Obscure choice, but I love it! Brought back memories of high school - these guys were a favorite underground band back in the day. Thanks for the play!
Ok but dig: All 3 of Love And Rockets were in Bauhaus! And later reunited and toured in recent years as Bauhaus. You need to see the footage where Peter Murphy sings hanging upside-down like a bat!
It started with Daniel and David collaborating. Then they brought David's younger brother Kevin Haskins to drum, and Peter Murphy to sing. They're credited with starting the goth rock genre or something
That whole bridge is transcendental and the replication of the disintegration/reintegration through sound is just cool, and creative. I don't feel speeding that up at all would have enhanced it one bit. If you like a harder edge, listen to the Bauhaus tracks Double Dare and Dark Entries. The guys were a bit leaner and hungrier back then, but I prefer Love and Rockets - Its like setting off the box of fireworks at the same time and trying capture the pauses, delays, crackles, and bangs all at once.
They have some great songs on their 7 albums. Ball of Confusion Dog End of the Day Gone By The Game Haunted When the Minutes Drag Mirror People No New Tale to Tell The Light All in My Mind Yin and Yang the Flower Pot Man An American Dream Motorcycle Sad and Beautiful World RIP 20C and, if you spark up the pipe, My Drug and Deep Deep Down are great chill songs.
All aboard the Express Kundalini
Bass player, David J, is the other singer.
