting them from seed this year; any tips? I ended up buying a started pot from the nursery. But since they are such tough little plants I was able to divide that one clump into 4, so now I have many plants from my $3 investment. I love to add them to my eggs and chicken salad.
I watched a video by Regine@AsianGarden. Soak for 12 hours. Then spread on wet paper towel. Fold the paper towel and place in a plastic bag. Small roots will appear in 3 days. Transfer to moist soil. Keep soil moist. Greens will appear in 3-7 days. I followed these instructions and I just transferred mine to soil this evening. It's amazing how quick they germinate! Be sure to use fresh seed as allium family is known for decreased germination rate after the first year.
Mine grow aprox 2ft tall, but they're also indoor, and aprox 3-4yrs old now! I been scared to cut em down that short, but the "stem" parr is about 5-6 inches tall now b4 the leaves start... Also, you're makin my mouth water!!! They are soo nummy!

Just started with planting some seeds,..I can't wait.. I live in Aruba.
I tried some today.
A friend has it growing.
I'm going to give them a try.
Love my garlic chives! As an added benefit they are much more gentle on those of us with IBS than onions and garlic.
Really informative and helpful video, Thank you

😍 Wonderful! Informative. Thank you so much! I will try this for the first time. ☺
ah that is so cool!
Could you please make a video on how you package herbs for shipping?
Appreciate the video. Purchased as aphid deterrent along other plants after they destroyed my salvias. Now time to cut low and add to stir fry! Yum😊

Garlic chive pesto is great with fish or just spread on a bit of sourdough bread.
Can you replant the bulb like things that grow at the top?
Hey Andy, when seeding, does one seed produce a glump?

First time growing garlic chives. Dunno why but mine are very thin and not getting fatter like they should be. Any reason why that may be?
First time watching. I planted some of this year for the first time I didn't know I could separate
