Bayleaf was my favourite character when i saw he left i was sad we never seen him and when we lost all of the OG crew i was depressed but seening as the show digged itself a grave in 2002 i think it was for the best
What’s really fun about this scene is Nick was always such a no-nonsense officer who didn’t like pranks and wanted everyone and everything by the book. You can tell he’s in on it because he knew not to go down the pole and you can see him smirking right before Bayleaf hits the bottom. So fun seeing Nick in on a prank.
Mark Richardson Dissatisfied with the job and he wanted to run his restaurant full time, he came back briefly when John Hallam died. Sadly James Hazledine died in 2002 from complications after heart surgery. His son Sam is also an actor.
The show lost so much after Bayleaf left. I mean, they held it together through Series 9, but Bayleaf was a big part of the show's heart and soul! If only Sicknote could have stayed till the end...
I’m only on season 10 but Johns death in season 9 actually managed to carry the show for a while, it became a massive thing for the cast, the previous death (being Vaseline) was essentially done and over with quickly, whilst Johns was drawn out over 3 episodes and continued to linger in the air for the season, it’s a shame Skippy was let go so soon tho
@@stottyuk2003 If you're on about London's Burning no I watched it as a child. And I have the dvds so watch it now. And if you're on about James's death no I remember when he died. It'll be 20 years in December. As he died December 2002. Xx
Another Sad Day in the history of London's Burning, But At Least Bayleaf Went out on his own accord. Loving The Vids Mate. Cheers for the post. RIP James Hazeldine
I noticed a small editorial error on the sliding pole scene: The offices of Station officer and Sub. Station officer are on the third floor... and the poles from that floor comes between the fire trucks... The pole where Bayleaf landed starts from the second floor right beside the mess and staircase...
Dalek Form Look closely the scene when Bayleaf comes down via the fire pole. He should come down the pole located middle of the vehicle bay. But he comes down the pole located right side of the bay.
London's Burning went downhill when characters like Bayleaf & John Hallam left then even worse when they killed off Sicknote at the end of series 12 and Recall in the last series

James Hazeldine would of been 75 today if he was still here. Happy Birthday gorgeous. Xx
Godspeed, Bayleaf

The saddest ever moment of the series as Baleaf leaves. he must be one of the best tv characters ever.

Too right, I love this series especially the best characters of the bunch
Mark Richardson to run a restaurant with Claire his new wife
At least Bayleaf went out on a high and came back for John Hallam's funeral and that was the saddest moment
I loved watching this programme it was one of the best on tv at the time....awww lovely memories for me.
Love how Nick was in on the Wheeze too.

BenBanjo87 And John.
Show went downhill when zorba was killed off
Plus, in my opinion, unless Ben onwukwe wanted to leave, they really didn't need to kill of Recall either.
@@cm93431 that was the end for londons burning.

Bayleaf was gorgeous 😍
James Hazeldene a great actor
Bayleaf is one of the best characters in londons burning
peter william skelhorn The show was never the same after he left.
James Hazeldine was one of the best actors ever. So sad he died so young
London's Burning died the same year as James Hazeldene, 2002
Hard to believe he played detective stan egerton in the shipman movie as he looks totally different here
@Stefano Pavone he looked totally different playing detective stan edgerton in doctor death the story of harold shipman
Aww. Bayleaf was so sweet. It's nearly 20 years since James died. Xx
Assume you saw it on Twitter, Classic British TV or equivalent

Bayleaf, the best character London's Burning had in my opinion. Shame James Hazeldine passed so young. Good looking and very talented. RIP.
I never knew James Hazeldine directed some of londons burning
As off as ot sounds I miss James Hazeldine even now. RIP gorgeous. Xx

I've still got my London fire brigade bomber jacket. It was a good uniform and we could do away with the blue shirts at last
RIP James Hazeldine

London's Burning went downhill when characters like Bayleaf & John Hallam left then even worse when they killed off Sicknote at the end of series 12 and Recall in the last series
At least George was still there till end albeit not including the pilot movie
Pearce actually looked like he was enjoying himself!
That would be a first. Poison was a complete git. Had a face like a slate layer's nailbag and the sense of humour of a carton of rancid milk.
I didn't know James Hazeldine died, very sad, Bayleaf was one of the show's best characters
My favourite London's Burning character
My nan use to watch this and her favourite character was bayleaf
The oldest trick in the book... I love it. can remember someone doing that at the Fire Station class
Really?
i think of all the firefighters on london's burning, Bayleaf is the one I would want to rescue me the most
😢😢😢😢😢❤❤❤james hazeldine rip. Sexiest firefighter ever in LB❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’m sure James (Bayleaf) loved sliding down to the prank!

Even Nick was in on it.
Of course he was; he's the station officer! What did you expect?
Picard freight haul.
that's really sad:'( :-\
And as Kevin answers phone, I thought it was that his girlfriend was dead by his brother. It wasnt; she killed him in self defence
She didn’t kill him, his brother is last seen in the police station after the event
