I imagine you used to be able to throw the Cult's Dynamite back at them, maybe to earn an achievement? Hence why it blows up in your hands.
Ricardo Dicksalot I think the main reason why it blows up in Frank's hand is because the Raincoat Cult have the same effect if you can knock one of them holding dynamite down.
The beam gun is so powerful that it breaks the game when shot.

This game honestly gets better with every new video you upload because of the sheer amount of detail packed into it.
I'm sure there's a pre alpha build lying around somewhere that's basically just the open mall and nowhere else. No missions, no saferoom and no dialogue
That would be so eerie. That was honestly the creepiest part of the first game to me. Those like 10 minutes before the helicopter arrives when there’s no military and all the zombies are dead. It’s just completely empty.

Interesting, I figured Carlito's P90 would just function like the SMG. One time I killed brad during the carlito boss fight, which allows you to kill Carlito. He just dropped a normal SMG

This game always had a very interesting attention to detail. I remember being amazed at how well put togathered the super market was when I first played it. I was always interested in the cutscene weapons too.

Yeah there are people who revolve there channels around a particular game of franchise. For example, a youtuber named swegta revolves his content around bully. Freako revolves around uncharted and the last to us
What a fantastic channel this is. I loved this game so much and I still remember watching videos of people finding secrets in the demo for days in anticipation.
Finding a time capsule of a channel like this when you go back to play a beloved game for nostalgia is just amazing.

the invisible gun is likely a template weapon used to make putting together new weapons more efficient, seeing as it lacks any model, damage and so on.

some weapons that are "unusable" can be found in later versions of the game, for example the barret 50. cal is in the dr2 off the record in high noon, the claymore is also in the game in the atlantica casino along with a battle axe and bear

Older versions of games have always interested me, how'd you get a hold of older Dead Rising builds? I figure discs of those would be sitting in the back of some neglected Capcom warehouse.

One of those early builds had that display in the bottom left when you enter a new area, it'd say "Willamette Parkview Mall", followed by your present location.
In the final build, in Al Fresca Plaza, the door leading to the entrance plaza has "WIllamette Parkview Mall" written above it, in what might be the same font as the beta location display.
the unused rocket launcher model can be seen in the new banner for the dead rising deluxe remaster so here's to hoping it's more along the lines of a remake than a remaster!
I’m assuming the Beam Gun was going to be used by the final Boss instead of fist fighting him, just as he used a Prototype M1 Abrams Tank, he could’ve used a Prototype Sniper Rifle, The differences to other weapons was it could penetrate through multiple targets and/or a Ricochet-style Projectile. Probably was scrapped as the ricocheting was too much for the game to handle
That's a pretty interesting theory, and sounds likely enough.
STiP0 that as well with the “Bazooka”, or Rocket Launcher, Probably could’ve been used by a “grenadier” mini boss issued by the Special Forces, also there’s a model of an RC Toy with an explosive strapped onto it, I don’t remember seeing it in the final game but was possibly replaced with the Drone Helicopters that were strapped with the machine gun seen near the end of the game
@@jrlgarage The explosive RC toy is used in game by Paul, the arsonist. You can see it first hand in infinity mode.

@STiP0 the XNA screen looks a lot like xexmenu, lol. I know you need to have an xna to run DR but do you think it will be possible to add weapons like the Barrett .50 and P90 in your inventory, make a savegame, and that could work on a retail? Or do you need an rgh just to even have them in your inventory (like will they despawn or get removed from your inventory on a retail console)

I wish we got to use Brad’s handgun as the actual model that it is instead of the default handgun, as he gives it to Frank before he dies. Also Carlito uses a FiveSeven handgun that I wish we got to somehow use.
They probably started working on the beam gun for like 5 minutes, then some smart cookie had the realization of "Hey we're Capcom! Let's just make the Mega Buster instead!" and then hopefully he got a raise
Im loving the content. The first DR is still my favorite. I played a little bit of 3. It wasnt too bad. There just this weird and mysterious charm to the first title that keeps me intrigued
I wonder if the other 4 games have anything like this? Would be cool if you could do it there

Looking at modding this game looks difficult but my dabbling in modding in DR2 and OTR it is really fun and i wish i could do it for the first, i was wondering wether you can direct me to how to edit parts of the map say the safehouse? Thank you!

Also, I was thinking it might be an very old leftover for an Mega buster weapon. Like, before they had the Mega Man unlockables it was that and mabye space armor.

Out of all the items the Bazooka was the one i want to see the most how would it have worked? Maybe the RPG would have worked like any Exsploses or maybe it was too broken so they scrabbed it or something

Wait am I wrong, or doesn't the True Eye cult crate get used in the final game when you first see the cult outside the movie theater? And they have the woman locked inside that you can rescue?
The TNt probably explodes in Franks hands because thats how it acts when the cultists use it. They pull it out and then it explodes after a certain amount of time.

Honestly a good way to end dead rising is to make a actual remaster/redux with better graphics and more usable weapons and more features
As a hardcore deadhead I can tell you that the beam gun makes its appearance in dead rising 2 otr when they go to the park at the end of the game the company goons have them blowing zombies heads off and collecting queens
That sniper looks sick. Is there a mod anywhere that replaces the hunting rifle with Carlito's sniper rifle?
This is how I see these items and what they could've been used for + why they probably went unused
The Claymore Mine: Most likely would've been used by the special forces. I think the reason Capcom never used it was because they thought nobody would've bothered to try and use it, because the zombies are slow and probably would've taken forever for them to detonate the mines.
Grenade: Another weapon that probably would've been used by the special forces, or maybe when the special forces arrived at the mall, Frank would've been able to find crates full of them and be able to use them against the zombies and the special forces. It was used later in Dead Rising 2 and 3. I don't know why it went unused, it works perfectly fine, so why remove it?
Rocket Launcer/Bazooka: Again, probably would've been used by the special forces. It was later used in Dead Rising 3 as a secondary weapon for the spec ops, except it was in the form of an RPG-7. I don't know why they didn't use it in Dead Rising 1 though, it might've been too OP.
Pipe Bomb: Maybe Paul would've given it to you instead of the molotovs? Or maybe Paul would've dropped them when you defeated him? Who knows, it works perfectly fine, so again, why not let Frank use it?
Dynamite: My only guess is that when you kill a True Eye Cult member, you would've been able to use it. Yet another weapon that works fine, but Frank can't use it. It was however reused in Dead Rising 3 as an explosive weapon.
Anti-material Rifle/Barrett 50 Cal: I noticed during the cutscene after you defeat Carlito the second time, he drops the rifle on the ground before shooting Brad, so maybe you would've been able to go back and pick it up. It probably went unused due to the whole 1 hit kill thing, which probably made it too difficult to not kill survivors (due to their stupid AI)...
P90: Same as the Anti-material Rifle, you probably would've been able to obtain it after defeating Carlito. Probably went unused because of how powerful it was against zombies.
Space Rifle/Laser Canon/Beam Gun: This one is a complete mystery. If I had to guess however, this is a bit of a stretch, but maybe it was the beta version of the Real Mega Buster, but then Capcom decided to add in some Mega Man related things into the game and decided to change it to unlockable weapon we know today.
The Invisible Gun: .................... (shrugs)
Mr.Hpr52 Pie But it’s found in the PC version, which came out several years after the Xbox release. Why would it suddenly be there?

i just assumed all the om files were applicable weapons, turns out i'm wasting file size trying to load in the out of control dolls into paradise plaza for no reason
I remember being able to obtain the anti material rifle after the 2nd encounter with Carlito after he flees but I am not 100% sure.
You've had the toy mega buster, and you may have had the real thing, but now from Frank's mind we have, the imaginary mega buster! All of the animation, none of the damage!

I know that this video is about the first dead rising but a couple weeks ago I had decided to play through Dead Rising 4 again for some reason. So, I went back to the first case (skipping the "tutorial case") and I got to the first boss and everything was going fine and then something odd happened. I had defeated her like normal but a strange weapon appeared. A flaming mace with a shield dropped. (I'm already confused since this is not the weapon I see her using) I picked it up and it had no image in the weapon wheel. It functioned normally and it was like any other weapon but I had never gotten it in any of the other times I fought her. This video got me thinking about how it might be a weapon that was not meant to be there but some left over files in the game had somehow allowed it be. It also happened to my brother less then a week after it happened to me. He was using a different Xbox and a different copy of the game so it confused me even more. I found it very strange seeing as the game was up to date and I had been playing it since the release of the game. Can someone please explain how this could possibly happen?
This is a normal item and I’m unsure of how you haven’t obtained it before. It’s most likely a glitch that it was not appearing in the wheel
What happens if you delete all the zombies from the game? Can you then save all the survivors at the beginning of the game?

I hold world rank #7 on XBONE survival, and was thinking of going in again for the top spot after being dropped a few.
