Hi Glenn! absolute congrats for your hard work at demo'ing all these equipment for the community. I can't say how appreciated is this for me since you spent a lot of personal time and work in particular to show how to use all of them into a real world, real musician situation. Too often i ran into eye candy bell & whistles demoes that cannot give an hint on how a piece of gear can really get to the "service" of the musician and not the contrary. You're definitely a master at that! Thanks for feeding my passion for playing and gear. As a personal comment, i struggle in my real life having my little daughter striken by leukodistrophy so music is my island where to find a bit of peace and relief from everyday's pain. The time i can spend during my evening watching your latest demoes, playing and why not, feeding my gas for next piece of gear, is what really helps me out to fighting everyday with my little angel all through her disease. Thank you so much, keep it going, my best regards from Florence, Italy. Thanks Pal!
Wow as always Glen, absolutely fantastic. I have spent many many hours trying to understand how to use the assigns and here you are using all 8....lol. Hopefully your patches are available to download. Also since you are definitely the mystro here both on picking and editing patches, can you tell me is it possible to convert patches from the ME-80, in this case the 12 patches from Casting a Shadow to the GP-10. I would love to have those Hank Marvin - The Shadows patches. I play a lot of his stuff. Actually learned how to play guitar with his music. Thanks again and as mentioned before it is always a pleasure just to watch and listen to you play. Tommy from Pickering, Ontario, Canada PS wish you were playing in my area...lol
Hey Glenn back again....lol Just found your patches for sale and gladly purchased them. Now I would also gladly purchase the "Casting a Shadow" Me-80 patches if you were able to convert them to GP-10...lol Again many many thanks for the great patches. I look forward to your videos. Tommy
I have had the GP-10 for a year now but have been to busy to get into it until recently. It's a fascinating little yellow box but it does take some time to learn how to use it well. I have watched a lot of RUclips videos about the GP-10 but yours is by far the best I've seen so far. Thanks for sharing and I love your playing! Keep it up.
Another Awesome offering by YOU ! Great Work as always........My GP-10 just arrived today and your videos convinced me to pick one up......Looks like you've covered most of the bases with these patches and your great videos..........Thank You For your HARD hard work.........much appreciated......
***** Ok................I just hooked the unit up for the first time and haven't installed the GK-3 yet......I ran through all the patches twice and liked some things ok enough...I immediately downloaded the editor librarian and bought your patches................WOW.......Talk about bringing this thing to life.............I just made a few adjustments on the noise gates for the over driven patches and a few small tweaks here and there.........So in less than a couple of hours I have plenty of great tones you offered and could actually go a play a gig with this machine.......Thanks for doing all the Heavy lifting on the tones and making things very affordable and simple....You Rock Glenn!
Dude! You're a great player... That funk bit and the country bits in the beginning were off the charts cool! Just now found you having bought a GP-10 (w GK-3 kit) a few weeks ago, I was looking for info about building custom patches and found you here on RUclips.. What a blessing to have done so.. Will be buying your patches for the GP-10 and almost certainly buying some of your recordings.. Will also be learning some of the stuff from this video! Thanks for showing it so clearly.. That's generous of you! Rock on man! You have a new fan! Mark
Damn, dude! I learned a tremendous amount just watching your two videos on the GP-10! I sent a note on the intro to the GP-10 (but it was attached to one of the kids e-mail). But, first, learned a tremendous amount on how to incorporate the GP-10 and then how to incorporate in to some of those cover songs (although your guitar skills are far above mine - I'm mainly vocals and rhythm. I'm good - but not your level good! Although I play some good slide). But this really helps as I have been on a quest for years now. Went through the VG-88 and simulator stuff, Line-6, James Tyler Variax, a fleet of real guitars and amps (AC-30, Fenders, Marshall, Blackstar - and every stomp box known to man! . . . Bringing 6 guitars to a gig (Taylor Acoustic, Strat, Tele, SG for e-Tuning Slide, SG for G-Tuning Slide, PRS or LP) - then tried James Tyler Variax, etc, etc). But . . . You've got it all covered here! I hope Roland at least gave you that unit as you are probably selling tons for them! One more quick question . . . . Are you then using monitors or In ear stuff at shows? I would think monitors to get the juice out of that rig. - Thanks - Dave
I was actually thinking - with the GK on th Variax - you can play on three amps - through the variax go to the pod into de DT 25 or 50 or whatever you got - (the dream rig as they used to call it) the GK -3 goes into the GP-10 into your amp of choice and then you still got a guitar out that you can run through another FX professor ( I still got my old prophesy) and a hotrod deville sounds tempting
Great job & hard work! Hey, noticed you have a DSL. I have a TSL but always keep putting it aside for a reason. The reason is, I cant switch my channels without needing the big Marshall 5 switch "multi pin" controller. This makes more for a "pedal dance" when using my boss-gt10. Is there a way or a plug, without adding midi controller, to simply have a 1/4inch in my gt-10 side, that will run into the "multi pin in" of the Marshall? Again, great job & keep having fun out there : )
Oh shucks, one more question... It IS Boss related though! I was monitoring via headphone out on my gt-10. As always, using 4 cable method to my amp, amp in "silent mode". But the sound was scratchier through the headphones than actually through the amp speaker. Which made me wonder; am I hearing my anp full capabilities after the post amp tubes? Or is it hissier because im only hearing the pre amp tubes & fx loop only? Am I even supposed to be using the headphones out this way? Changing the output mode from "combo loop" to "headphones output" only added more hiss. again, thanks for all your hard work. The countless hours I spend tweaking this stuff makes me really wonder "how the heck does he have time in a day to be tweaking soooo many different devices, amps, guitars, +maintain a healthy balanced social/family life? Gilles
Hi Glenn. If you had to choose between the gp 10 and the gt 100 as a live pedal which one would you choose? How do you connect the gp 10 with your amp? And hopefully the final question how can i buy your gp 10 patches.
I use an Alesis Alpha 1000 watt speaker with the GP-10 just for stage sound and I send a stereo feed out of the headphone jack right into the PA. The GT-100 is way more advanced from a Guitar Only solution but I love the GP-10's guitar modeling. There is a link under the video that goes to my download page. Thank you very much.
Hi, great demo. I used many Boss Pedals: OC-3, Boss Reverb, Boss Digital Delay, BOss Guitar EQ and Boss Bass EQ, Boss Synth Pedal. Can this the BOss GP-10 replace all of these pedals? Thank you for your response.
Glenn, Is there a song related to your nylon custom patch or are you just playing some chords that sound very nice. Some lyrics w guitar would be awesome. Thanks!
Yes that's Silent Lucidity by Queesnryche. It's a Masterpiece for sure. See for yourself: ruclips.net/video/jhat-xUQ6dw/видео.html&ab_channel=QueensrycheVEVO
So if you could only have a GP-10 or a Variax for guitar modelling and Alt tuning which would you choose? I know you said the GP-10 was better as far as latency. Great Videos! Thanks!
Hi Glenn, great guitar playing, and Nice patches. I have stops boxes, but I need a modeling pedal in the chain, would you recomend this unit for that purpose? I'm leaning towards the digitech rp 360, it has whammy, wha, harmonize, chorus and swell. I dont have a midi pickup, would this unitsound good thru normal pickups? What you recomend? Many thanks.
Hi I have downloaded your patches it sounds amazing however when i connect direct to Pa It does not sound the way it sounds on Headphones or through Amplifier could you please help me how you route to use maximium potential of your lovely patches, Do i need to connect to DI box before the mixer or something else. One more help i need is how to use a external pedal or processor with Boss Gp 10 as it does not have Fx loop ... You mentioned in a comment that its poss could you please advise the routing too.
@@GlennDeLauneOfficial finally found this video again after 6 years. I had bought your patches. Glenn my man, that solo with number 32 patch - GD-LEAD-DLY still gives me goosebumps. Used to always have it at the back of my mind. Finally came across it again. Could you let me know what's the backing track on that ?? If it's possible post a link for it. Big fan. Love your patches
Hi Glenn. Went to website to purchase the GP-10 patches, but didn't see the Nugent patch on the list. That's one that I really wanted. (we play strangle hold live)
Glenn, can that GK pup mount on a Tele with an ashtray bridge? I looks like I would have to mount it behind the bridge pup and I see you have your GK mounted on the bridge side of your bridge pup?
Hey Rob, Yes you could mount the GK pickup between the bridge pickup and the bridge. You've got about an inch between that bottom pick-up screw and the bridge so you could mount it right against that bottom screw. The GK pick-up is about 1/4in. wide.
Hi Glenn!! Great video as always!! I would like to ask you if the boss gp10 has better amp modeling than the gt100? Furthermore, have you used the gp10 with softsynths and if yes how the latency holds up? Thanks :)
The GP-10 has the same amp modeling as the GT-100. Only one sound engine though so you can't run dual amps like in the GT-100 but you know what?? I think I like it better. I have it in my main board now and I really like it. I have not used it with "softsynths" though so I can comment on that.
***** I've always wanted a guitar synth since i've heard maiden's somewhere in time and priest's turbo and i was also looking for a device for direct recording!! The gp10 looks like a great all in one deal!!
Sounds great Glenn. There was a hint of it in the Alice in Chains cover, but how is the palm muting on the modeled guitars? Is it round-ish like the variax or does it have more of that magnetic "chunk" feel to it, for lack of a better word :)
Hi Glenn Thanks for Demoing of the BOSS GP-10 and your patches... And for the information on the the FS-5U I plan on getting them with the unit next week... I have a question for you though... I was wondering if knew if the FS-6 would work with it as well instead of getting 2 FS-5Us? Just to save a couple of bucks maybe
Yes Rob, the FS6 will work. It needs batteries though and if you leave it plugged in it will drain the batteries. I got tired of have to remember to unplug it. That's why I like the FS-5U's.
Thanks for getting back to me so soon :) Too Funny... I do that with my (Electro-Harmonix) Switch Blade+ all the time too, so I feel your pain... LOL Thanks Again! Rob
A question: from what I can see the GP-10 has only one expression pedal input so how are you connecting two FS-5U pedals to the unit? Do the two pedals connect eventually to one plug? I see one gray and one red colored lead. Or do they connect to a stereo plug? Did you have to wire that custom yourself or can those be bought off the shelf?
Glenn, good explaining, I have a problem with mine where it won't let me run a fourth pedal,it defaults 3&4 to the same patch,I tried setting an o/d on three and a trem on 4 but no dice one or the other.I downloaded some of the superb Alex Hutchings patches from tone central but they do not work as they are demo'd he has a triple stage bender patch and an st-lp twfer that are awesome on the demo but the download just nothing like it should be.I will be after yours soon as the editor drivers catch up with the new OS X 10.10 (pain ) .
Yes that's because you have the settings of the first 4 CTLs in the CTL/EXP menu to override the assigns. Those 4 CTL's in the CTL/EXP menu should be set to "Patch" or OFF. Then that will allow the assigns to work. Or if there are no assigns set you can use the CTL/EXP menu to assign those functions to the pedals from there. Problem with that is none of the other assigns will work for those pedals. That's why it's always better to leave those set to "Patch" or "Off" and use the assigns to do what you want.
***** Thanks glenn,as soon as I get back up with windows 7 I will download your excellent sounds,I think the GP-10 feels far better than the GT100 and the accounts sounds are way better than the V/axe so that goes, I am thinking maybe the next version of this pedal will have a second effects chip' and also a user bank then it will be almost perfect. GP-20 ??MAYBE
hey man, thank you for this demo. i have one question. since I really want a quick way to get alternate tunings , how quickly can you change the tuning ? I mean I play tradition music here on stage and they change keys all the time. so how quickly can I transpose/alternate the tunning? also, can I asign those extra 2 switches just to change the scales? like in keyboards? one goes + and one goes -?
Hello, I have the GP10 so I can give you this information, the change is extra fast, you can assign it to the control pedal or in an another patch near the one you've used until that moment.
Thanks for the demo. I just received mine and ordered your patches. What kind of thumb pick do you use? I have tried using one in the past and it would sometimes slow the upstroke on the stings. Thanks again. Great patches!!
Glenn, I downloaded your patches from your site and when I went to tweak the mic settings in the cab section the editor would not display the mic settings only the cabs. do you know why this is? this only occurs in your patches, the ToneCentral and my personal patches seem fine and display the mic settings. I am perplexed.
Jimmy Williams Thank you Jimmy, Wow, no I wasn't aware of that. What happens when you switch to another amp and come back to the amp I have in my patches??
Although I do have a little secret trick to the Cab and Mic settings to make them sound more like a real amp but you should be able to tweak them and they shouldn't be hidden. Unless there is a bug in the Tone Studio software!!
I found a glitch in the editor software, when you feed a little of the direct level with your mic level you loose the mic settings in the cab section. you can still access the settings from the GP-10 internal menu.
After messing around with it I found out it only happens when you change the cab size from "Original". I am groining to shoot Roland an email to inform them of the bug.
JONATHON SEAGULL Yes they work Very good going into the FX loop of any amp. Here is an example. I am using the GP-10 going into the FX return of this JCM900 and I'm using one of the patches in this bundle called GD-Marshall. ruclips.net/video/RtLsPOit5Hw/видео.html
Glenn I’m interested in using this with HX Stomp strictly for alternate tunings and guitar modeling, is this item obsolete or do you think it still offers value? Would like to use and modeling effects and Irs from stomps. Does this sound crazy or feasible. Is the latency bad?
@@kane6529 I still use mine. I don''t use it for the synth sound but to do easy tunings and guitar modeling. I run it in the effects loop of my boss gt 100. Sounds great and no latency, at least on tunings and modeling.
+Patrick O'Neal Well it's easy ti switch but you can only go up one or down one. That's why I found it easier to use the extra pedals so I can have several sounds within one patch.
Great patches, I just ordered them from your site. I was wondering if the Boss Dual Footswitch FS7 would work as well as the 2 foot switches you talk about here? www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FS7
+Pieter Loose yes the Solo switch comes in handy for that. You can adjust it on the fly too during a gig in case you need more of a boost. I usually put the Solo switch around 40% which roughly translates to about a 5 to 7db bump.
Hey brother Glennie, i believe you'd make an excellent Helicopter Pilot & Fixed Wing Pilot as well because you're quite smart & laid back enough that you don't seem to panic if & when something may go wrong and even though you have "Skills to Kill" you're loved & respected because you're not insecure about who you are and absolutely Zero Ego!!Ha!!Thanks for bringing your kind Soul out for us to enjoy & learn from!!GodBless you Glennie.Oh hey by the way can you dig this incredible album that i really think you'd nail absolutely!! Great demo and patches Glenn! Love my GT100 (with your patches of course) but this looks really cool. Wondering how this GK setup would sound with humbuckers. I have a PRS Custom 22 with 59/09's. Most of the time I run direct to console for live use. What about external pedals? I use an EP Booster in front of the GT100 and a Strymon Timeline in the loop. Looks like no loop available on the GP10 but I could run the Timeline after it I guess. Thanks for your response!
Ron Singley Yes you could but you would have to run Mono. I run stereo and I have figured out how to be able to get 4 different sounds from 1 patch so it works for me.
This is single greatest demo of GP10's guitar tone possibilities on RUclips. I've watched ALL of them.
Outstanding playing. Thank you for doing this.

I see one gray and one red colored lead. Or do they connect to a stereo plug? Did you have to wire that custom yourself or can those be bought off the shelf?
It's a standard Send/Return cable. stereo on one end and splits to two mono plugs. You can get those on Amazon
Just curious , no effects loop ? Your running this through a tube amp as well ?
Does the gp10 sound realistic enough fir studio recording? Do the electric 12 string and nashville tuning patches sound realistic?
actually they do sound pretty darn good.
Glen, great stuff, can you share with us what the song/track is when you use the Bogner with Dist and clean settings.....???
Thank you. Oh that's Alice In Chains. I forget the name of the song but you can find that here on youtube.
hey man, thank you for this demo. i have one question. since I really want a quick way to get alternate tunings , how quickly can you change the tuning ?
Hi Dave, Thank you very much. I use Dunlop Large Clear thumb picks.
I'll check them out. Thanks
You know I was messing around with that yesterday. Yes that is indeed a bug in the Tone Studio software.
After messing around with it I found out it only happens when you change the cab size from "Original". I am groining to shoot Roland an email to inform them of the bug.
Say Glenn. Could I use the GP10 to just output the guitar out to Either GX100 or a Helix? Almost as a Variax.
Ironically
Yes I think you can do that. Just make sure none of the smps or effects are on in the GP-10
sabes como cambiar el afinador a 440 de esa pedalera ?? Gracias
Go into the main settings, which is the button at bottom right. Tuner settings nested in there.
will these work okay going into an effects loop of a blues deluxe amp? Thanks man!!
***** awesome sounds and playing. Rock on!
Hello, what is the title of the credits at the end of your video. Thank you for your reply.
That's one of my songs called "In The Light". It hasn't been released.
@@GlennDeLauneOfficial it's a shame it sounds really good. You haven't even posted a version of it on RUclips or Facebook?
Wonderful!!!
Do all patches use GK3?
Glenn I’m interested in using this with HX Stomp strictly for alternate tunings and guitar modeling, is this item obsolete or do you think it still offers value? Would like to use and modeling effects and Irs from stomps. Does this sound crazy or feasible. Is the latency bad?
For instance use your tele patch into the helix amps and IR? Is that possible?
@@kane6529 I still use mine. I don''t use it for the synth sound
but to do easy tunings and guitar modeling. I run it in the effects loop
of my boss gt 100. Sounds great and no latency, at least on tunings and modeling.
The HX Stomp is just another multi-effects unit. Just a glorified Pod with more sounds. This is MUCH more than that!
You can use impulse response technology to emulate other guitars and instruments, and will get a more realistic result
How easy is it to switch between patches or is that why you setup the extra footpedals?
+Patrick O'Neal Well it's easy ti switch but you can only go up one or down one. That's why I found it easier to use the extra pedals so I can have several sounds within one patch.
I assume the Boss FS6 (two non latching SWs will work as well...)
+Jack Loganbill Yes that works
Hi Glenn! the GP-10 has a piano patch? tnx
aldo federis No the GP-10 does not have a Piano patch. The GR-55 does though.
Si può usare compressore e over drive insieme?
he he i got the exact same thing - the GK on the Variax - pretty funny
Hey Glenn ---- I d/l'd your patches for my GP 10 but the editor and floorboard wont open them---help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+ROB MAIN Hi Rob, hank you Sir. Yes that file you downloaded is a Zip file so you have to unzip that to a folder and then you can load the patches.
Great patches, I just ordered them from your site. I was wondering if the Boss Dual Footswitch FS7 would work as well as the 2 foot switches you talk about here? www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FS7
Thank you John, Yes that pedal should work fine.
hi how i can get this patches please
You can get them from my website. Thank you very much.
how do u do that volume boost? solo switch?
+Pieter Loose yes the Solo switch comes in handy for that. You can adjust it on the fly too during a gig in case you need more of a boost. I usually put the Solo switch around 40% which roughly translates to about a 5 to 7db bump.
so u assign the solo swith to a ctrl
and also delay and reverb increase to the same crtr pedal?
+Pieter Loose Yes that is correct.
haven't found how you do those together though
+Pieter Loose You use the assigns for that.
Patch 10 nylon sounds like a banjo...
Do you still think this things a viable option for tuning and guitar emulation ? I’m wanting to incorporate it with my helix HX Stomp?
Could you just get a duel f7u?
Fs7u
Sure you can use that also.
@@GlennDeLauneOfficial do you still think the gp10 is a great tool compared to everything else out there now? I just got one
For anything in it's price range I feel it is a very good unit.
привет друг, палец в верх!!!)))
Спасибо . Привет из США мой друг
Never seen a guy play with a thumb pick.
Watch tommy Emmanuel
Glenn can you have your guitar tuned to E flat with this unit?
Yes you can especially if you have the GP pickup
