Actually the reason why Jennifer Hale is very popular and taken seriously is because of her ability to put the correct emotion and pace in all the characters she has done. Her resume is extremely long and as for what Tony said for her to be taken seriously, which I think she is a lot of people can debate that she does a hell of a better job than Mark Meer.
You just haven't heard the Russian voice of BroShep. Compared to that, Meer's job is brilliant.
Mark Meer also voices the vorcha, hanar, many volus and other characters. So while his Shepard role is the least dynamic vocally compared to his other roles, he does have a lot of skill.
@@andrecruz4447 Meer was also a relative newcomer to voice acting, most of his roles were small side characters in other BioWare games prior to landing the male Shepard role. He's considerably better in the third game, but by then he'd already established the male Shepard persona so there wasn't much he could really do to expand on it without it sounding out of character.
And Jennifer Hale holds the Guinness world record for most voice acting parts by a female voice actress, so... Not like you're going to do better than *the most prolific female voice actress in history.*

This is Commander Shepard and this is my favorite youtube video in the Citadel.
I like how Bioware has been adding same sex relationships in to their games for a long while. I think it first started in Jade Empire, with a male being able to romance Sky and a female romancing Silk Fox. Thinking about it, I think there was meant to be a lesbian romance in ST: KotoR but that was cut in the end. Some may say that it’s done just to get players, and even if that is true, it’s great to see that they are tackling homosexuality sensitively and wonderfully.
It's so strange. It's like Shepard's talking to me. I love that Shepard's voice is actually Jennifer's real voice.
Now i know why i find lightnings voice so attractive even thought i don't like the character. Had no idea she was voice by Ali Hillis. Forever blue.😍😍

I wonder how did you come up with that? Not saying that I personally know Ali, but from the responses I, and many other fans got from her on Twitter, she seems pretty nice. She likes to joke around a bit too. From my own experience, she's one of the nicer celebrities, compare to some other actors / actresses.

@chris200830 Additionally, in the codex IN THE GAME it specifies that asari are an all female race. Also in the Galactic Codex: Essentials Edition 2183 (from the Mass Effect Collectors Edition) it says that they are all sexually female. When Liara says male and female have no meaning to asari, she is referring to the social gender constructs of human society, not to physical sex.

no its cool i was just letting you know honestly jennifer hale has been in a lot of stuff I've liked before i even knew she was in mass effect but i just wanted to change it up for once and i like it better too so if theres customization i usually pick the female + i make ugly guys in games my shepard actually looks pretty good

@mujuma I don´t think femShep is just there "for the female players". I´m a girl myself and have played as both a male and femShep. And I know several guys who did the same, so I don´t really think you can just put it in boxes like that..

@mujuma What you said wasn't really sexist but the words 'I'm not sexist, it's just my view' are stupid. Just because something is a 'view' doesn't make it un-sexist. That would be like someone saying 'Girls are only good for cleaning. Not sexist, just my view' I know guys who play as Femshep, it's not something they implemented as appeasement to the female player. I think it's also awesome that they have a female lead who's strong and competent without being purely about tits and asses.
@mujuma Don´t worry, I´m not offended at all, and I can´t see why anyone else should be. I was only pointing out that femshep isn´t only for female players and maleshep for the male. Although I do think that most guys play as maleShep (at least on their first playthrough) and most girls/women play as femShep.

Marks voice fits perfectly for Shepard, in my opinion, it sounds commanding.
He lacks the emotion Jennifer can display in certain parts, like Tali's trial and the romance scenes, though I prefer his normal tone a lot more than Jennifer's "I'm so bored I don't want to be here".
I wish she used her MGS4 Naomi voice, that was really good.

No, it's not a fact. Men are not superior, nor women are. Men are indeed stronger and more resistant (both physically), their body is meant for this, but you can't say women don't have something to compensate this. Men aren't smarter.
In a world in which women have always been underrated and unnappreciated, they had to fight a lot to prove themselves and finally earn recognition and respect. They can be considered emotionally stronger just for going through all of that.

exactly don't think all guys are like that though i am and I've ONLY played as a femaleshepard its interesting cause most games are just about men but i find it gives it a new "feel" for the environment and interaction
They should give players a chance for a more serious homosexual relationship with either male or female in Mass Effect 3.
@mujuma About Meer and Hales voiceacting: I can´t really decide who is the better of the two, cause they both have their strengths and flaws. In my case I like Meer for his ability to make maleShep sound like, not just a commander but THE commander the hero who is going to save us all (hopefully).
