      She’s dead, so she doesn’t even have to be told of Shame Dawson.

      I sucks that being British she isn’t familiar with Helen Keller because that was the one joke in the book that’s legitimately hilarious. Not to make fun of Helen Keller because she truly is an inspiration, but any school named after her is naturally going to be assumed to be a school for children trying to overcome severe disabilities.

He looks both pale af and photoshopped as hell like they completely smoothed out his skin so he looks plastic but didn’t color correct his skin tone 😭 it looks like someone’s first attempt at FaceTune with how smooth his skin is, how white his teeth are, how bright his eyes are, and how detailed and textured his hair is despite his skin’s complete lack of color, texture, and details (wrinkles, pores, blemishes, natural creases, etc)

    On one side I think the essay about eating disorders is great, especially because a lot of young people read this book. This could really help them. On the other hand, I can't feel sorry for Shane. He makes so much fun of the appearance of other people and emphasises when someone is bigger. This behaviour is not only gross but could worsen eating disorders if they have one. It's just something I don't understand about Shane. He should know what it's like when someone makes fun of your appearance, yet he makes fun of basically *everyone's* appearance. Just why?!

      It shows he never got over the mental effects of an eating disorder. He went through binge eating disorder then bulimia.
      Comparisons of yourself to others and being deeply aware of other people's bodies are both a big part of how some people experience the disorder.
      He also is gaining weight again so that cant be good for his mental health.
      He's still dealing with the disorders and that sucks for him but he's still making very rude jokes.

      this is such a common loop to fall into that i see many people, my mom, and even myself do. if people are insecure about something, they make negative comments about it in other people, and when people make negative comments about those traits on others, they feel insecure themselves, and the loop goes on.
      i see my mom make mean comments about young women's weights/shape all the time and shes the most critical of her own weight and shape. its a horrible mindset

    • @Bjorksbackyard
      @Bjorksbackyard 3 года назад +4

      I remember it was very common in the 2000s to make jokes about people’s physical appearance. Didn’t hurt less but it was commonplace and the height of humour if you’re immature. Like, unfortunately, Shane’s content wasn’t unusual, he and those who claim this are correct.
      I’m glad things have and are changing, it’s less acceptable to joke about appearance and just becoming less common to point stuff out that people can’t help. Even how people will compliment someone by putting others down, I see this happen less and less. Self awareness is a blessing.

    Just another comment on the ED chapter, bulimia also puts you at risk of eosophagal tears and in worst cases eosophagal ruptures and possible stomach ruptures. I've had BED, an b/p and an r. At the worst point of an b/p I was purging daily and I developed a tear. It was terrifying bc purging blood is so fucking scary. If you're suffering from an ED, please seek help. My teeth are fucked from purging and I'm constantly weak despite never being underweight in my 4 years of restrictive EDs. Eating disorders don't just affect skinny white teen girls, they latch on to anyone and they want you dead. Please seek help and recovery is possible no matter how deep you're in it.
    Much love 💚💚💚

    bit late, but wind moves because of heat (maybe other factors, but pretty sure this is the main one). Air moves in some type of circle (vertically, a big like hot water), hot air rises and cold air comes back down. The areas where the hot air was is 'empty' afterwards and pulls air towards it to fill the gap, causing wind. There are global patterns, the air is (usually) hotter around the equator, but there are also small ones. A local example would be that land heats up more quickly than water during the day, so the wind would go from the sea to land. Water, however, holds heat way better than land so during the night it'd go the other way around. Also things like cities, lakes, dessert and forests have a big influence on whether the air will get hot or not. Cities and desserts will heat up and cool down way quicker than lakes and forests will.
    I think the big global patterns are called weather cells, but I'm not completely sure about that, but I do know that the quickly changing weather patterns in the UK and The Netherlands are a result of being between 2 cells. It's of course more complicated than this, but this is the basic gist.

  • @sageberry3256
    @sageberry3256 3 года назад +2

    I don’t know if anyone will benefit from this but bulimia is actually more lethal (or maybe in a different way) than anorexia because there is a longer breakdown with anorexia. but with bulimia, especially if combined with restricting, leads to situations in which you throw up a meal that’s maybe the last amount of potassium in your body and you very quickly either die or enter a fatal situation
    i’m not trying to “should” anyone. i have suffered with ED for years and i just want everyone to be as safe as they can within the coping mechanisms they want to participate in

    Probably no one wants to hear it but wind is just movement of air due to different densities (because of different temperatures). The gases try to compensate the gradient in density because everything tries to reach a stable equilibrium point in the end.
    Also, nearly every molecule (or atom) on this earth has been here for millions of years and as mass is not destroyed, everything and everyone is made up of old ass hydrocarbon chains which might have been fish or a tree or maybe another person before.
