Thank you for your videos. My 70 year old friend has dementia. Her husband showed me that a mother of a son with Pelizaerus-Mersbacher is a carrier of this disease & often these mothers get dementia. She is 70 years old and slipping away from us. As her long time friend I find things we can do together. We make coffee filter flowers & they are beautiful!! The Covid isolation seemed to intensify her loneliness & dementia. We used to do puzzles but that's no longer possible.

We bought an Alexia with the “ drop in” feature and now we can make visor calls by just dropping in. My father n law doesn’t even have to use a phone. We just drop in on the screen right beside his chair.

I absolutely love this. I I needed to hear it today. I love the analogy of the cactus. I can also relate to thinking someone's highlight reel is their whole life. Sometimes I focus on my bloopers. It's pointless and draining to play the comparison game. I'm going to be intentional about not only not sitting on the cactus, I'm not even going to touch it. LOL I'm just going to focus on the beautiful pink bloom on top.

Thank you! Listening to you have me some ideas of things to do with mom. She used to be a hairdresser and managed a salon. Mom might like to see some hair brushes that she used at work. Use them to brush a doll's hair or my hair. Another activity I want to do is invite her long time friend- they've been friends since kindergarten - to a social distance coffee date. The friend can bring coffee and we'll sit six feet apart in my yard while we three drink coffee.
