    Looks good and useful, but cloud and browser-based is a hard pass for us. Other than trying to trap people into subscriptions I fail to see why this couldn't be a standalone functionality.

      @@with-Aryan True, many go down the "you own nothing and you will like it" route, but we try to avoid that for as long as possible.
      It's mostly about security and reliability for us. When big guys like Amazon or MS cloud offers have regular failures that's bad enough, don't know what SW uses, but it certainly won't be more reliable and clients don't care. Then there is the question of supported browsers and versions when they don't provide and support their own. German/EU privacy laws are also needed and annoying as I'm sure you know.
      It might be a different case if what is being done would actually need the extra computational power something like AWS could offer, but that is currently not the case here. I see that as a test balloon, price is just low enough that some might think it's savings.
      Our IT has decided that everything possible has to stay on premise and needs to be fixable just by local staff. I'm ok with that personally, I'm always pro choice and with Stallman :)

    why cant dessault systems (solidworks people) incorporate this tool ?? the idea is to make the software easier..they could just make an Ad in with this and let us download it....I hope they read this : "make an Ad in with this 3D sculpting tool and let us download it free of charge" we need to work, study...we're honest creative people :)

    It's good that Solidworks is finally catching on this style of modeling. I have been using Alias Speedform on and off for several years, sad it's no longer a standalone program. I also started using Maya in 2001 (stopped after switching to Alias), Alias in 2005, and Solidworks in 2009. I know roughly how to use Rhino3D but I do not use it regularly. With experience in different styles of 3d modeling, it's much easier to learn a new one, and with more approaches to the same model.

    • @with-Aryan
      @with-Aryan  Год назад

      That's fantastic! It's impressive to hear about your extensive background with different 3D modeling software. Indeed, having experience in different modeling styles can make it easier to adapt to new ones and provides a richer set of tools to approach modeling problems. SOLIDWORKS' development and adoption of this modeling style is indeed a positive step forward. I appreciate your insight, and I'm sure our community will benefit from your experience.

      I agree, there used to be plugins such as tsElements for Solidworks that made this type of modeling possible. CATIA V5 has this workflow implemented within the Imagine & Shape workbench from 2009!

    Aryan, thank you for introducing me to Solidworks Cloud. It looks like something I've longed for for quite some time. I've been using blender to do sculpting of more organic shapes recently, and Solidworks for the standard parametric stuff.
    One tiny request, which you may choose to ignore: please consider >not< using that "jittery" transition (the one that has the change jingling in the background). For some reason it throws my eyes for a loop (quite headache inducing) every time it pops up and it takes me a while to "lock in" the the video again. The other transitions are fine.

    Quite basic freeform modeling, glad you find it eventually! This has been in CATIA for more then 15 years!

    • @with-Aryan
      @with-Aryan  Год назад

      freeform in CATIA is not comparable with this. Freeform is still curve-based, I didn't eventually find this, this is polygon-based, maybe it's a bit advanced, but you will pick it up fast if you have been working with CATIA for that long

    Hi Aryan and thank you for your tutorial.
    May I ask you a piece of advice regarding the specs of the pc I should use to do cad in Solidworks? Do you think an old RTX 3060 with 12gb of vram is enough? And do you think a desktop machine is essential, or is it possible to do cad with a laptop? A laptop rtx 3060 has only 6gb of vram, do you think it's too weak of a graphic card?
    Thank you for your attention, have a good day.

    Great video thanks Aryan! Does anyone know if there is FEA/FEM on the SOLIDWORKS Cloud 3DExperience?

    • @with-Aryan
      @with-Aryan  Год назад +1

      Yes, SOLIDWORKS Simulation is available on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, which is the cloud-based version of SOLIDWORKS. SOLIDWORKS Simulation is a Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tool that allows you to analyze and optimize the performance of your designs.
      With SOLIDWORKS Simulation on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, you can perform structural, thermal, and fluid flow analysis on your designs. Additionally, you can collaborate with team members in real-time and access your simulations from any device with an internet connection.
      To access SOLIDWORKS Simulation on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, you will need to subscribe to the appropriate license and have an active internet connection. From there, you can access the simulation tools through the 3DEXPERIENCE platform's interface.
      Overall, SOLIDWORKS Simulation on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform provides a powerful toolset for FEA and simulation, with the added benefits of cloud-based access and collaboration.

    • @with-Aryan
      @with-Aryan  Год назад

      Power Surfacing is a plugin for SOLIDWORKS that enables advanced surface modeling capabilities. It allows users to create complex, organic shapes with ease and precision. With Power Surfacing, you can create models from scratch or convert existing geometry into editable surfaces. I don't work with it , only rarely

    which one is better solidworks cloud or solidworks desktop in terms of designing robots?

    • @with-Aryan
      @with-Aryan  10 месяцев назад

      It will highly depend on the type of robot, since if you need SUBD workflows then go with SOLIDWORKS Cloud, but if you want to work in a team, and share files easily, and if the team is mainly using SOLIDWORKS Desktop, its best to use SOLIDWORKS Desktop.
      Apart from this robot testing involves moving around and at times you might not have internet access, which would be a hindrance for SOLIDWORKS Cloud, but the desktop version would work fine.

  • @saidtacuri9010
    @saidtacuri9010 Год назад

    what do you think about npower surfacing?, it's a pluggin that works with sub-D in solidworks.

    • @with-Aryan
      @with-Aryan  Год назад

      NPower Surfacing is a plugin for SolidWorks that allows users to create and edit complex freeform, organic shapes using subdivision surface modeling. This type of modeling is often used in the creation of products with highly contoured shapes, such as automotive and aerospace components. Overall, if you work with complex surface modeling in SolidWorks, NPower Surfacing may be a useful tool to help streamline your workflow and create high-quality, detailed designs. However, as with any software tool, it's important to thoroughly research and evaluate its capabilities before making a purchase decision.
