@@buggscarrot9557 how else would you build it? I can see numerous problems with building a truck out of pure stainless like the Tesla. Stainless is more expensive and heavier, the latter also eating out of your max payload rating. It makes perfect sense to me why truck bodies are built out of stamped sheet metal🤷♂️
@Ben T. the main issue with it is that all current after-market modifications aren't compatible whether it be a salter, a plow, or a toolbox. Additionally, there aren't all that many dealerships and you could have a long drive to get parts for it.
@@LifeRunner4000 not only is stainless itself more expensive (about 10x as much), also working with it is a major pain in the ass (read - also expensive). There's a good reason cybertruck looks like from an 80s video game, and it's not just the aesthetics.
Great content. You did yourself a big favor welding that plow frame to the truck. I always welded my westerns on nice and tight. Those tires definitely help but with that plow and big diesel engine on/in the front of that small/light truck body it could use a little something extra. Put 600-900 lbs of sandbags or something in the bed over the axle and that would make a big difference as well I'm willing to bet. Edit: We liked having a few old car tires filled with concrete. They stick to the bed better and don't slide around and beat things to death as bad while being relatively easy to load and unload depending on how big a tire you used.
It's crazy how you're allowed to drive with summer tires in the winter. Here in Finland, we are required by law to use winter tires on all road vehicles during the winter months, or whenever the weather requires it (meaning ice or snow). It means in practice that every road vehicle has two sets of tires. 80% or so of the winter tires are studded.
Remembering how the castle used to look, it was such a great idea to close it in. The difference in looks is night and day. Also laying new gravel also really improved the look of the property.
Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs are the best truck tire ever made. I've been using them for 10 years in Alberta all winter on all my 1 tons and will never switch. That hill would have been unnoticeable with them. Good luck!
A demo is in order. “. Great video. I’m glad I took a break for a while and come back to watch so many great new to me episodes. This is a great extended tutorial. . Theme. It can all look great. Andrew, my brother-in-law, used to put a load of dirt in the back of his pickup. Not saying you need to do that. But if you used your fork lift, to load a pallet with heavy load, it would give you really good traction. My brother in law was able in Minnesota , to drive thru snow up to top of his hood. At first I thought we were going to have to walk home, but it plowed right thru snow, without a blade on. I'm sure you have concrete blocks laying around, put some on pallet, and have it ready to plow. You will never get stuck again.😊❤

He's missing that Fuel 18 1/2 Impact - would take the truck tires off without the need for the monster he pulled out lol

Andrew when he buys a Tesla truck:
- So I've had this truck for 2 weeks, lets install a plow on it and go plough snow.
I can't wait for him to get a Tesla with all the safety features and shit they stuff in there.
Imagine trying to wire up a 12v plow system on that thing.
It wouldn't even be that long. First day.
Every time I hear him talk about how great the cybertruck is going to be I can't help but laugh. This is the same guy that installed a stereo with a chainsaw. Tesla will lock the doors remotely and come repo it when they see what he does to vehicles.
Good luck welding a plow hookup to the unibody Tesla... (I have one on order too)
Andrew might do well to collaborate with Rich Rebuilds when the Cybertruk arrives. I'm sure I'm not the first to suggest it.
"You got a way to get it back out?"
"Yeah I gotta....yes"
Much shorter answer than it started out to be.
I don’t miss northern winters and the rust they bring, but it was always a satisfying feeling clearing away the snow.
*Treats truck like a demolition derby car*
Andrew: "Why is this all dented in?"
he scraped the snow off his truck with a snowshovel with a metal blade. so yeah, I'm going to agree with you!!
@@davidanalyst671 doesn't change the fact 30-60K trucks are built like tin. I agree with Andrew , Cybertruck is my next truck.

He needs a salt spreader for the ballast 😂
put another leaf spring in the front i think
This concrete tire idea is big brain
I did pretty good keeping a 100 gallon auxiliary tank in the bed.
nah too many negatives with that, spend the 500$ and get a front locker be done with it, help in the summer on soft properties too
Was searching up plow truck installs and your video pop up. Damn… good content and love the fact you’re plowing with a manual truck.
“You gotta way to get this back out?”
“Yah, I gotta.....YES”
Love it!
Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs are the best truck tire ever made. I've been using them for 10 years in Alberta all winter on all my 1 tons and will never switch. That hill would have been unnoticeable with them.
Good luck!

I’m glad I took a break for a while and come back to watch so many great new to me episodes. This is a great extended tutorial. . Theme.
It can all look great. Cost a lot and still NOT work.
You need the right combination of things
for things to work . Things as simple as a taller narrower tire. Which most people know. And I’m sure Andrew knew he wasn’t going to have good performance
That’s what makes for the great worthwhile video . Incidentally where I’m from studs are illegal.

I found Andrew last week and I bet I watched 10 videos!!!! I love his content!!!
I love that you take Levi with you still even tho he seems to be in a little pain and can’t get around like he use to but it’s great to see a dog owner that treats his dog like I would mine, they get the best of life until the very end!!! Keep being such a great and genuine human Andrew.

He would be amazed what 600lbs of weight in the bed of that truck would do for plowing.
Exactly what i was thinking, tires and weight.2 must haves.
My 2wd truck plows through snow with 400 lbs of sand in the back and snow tires with studs in the rear 2
X10 put some weight in there
Bags of tube sand from home depot. Cheap and works awesome
I agree 100%
I've been plowing over 20 yrs at work
And we put either pallet of rock salt in bed or steel plates
But u need that weight for sure
one thing I learned from plowing in vermont when I lived there was weight in the rear end makes a big difference all the weight in the front makes the rear end light if you can put enough weight in the rear to counter the front you will be able to go anywhere.
whether you have a 4wd or a 2wd, good tires for the snow is always a must.
