    I recommend buying hydro fins, they are firmer so get fin socks but they are a fast fin.

    First off, practice pulling up or pushing up your legs with your arms from prone position, then putting both knees in the middle or just below the middle of the board. After repeatedly practicing on sand, hit the shore break or some ankle busters and practice just propping up on the knees to get muscle memory going. Then once you are good enough to do that on bowling waves, try slowly sweeping your left or right fin out of the water and slap the board just in line with the leash plug.

    i bodyboard on small waves in Maryland and ill try to drop in, but ill get caught on the top of the wave. the waves are no higher than one metre and it throws me over with the breaking wave instead of going down the face. any tips?

    • @benjamina4432
      @benjamina4432 8 лет назад

      I would say lean forwards when you're at the crest of the wave. if that doesn't work, try paddling and kicking harder

      Do you understand the clock?
      12.. 3... 6... 9...
      The clock is used for getting into a wave as well as riding it, it is important to see yourself dropping in at 10:45, 11:15 angle/ approach.
      Using the clock is a beginner/advance tool.
      If it's wind then dropping in at an angle is a must.

    needs more coverage of the paddle-in. So hard to see what it looks like BEFORE catching wave. Positioning etc. It's equally hard with surfing videos as well. Positioning and paddle shouldn't be underrated

    can I use snorkeling fins for bodyboarding?

    • @grifalton
      @grifalton 10 лет назад

      no, they're too long. you want short and wide fins

    • @50nollieman
      @50nollieman 10 лет назад +1

      One came off :( Time to invest on some wide fins. What would be the reason I would want to buy wide fins?

    • @grifalton
      @grifalton 10 лет назад +1

      you want to choose from any kind of fins specifically for bodyboard. they're short to give you maneuverability and wide enough that you still have kick to push yourself. They should be stiff enough but have a soft pocket so you feet feel comfortable.

    This video has nothing to do with catching waves.
    Doesn't say anything about the lift you feel, when to dive forward to actually catch the wave or anything.
    It only talks about holding the board and left/right breaking waves.
    Very uninformative.
