Lyme may have suffered PTSD by the capitol bullying her family or something and then switched to the rebels. I’m honestly surprised there is not more tributes like her who just hate the capitol.
There were. At the beginning of catching fire 41 of the victors were still alive, 18 died in the arena. A majority of the remaining victors were brought to the capital in between catching fire and mockingjay where all the rebel sympathizers were executed with the exception of Peeta, Annie, and Johanna. From the beginning, peeta always wanted to help katniss win the games. I think he probably told haymitch about this, and so haymitch figured the best way to go about making sure katniss won was to present them as a team
He also wanted to protect them from being sex-trafficked afterward. If he could sell that they were in love, maybe they’d be exempt from being sex slaves afterward cause the capitol loves the love story

@@Gummyz25 So it probably was changed then because when I first saw the description (over 2 hours ago) it initially implied that. And @ElefontGaming, who also posted their comment about the same time as my original backs this up.
Here's the thing. We know Lyme dies because besides her never appearing again and implying she died, she isn't in the vote for if there would be a symbolic hunger games. You might say that she wasn't able to attend the meeting in-person, but then why didn't she call them to be in the meeting, or set up something so that she can attend which the nation is definitely advanced enough for. So she didn't join the meeting but what if she was just busy. Well coin says that the group is "the 7 surviving victors. The victors that are alive if we count Lyme are (Lyme, Annie, Katniss, enobaria, Johanna, Peeta, beetee, and finally haymitch). THATS EIGHT. Even if she couldn't come why would she say only 7 victors are left alive. Because she died during the battle of district 2 or later. Can anyone tell me if I missed anything or if my theory is faulty
I also believe that the risk of being reaped with a district partner that is very pro capitol could have been on of the reasons why she didn't want to volunteer. It's likely she would have to partner up with her district partner and it would have been to much of a risk for her.
I wouldn’t be shocked that if she was put into the games again the Capital would turn up the mutts to 11 to kill her quickly, seeing as how they were using that years game to kill off dangerous tributes. I also wonder if she had been picked, would Enobaria have volunteered?
It could be possible that Lyme tried to convince the district 2 tributes after the reaping, but was unsuccessful, but by that time it was too late to volunteer
Great video as always! My more lazy theory for this is that the plan to free the Mockingjay was not yet set into place, or of widespread knowledge amongst the rebels by the time of the 3rd QQ reaping. Though Plutarch had the concept of the plan by the end of Katniss and Peeta's Victory Tour, I doubt that a full fledged orchestration was shared outside of select few victors like Beetee, Haymitch, Johanna, and Finnick. Due to its secrecy, I'd bet that the other rebel sympathizing tributes like Chaff and the Morphlings were only let in on the plan soon before going into the arena. I can't think of a way Plutarch would even communicate with victors like Lyme during a victor induced semi-revolution without rousing suspicion and thus compromising the entire mission. I know the victors have phones in their houses unlike common citizens, but they're most likely tapped. I welcome any contrary arguments to this theory :)
@@averyt16 No, she was the only victor taken from the arena who wasn’t rescued by the rebels. She never joins the rebels, but Katniss’s deal with Coin means the rebels don’t kill her, and she was one of the Capitol favourites. She was in the Capitol for the entirety of Mockingjay.

I actually wonder what the blood rain was for. I mean, yeah, it’s horrible, but all that really happens to Johanna, Beetee and Wiress is they get covered in blood. And, yeah, Blight dies from the forcefield, but that’s only because they just happened to be right near it when the rain started. It’s pretty badly designed on the Gamemakers’ parts, because it doesn’t really mentally damage any of them like the Jabberjays did either. @@ihopeicanchangethisnamelat7108 I personally believe the Game Makers collected the blood of the lifestock in District 10. If Lyme was a Hunger Games victor, are we to assume she died during the Rebellion since she wasn't present at the table of the remaining victors? If yes, how did she die?
If Lyme had volunteered for the games, I don't think the rebels would have taken district 2 so easily. Cuz based on the circumstances of the rebellion and victors purge, who else had the military tactical skill and leadership to lead a rebellion in the most Capitol friendly district? Lyme even stated in Mockingjay that her troops suffered several casualties trying to take over the Nut. All she could do was secure the outer villages of 2. And plus, she was probably the last living district 2 victor other than Enobaria before her death cuz Betee stated that the victors who allied with the rebels or the Capitol were all dead. Even Katniss was surprised that Lyme wasn't at the meeting for the final hunger games. Also, if Lyme volunteered, she'd have to do with this question and decision: do I ally with with my fellow careers who are a brainwashed Brutus and two siblings who would do anything to protect the other, all of whom are Capitol pawns to the very end? Or help my peer Haymitch by allying with the face of the rebellion in fire girl, lover boy, a handsome Capitol sex slave, an abrasive young woman, and two of the most brilliant Victors in hunger games history?
First of all, the mockingjays were created by chance, they are a cross between Jabberjays that turned out to be a cheek to the face of the Capitol during dark days, with blackbirds. Katniss had a strong bond with the mockingjays because of her father. Familiarity with Rue and the mockingjay brooch contributed to the popularization of this symbol. It was used not only by the rebels but also by the people in the Capitol, which made Snow furious. Katniss, like the mockingjay, became a symbol, the girl who challenged the Capitol and then brought the Capitol to its knees.
district 2 weren't rebelling until after the 75th hunger games so and rebels would of never risked telling district 2 about the rebellion since they were the only district who sided with the capitol in the first war. so she may never of new about anything and did not want to compete in the hunger games again like most victors also didn't want to.
I’m honestly not sure. I reckon Lyme tried to mentor. I think in a sense that Lyme is like Katniss and she probably had a younger sibling but this time I reckon Lyme’s Games were close to horrific and the Capitol probably killed or tortured or took advantage of her and her family. Do you know if they have any other TV shows in Panem. For example ones where there are Capitol contestants and kids (or adults) don’t have to kill each other? I know there is sometimes mandatory viewing like The Hunger Games or severe breaking news.
I think Katniss mentiones on her first trip to the arena that there are reanactments of previos Hunger Games in the preserved arenas. So maybe these reenactments of previous games are broadcastet sometimes. I could also imagine there being talent shows similar to those on TV today, for example to gather future stylists. As Panem is clearly based on the Roman society, there might also be similar entertainments like chariot races, maybe mixed with something typically American like rodeo. I could also imagine there being quite a number of "historical" movies that show why the Capitol is right to do what ever they want to the Districts and what a great and wonderful country Panem is. And in between there are plain propaganda spots.
@@thegamingbadger6515 Hej, I haven't read the book yet either, so don't worry :-) Personally I believe that the mayors and their closest collegues of every district have such a device to be available in case of an emergency. The general population surely has nothing like this because it would make connection too easy. Maybe some high ranked people in the carreer districts are also trusted with something like a phone but they are surely strictly spyed on. People in the Capitol surely have phones. Considering how much attention they pay to their life style and appearance, it would be strange if they did have the opportunity to show off. Also the Capitol is quite advanced in technology so even around the time of the 10th Hunger Games, they should be about where we are now. But even the phones of the Capitol Citizens were supervised and there surely are a lot of people busy filtering all the data just to make sure there is no uprising in the making. These are just my theories but I hope you find them interesting and helpful. Enjoy reading the Prequel, if you're planning to do it :-)
Video idea: why doesn’t anybody (especially in the Capitol) have mobile tech like smartphones, smart watches, etc. like we have now? It seems like an intentional regression. After all, in the 10th games the mentors have communicuffs, which seem like large smart watches. I’m not surprised at all that there’s no personal smart tech in the districts, that seems obvious. But I’m surprised there’s no mention of personal smart tech in the prequel, especially since Snow was among the richest people in the Capitol. He at least should have seen other people using smartphones, smart watches, etc. And a lack of these devices if his peers have them would be a dead giveaway that he is secretly very poor. Perhaps eradicating mobile tech is a way to make the population easier to control since they can’t communicate as easily? Even in the Capitol.

Or help my peer Haymitch by allying with the face of the rebellion in fire girl, lover boy, a handsome Capitol sex slave, an abrasive young woman, and two of the most brilliant Victors in hunger games history?
could you do a character spotlight on enobaria if you haven't already?
How did THE distric 13 Contact plutarc and haymaitch
Why did Katniss get chosen as the Mockingjay? By the way I love all of your videos, they are Amazing!!!!
Katniss, like the mockingjay, became a symbol, the girl who challenged the Capitol and then brought the Capitol to its knees.
i loved this videooooo
Thank you!
district 2 weren't rebelling until after the 75th hunger games so and rebels would of never risked telling district 2 about the rebellion since they were the only district who sided with the capitol in the first war. so she may never of new about anything and did not want to compete in the hunger games again like most victors also didn't want to.
A rebellion like this would have taken years to build up, many of the underground rebels we meet would’ve been a part of the rebellion for years
Loved the video . Lyme is such a good character ... I´d like to see more of her ! Btw, are you still making videos ?
I’m honestly not sure. I reckon Lyme tried to mentor. I think in a sense that Lyme is like Katniss and she probably had a younger sibling but this time I reckon Lyme’s Games were close to horrific and the Capitol probably killed or tortured or took advantage of her and her family. Do you know if they have any other TV shows in Panem. For example ones where there are Capitol contestants and kids (or adults) don’t have to kill each other? I know there is sometimes mandatory viewing like The Hunger Games or severe breaking news.
Same theory here. She wouldn’t be that scared of the games, only scared for her loved ones
To be honest she might be scared of the Games but you’re right: her worry for her family would override the worry for the games.
Thanks for replying! Your idea seems the most likely and reasonable. 🙂
Capitol tennis, it takes place right after the hunger games and is nowhere near as popular
I think Lyme pretended to like the games or she liked the games but she hated the games after she won
Question- do you think someone who's not of reaping age can volunteer or no?
No, they aren't even required to attend the reaping if they are not 12-18.
Magic
I don’t think Lyme needed to be a mentor. District 2 had many victors both before and after her that could mentor the tributes every year.
do you think the richer districts like 1and 2 and the capitol would have had phones or not
i have the sequel book but i haven’t read it so don’t spoil it pls
Enjoy reading the Prequel, if you're planning to do it :-)
I thought she didn't know about the rebel plan or during the reaping a female tribute volunteered which would have been Enobaria
Maybe she was chosen and Enobaria volunteered instead of her
What games did she win ?
51 I think
Nice! This became a video!
Does, or did, Lyme have kids? If the Capitol had threatened, or already killed, Lyme's kids, that would mess any parent up.
maybe she was reaped and enoparia volentred
Hi everyone
Well no one volunteered for Enobaria so maybe the victors of 2 (other than Brutus) don’t like the Capitol
Most of the victors of district 2 love the games they just didn't feel like going back
Wow how am I so early
I like your lipstick!
Thank you!
