The dancers ....I cried the entire length of their dances...it is vital to recognize and respect that the Native Americans do not and never did do anything destructive to this earth ....they lived in their own territory never wanting war never looking for a fight only the outsiders that came came to deceive to ruin and to claim what was not theirs. For this my tears will forever fall for the countless injustices our Native Americans true peace akers still endure to this day. If you really wanted this world to survive you would consult with the original harmony peace keepers those who truly were and always have been doing what the Creator asked of us...to love one another to treat each other with respect and to appreciate all the Creator has given us....not the greedy mindset of the masses but the true good souls who lived here before the intrusive hateful greedy ones came ....look to the Native Americans who never had greed to claim ownership but moreover love respect and feeling protectiveness over all the Creator has blessed mankind with....
This was my first season watching eagle nests and an article on Jackie and Shadow is what got me started. I love everything about J and S, their location and history and how beloved they are all over the world. I can’t wait for the start of the new season.

This season was my first for eagle nest watching. I am, of course, hooked on Jackie and Shadow. Shadow's hilarious snortles of annoyance when Jackie gently tried to nudge him off of his precious eggies were everything. It was often hard to watch J&S during those seemingly endless snow storms but their persistence made me persist. Sandy's postings throughout the season were so helpful and huge props to the patient mods and amazing cam ops. (I also watched the SW Florida eagle nest with M15 and F23 and their oh-so-adorable and smart eaglet little SQEEE23.) Looking forward to the next season--I've seen some videos of Spirit--what a beauty--and hope winter is a little kinder to J&S next season. Spent many hours watching your live stream this year. Also watched many other bird & bird of prey videos, including some very good Peregrine Falcon videos from France. I live in Morro Bay where we have Peregrines at the 'rock', which I can see from my house.
I started watching this January 2024. I live in western Washington. We saw eagles in our area now and then. We've paid much more attention since starting to watch Jackie and Shadow. We are pretty sure we have 3 nesting pairs in about a 50 miles stretch from Raymond to Centralia. We have found two nests about 10 miles apart. We've watched a pair in each nest in January and February. We love when they are soaring around. We often pull over and watch. One pair often soar around where we can watch as we work in our yard. Thank you for this video.
So thankful for the video of the fan party. I learned so much about Jackie and Shadow last year, and again at this years event. Just as exciting was being introduced to the Mods. Thanks to all Native Americans present and the dances/explanation of the dances. Sandy is so knowledgeable, and I enjoy listening to her talk about Jackie and Shadow and all things Big Bear Valley. I mean.. to me, it looks like they each know what each other expect from each other ...except there is no verbal communication. I am in Awe... My Mom her Name was Dawn Brown she was told when i was 19 years old well i am 53 now and my Mom lived till the age 77 she absulootly loved this Channel so so Much when ever somthing amasing was happening she would email me or call me and say jacky and shadow are defending the nest or Jacky Rules the Roost boy ooo Boy does she. You have no idea how much the two Eagle's made my Mom Happy to watch them she called me once and said we need to bring Jacky a blanket ummmm mom giggle 😃 kidding she would say at 1 am it was just mom missing dad sadly we lost dad also 1 year ago December 2 of all times of the year, Mom calling was her way fighting off the Tears loss we all felt unreal 2 weeks it was for dad last 2 weeks nov they told my dad he had pancreatic cancer we lost him 2 weeks later. I guess if you have the most pain full of all cancers 2 weks is probably good thing. All in all i am not discussing this to upset you i am sharing with you the love joy happiness jacky and shadow 💖 showed my mom Nothing could make mom smile More then when something exciting was going on it has me in tears sharing this with all you but i am watching this lady talk about shadow and jacky in the park, I like to think my mom is there with you all listing ane learning about the two eagles she loved so so much sadly mom passed away May 2 2024 she had been rushed to white Rock peace arch hospital from having blood clot in her left lung sadly the Nurse gave my mom a injection for pain and left the bed Railings down she fell out bed 2 am same day she had been taken to the WR hospital rushed air ambulance to Vancouver general hospital she had 7 fractures in her pelvic bone 2 breaks in her hip she was fighter for sure but the breaks and surgery was just to much for my moms system she passed May 2 2024 in Hospital. I want to thank each and every one of you who make this RUclips channel of jacky and shadow you made such a huge improvement to my moms mental health such love joy they gave mom If i could give you all huge hug i would you made the impossible days Happy Days positive days when absulootly nothing could this channel did just that. The retrieval of one of the eggs , by drone , not being harmful, would have yielded valuable information which was skated over in this chat, As these birds live in a very built up area ,pollution could be a cause,of infertility. As you have placed a camera ,2 ,this does create responsibilities,the cameras should be removed if those using them are solely doing so for entertainment and collecting money and not for the birds welfare. Over a period of time some types of bird would workout what the cameras are and how they can be used, they understand more than you know and could be affecting them. Nature is our master fear it,respect and nurture,for if you do otherwise as the Sun rises one day there will be no mankind , I think those eggs would have hatched if there were no humans in the area ,but we will never know,but we could have done. The first people to live in America had understanding of these things .

I will chime in with a few background facts relevant to your proposal. Bald Eagles are wild animals protected by multiple state and federal laws. FOBBV, as an environmental educational group and camera operator, cannot legally interfere with an active bald eagle nest. Nest interference in this particular location can only be authorized by the USFS or CADFW. Generally speaking, the decision to intervene always involves risk assessment. Based on my personal experience following hundreds of wildlife nests, it is highly unlikely that wildlife regulatory agencies would authorize nest disturbance in non life threatening situation, especially given the highly challenging location of this nest (rugged sloped terrain, very tall tree ~150ft). Additionally, drones are known to cause disturbance and even injuries to the eagles. In this particular location a drone use would be highly dangerous and likely unproductive given the layout of the nest tree and its extensive canopy (according to arborists who worked in this tree in the past). In wildlife situations, I have personally only seen drones being used in wide and open spaces like rock pinnacles and cliffs, always away from trees. To learn more about the dangers of drones and their impact on wildlife, I would highly recommend this FWS article: "Keeping bald eagles and other wildlife safe from drones" www.fws.gov/story/keeping-wildlife-safe-drones Hope this information was helpful. 😊
