Only upgrade I did was upgrade to the new lights. So I’m a huge huge Hiniker fan huge. I honestly believe the Hiniker is the most underrated plow on the market. So I’m excited to see you went Hiniker and spoke the truth about them I know everyone has their own opinions and some guys like western or boss or whatever but I believe if they ran a Hiniker for one storm they’d never go back.
Do you ever run weight on the back of your plow trucks? I've always found a ton or more in the bed makes you able to plow in 2wd nicely and push just about anything. I used to load my f250 to max weight and it was unstoppable in just about any storm
I always enjoy watching your videos. In my opinion the V and Scoop plow do a very good job of scraping done to the asphalt and they look like they both carry about the same amount of snow its so close. I think i like the V plow a bit better for back dragging up against the curb/sidewalk because you can straighten it and get closer.
Hey Stan I'm pouting over the gmc quietness grrrrrrrr my pap was a tool maker for them for 43 years thats why I love em second is dodge....how about a shout out for Paul and caitlin we love the videos and were go getters like you guys thanks bub
@@Dirtmonkey out of curiosity. And this is from experience in the DC area during that big snow a few years back. I noticed down there private contractors would load snow into the bed of their trucks to get as much traction as possible have you guys ever done that?
Have you ever considered an adjustable width plow? I know there's a few companies who make them where each side about a 2 foot wing on each is hydraulically controlled where they can extend about a foot to a foot and a half wider on each side so a 8 foot plow can be turned into a 10 foot plow with a push it s button. So besides having that much wider of a plow when on the job site when going down the road you still have the typical normal width plow.
I wish you guys could teach the plow guys in the Northeast how to plow. We have piles of snow on every parking lot island. The way you guys clear everything and push it to one main pile is the way to go. You have more parking area. Great channel. Keep up the great content.

@@Dirtmonkey Stan sorry to correct you but Guinness is a Stout not a beer. Anyway I really like watching your snow plowing videos. I hope you found the snow! 😀🏴🇬🇧
Awesome video!! And thanks for the shout out for A&K Outdoor Services!! Also just a quick tip for you guys to keep an eye on that hiniker v plow I had one for 2 years 2018 it was brand new and had it in 2019, but after the first year plowing with it I started plowing my second year and made it till about January 2019 and then had some issues where that A frame of the plow connects to the actual blade it ended up breaking and the only thing holding the plow on was one bolt. Hiniker said it was a known issue with the v plow for 2018 not sure if they fixed it for 2019 or 2020 but just something to keep an eye on as it happened to me twice in the same year. Hard to explain but right up where the A frame connects to the blade there’s 3 bolts that go through the center pillar of the blade and that’s where it cracked. But love your videos and can’t wait until the next one!!
I would take the Hiniker, it looks like half the weight of Tim's plow. It would be a lil more forgiving on the front end. Stan , can you do a video on the charger? That thing is sick.👍
The only problem I've seen with the scoop plow is in super deep snow. I've got a 1/4 mile long driveway. When the drifting gets to be 2-3 ft deep you need the V plow to make a path up the middle in V mode first. If you do it with a scoop or straight blade you either can't get through or it pushes you off the side of the driveway. So there are definitely better plows for different applications
Great video. I am running a Hinker Straight 8 and a Western 7.5 Each have there goods and bad. you have convinced me the next plow will be the scoop plow. Hey shout out to your crew. Its seems they have taken to doing the videos really well. You obviously take the time to make good videos, but I have noticed your crew stepping up and giving alot of great info when they are running the camera. Good Job guys!
Nice looking plow. Around me it seems that everyone and their mother runs boss. It could be that they are made right here in the upper peninsula of Michigan. They are made about 2 hours from me and I have been by where they make them lots of times. Myself I still prefer the old chain to raise them and the old cable to control them. Might be dad had a western he had for 20 years and never replaced a cable or had the pump opened up. He beat the hell out of it also.
I had a western that lasted 11 years and a Hiniker that lasted that long- then rotted off the truck but the frame was good so I bought a plow off craiglsist (scoop) and ran that for another 4 years with no issues. Same wiring same frame. so that lasted 15-16years?
My Chevy truck was a terror- I went through 4 engines and 7 transmissions and 3 differentials before I threw in the towel. I would get one thing fixed and then something else would go wrong. Just kept happening on that truck.
I like my Hiniker V plows (older), simple hook up and go, no external switch to mess with to hook up, or spring pins, plus they have great controllers.
Awesome video guys👍 I was picking a new snow plow this year. It was between the Hiniker scoop and the Boss EXT I went with the EXT because it is expandable to 10 ft. Still a simple design. Lots of guys like the western wideout but it looks like to much work to repair. God bless👍👍

Great video as always. I looked at the Hiniker Scoop but found a Boss Straight blade with scoop wings that I think does a similar Performence that came with my 2002 Dodge.
Hey stanley. Another great video. Do you think you could do a video on the history of your companies? How they evolved to where they are at now and what you learned along the way? I would like to hear you tell some old stories. That would be a great video :) thanks as always for putting out these great informative videos, they help a lot.

I started with a Hiniker scoop. Loved it. Took a bad hit while it was angled going over a hidden utility lid that the black top eroded away from the edge. Trip edge couldnt fold properly... ripped the left cutting edge clean off. My teeth still hurt.
I’m addicted to your snow plowing videos. I hope RUclips takes over for TV entirely some day. The organic footage and experience provided by a real person with a real personality is just a million times better than the fluff on tv.

Good video Stan. I am still running old school meyer ez classic plows. have a 7.5' with wings and it does pretty good. It's a little over 9 foot mounted to a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 hemi, long bed crew cab. I noticed your snopower looks bent and banged. I bought a brand new one this season used it for some light storms. One day cleaning my own yard was backing up in scoop postion 2-3mph very slow and wing caught frozen snow and didnt release in the hydraulic cylinder. Twisted and bent like nothing. Sno power wont warranty the panel called it impact damage. Im not a happy customer paid 13k Canadian dollars to have it do that in the first 10 or less work days. Love your videos just wanted to tell you about my story. Thanks Dirtmonkey for all your videos
@@Dirtmonkey I never even heard of them until i saw your reviews on them. Everything i love about them except for this hiccup. I believe they should have taken care of me as it was not an impact. The sales guys from the dealer in Michigan even went to bat for me. Gunna cost me 1k to get a new one home
I made my own flaps out of an old conveyor belt reinforced with some flat bar stock to keep them from flapping and stiffing them up! That way you can make them wider then the ones you can buy! The only issue is punching out the bolt holes in the belt !!! Try that!!!
Used Hiniker for 12 seasons. Found their hollow trip edge pivot bars were a bit weak. Replaced with solid cold rolled, no further issues. Now, after ten (12) years in service, just noticed a crack in the truck mount prong just aft of its annoying 'notch'. The wings have always been flimsy too (on the retract) Still getting monies worth from it.
Based on your video, flip a coin, they both worked well and about the same. Cost and simplicity may be the deciding factors, but this challenge was in a wide open parking lot. We have numerous single driveways between houses. If a rental is left empty for awhile or a city property needs to be opened up, then the only tool for the job is a V- plow! All other blades fail. Crusted iced packed snow too deep for a straight blade can push the whole rig into the building. V-blade lets you cut through to then back blade out Of course that is a very specific situation not everyone has to confront.

That's awesome! Ive got you on the shout out list bro. Keep an eye open.
@@Dirtmonkey out of curiosity. And this is from experience in the DC area during that big snow a few years back. I noticed down there private contractors would load snow into the bed of their trucks to get as much traction as possible have you guys ever done that?
Loved watching this video, looked like fun. Thank you for some Sunday entertainment this boring day In Ohio.
Glad you're here brotha 👊
Love seeing videos of your property up north “gods country” what’s the history on that old cemetery that is there?
I’m so motivated I’m buying my first snow plow truck you’re been so motivational
Neat stuff , Stan! How often do you get to see a snow plow actually rolling snow from that vantage point? That’s really cool to watch. Thanks for the great content.
Actually thats the first Time I have ever seen a plow roll snow like that.
I'm looking foreword to seeing what you do with your property up north. You guys really know how to make winter fun. I love seeing people making work fun. Life is too short not to find the fun in everything.
Thank you! Ive got some videos in the works on my property up north.
Battery to low got a 2019 ram truck wouldn’t go out of first gear an traction wasn’t working until I charged the battery
I've plowed with my astro van for two years now. Just a super light duty snowbear manual angle and winch lift, but it does the job and is quite the show
Nice to see that you did something fun after that nightmare of cutting wood. 😂👌
Oh yeah! I needed a change for sure.
@@Dirtmonkey you should do a video explaining how/ what you think when plowing a lot. (What patterns you use)
Great equipment for the snow and a great video , but man that car of yours steals the show it’s like something out of Fast and Furious 👍 Tam.
Stan you read my drink of the day Guinness beer post. It’s on your efi snow thrower video
I did read it. but don't remember it specifically. FYI Guniess is my favorite beer of all time
@@Dirtmonkey Stan sorry to correct you but Guinness is a Stout not a beer.
I did a video on the challenger a few years back. It looks like a mad max car but drives like a dream. Have a great week bud!
CT? haha down here we get like a foot of snow with no warning ! shoveling ain’t it for my back but it gets the bills paid
@@Dirtmonkey always nice to have things that last. Hard to find now days everything is made to be thrown away.
Nice one Stan as usual. 👍👍👍🏴🏴🏴
yes the best i have ever had i have had all but the chevy and boss have done the best!! oh do you no the arwe going elektrick i 2035
My Chevy truck was a terror- I went through 4 engines and 7 transmissions and 3 differentials before I threw in the towel. I would get one thing fixed and then something else would go wrong. Just kept happening on that truck.
@@Dirtmonkey what model/year..?
1979 3/4 ton. Dont remember much else about it.
I hear Dodge trucks have overpriced parts? Is this true?
@John Lawson ok mr (bingo-bango herky-jerky flippy-flappy guy wth does that mean
You are the MAN . Always awesome videos brother.👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Appreciate it Joseph 👊
Have y’all ever thought of putting your plows on pallets to be able to move them a little faster without the truck?
Yep- we normally do.
I like the hinker scoop plow are better than some of the other plows out there in colorado
Its one of my favorites but to each their own. Some people prefer other kinds of plows.
Even though I’m a kid
Thats awesome!
Love watching equipment push snow and earth! Very relaxing
Glad you enjoyed
I like my Hiniker V plows (older), simple hook up and go, no external switch to mess with to hook up, or spring pins, plus they have great controllers.
love how he got stiffed on a ship date and STILL ADVERTISES THE COMPANY! thats a loyal customer!
Enjoy watching all your videos. Great way to end the day. Give me a shout out from Syracuse ny
Thank you for everything you have help me with build and fixed.
Appreciate ya Gary!
Thanks for the video. Snow plow videos are the best
You bet Ive got some more getting ready to be released
@@Dirtmonkey Sweet. Can't wait
Nice work Stan!!!! Show them the old dog 🐕 still has a few new tricks!!
😂👍
Awesome video guys👍 I was picking a new snow plow this year. It was between the Hiniker scoop and the Boss EXT
I went with the EXT because it is expandable to 10 ft.
Still a simple design. Lots of guys like the western wideout but it looks like to much work to repair.
God bless👍👍
I'm looking to build a plow for my snowcat and love that design after watching this! stupid simple always wins in the end!!!
yes- I agree
I want to see more jack-knife videos. Lol. Cant wait to hopefully start plowing next winter down here in flat land illinois. Your videos are the inspiration behind that idea. Thank you. Nice job on the video quality.
Great video as always. I looked at the Hiniker Scoop but found a Boss Straight blade with scoop wings that I think does a similar Performence that came with my 2002 Dodge.
Yep- It probably would work about the same- its the same concept at least
We are debating on buying either a scoop or a v plow for one of our trucks this helped a lot!
Hey stanley. Another great video. Do you think you could do a video on the history of your companies? How they evolved to where they are at now and what you learned along the way? I would like to hear you tell some old stories. That would be a great video :) thanks as always for putting out these great informative videos, they help a lot.
Watching those two plows roll snow is so satisfying!!
Agreed 👍
That was one awesome video, and I'm now looking at a new hinker for my new 19 f250 coming from a Meyer, then western. Thank's boss man!!!
Thank u for video I live in up state NY Carthage NY we have so much snow u would love it here an we need guy like u plowing we have a bunch of dummy’s plowing love ur channel bud
Love the ram snowplowing videos, keep up the great work👍🏼
Glad you like them!
@@Dirtmonkey plus you definitely need some new tires to bet him 😂
Dead even tie in my book. All comes down to driver preference and who's writing the check. Fun video.
Im with you- Pretty much preferance . Best👊
When I was laid off from electrical work in 2010 I plowed that winter. I ran a blizzard speed wing and I am with you Stan it was much easier to operate.
Shout Out: I've been watching your channel sense you were at 200k sub. I have learn alot from you. Keep up the great content.
Awesome! Thanks for sticking with me
Way better then any network television crap we get.
I feel like he can get his own tv show I’d be fine investing in a way just for him to get on the air. He has by far the best content that doesn’t get old and heck he’s not like the ones that fake everything he actually cares about his viewers and what we want
He's kind of a holmes on homes character. Correcting peoples mistakes helping the customer do it right
Yeah we have one of those larger Milwaukie impact's they are handy when we loose tires on our dump trucks mid job. No air no hoses we love it
Both of those plows done a great job 👍. Be safe and stay warm 👌.
Thanks 👍 . You to! Stay safe and warm.
Good video Stan. I am still running old school meyer ez classic plows. have a 7.5' with wings and it does pretty good. It's a little over 9 foot mounted to a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 hemi, long bed crew cab. I also have a old school 95 Toyota 4runner with the Meyer 6 foot tube mount to get residential driveways and tight spots.
Definitely enjoying these vids daily catching up and the series on the trucks was great. I’m a GM man but you truly have me seriously looking at those Rams now. I just missed a terrific deal on a 250 Ram with a Western ‘V’ plow up front..wish I have seen yours a week sooner as I already pulled the trigger on my Fisher XV2 super ‘V’ Threw that up front my Yukon and really love it! I can really sneak in those tight lots and the like. Just awaiting my new torsions to be installed and my rear air bags as I like to carry plenty of weight(tools, winch, sand etc.) in the back. Keep cutting out these videos 👍👍 I’m hitting the good buttons for ya as they deserve it. Take er easy king monkey and ‘stay blessed’..as for me I’m awaiting more snow and my shout out.😉
Four Seasons PM up here in T. Bay Canada 🇨🇦 (right across L. Superior from you) 👍👍 🙏4 snow ❄️
What about cleaning up square corners with the scoop plow? It might take more time to do final clean up around curbs.
Love the video! Would love to see the side by side plowing walks or something. Keep up the great work
Noted! Thanks for the suggestion.
Im sorry to hear about that. I have abused my sno power for years and not a single issue. That kind of surprises me.
Thanks stan. Great video. Keep them coming. 😂🇬🇧
Gotcha 😀
Based on your video, flip a coin, they both worked well and about the same. Cost and simplicity may be the deciding factors, but this challenge was in a wide open parking lot. We have numerous single driveways between houses. If a rental is left empty for awhile or a city property needs to be opened up, then the only tool for the job is a V- plow! All other blades fail. Crusted iced packed snow too deep for a straight blade can push the whole rig into the building. V-blade lets you cut through to then back blade out Of course that is a very specific situation not everyone has to confront.
Enjoyed the video Stan! Love these longer videos
Sweet! Happy to hear 😊
