She was so great at her job! The best food tour person I've seen lately. She showed you guys so many different things to eat and knew all things culinary as well as history. And unlike others, I didn't find any misinformation about the food, either. She translated things properly for English speakers and she showed you how to eat things correctly. Awesome food guide!
Gotta love Vietnam! also a quick question if you don't mind! but I'm going to Vietnam soon for like 1 month, starting from North to South, and a little bit in the center, planning to do stuff like Sapa, Ha long Bay, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc, Snorkeling, etc So the question is, should I come with Mochila outdoor or Luggage? (I'm not sure if it's important to mention but I'll be putting quite a lot of food in my luggage/mochila, amount of food that last around 1 week, but it's not cause I'll be sleepin in the woods or something like that, but cause I can only eat my own specific food) Thanks!
What I like about Vietnamese foods is the amount of herbs and vegetables they use !! No frying. It's just look so refreshing like that. Love from India.
The herbs give nice aroma and flavor but thats about it. Vietnamese food also has many fried dish too, which are very unhealthy since like most countries in the world, they use vegetable oil/soybean oil, etc. to fry the food. These oils are incredibly toxic for health. In the past every used animal fat to cook, which are much healthier.
@@doodahgurlie Actually no, the fresh herbs and veggies do not help balance out the fatty stuff, actually in this case, OILY as they are cooked in oils. Overall, most people whom eat well will have better bowel movements by eating more fiber. Thank you for such a positive video about the amazing city and food of Hanoi! It’s soooo good to see tourists back after two long years of VN being completely closed. I’m an expat living in Hanoi and there were a few things you tried that I’ve never tried -- the worms and the red jelly fish. Seems like you had a great time on the tour and Wendy was such a fun and personable guide!
Something that you don't see alot of people mention is vietnamese foods are light on the stomach so you don't feel stuffed and can eat even more, the addition of fresh herbs in almost every dish is also a big reason.
Such a great video, guys! She's by far the BEST food tour person I've seen so far of all the recent food tour videos from various parts of Vietnam. She was super knowledgeable about the food, the history, showed you guys all kinds of foods (I wouldn't have eaten the jellyfish, either, but I'm glad she at least exposed you to it), etc. I cannot believe the amount of food you guys ate during the tour and aren't bursting at the seams.
Wendy was just amazing! We got so much more than we expected from the tour. She shared a lot of history and interesting facts about Vietnam with us. We were lucky to have her as our guide for sure 😁💕 and OMG we were so full!
Brings back good memories. I moved to Hanoi in 2004, from Korea, and spent 9 months roaming around the French Quarter. I miss that place sometimes, especially the coffee and food.
@@FloraandNote Korea is good, but it can be somewhat difficult at times. I honestly prefer my life in Thailand now, but I wouldn’t go back and change anything:). Love the vlogs guys. Keep up the great work :).

Haha you can bet we hung out with Adriana and Dylan in Vietnam, mostly off camera tho because we needed to catch up 😁 We have a new video coming on Sunday! Stay tuned 💕
When I hired a tour guide in Hanoi she told me she was a foodie about 10 minutes in. So we changed plans to have her show me and my brother all the good local food and shout her at the same time. At first she was very happy but when we arrived at the sixth place she showed us she looked very unhappy and ended the tour early. We later found out we scared her with how much we could eat and she couldn't keep up 🤣

Thanks so much, Dominic! It's a longer video for sure since Wendy brought us to soooo many places to eat 😂 Hanoi is surprisingly cool and pleasant. I think it'll get hotter soon but so far we need to wear a light jacket at night.. we're not complaining 😉
Love it !!! You two brought me joy in Canada! So exciting to see such a beautiful fun place. Wish to go back soon. For now you two are there to see, touch, smell, and taste the goodness of Vietnam for me. Looking forward to the next experience!👏👍😊😋
the food tour with a walk around the old district in cities opens our eyes ... wonderful idea for me to offer my friends opportunities to get to know my city and culture
Wendy is so awesome! Steph and Pete also used her on their Hanoi food tour and she showed them some amazing foods! If you make it to Hoi An, use the same food tour Steph and Pete used there because they are also fantastic in every way!
You’re not gonna taste dirt when you eat sea snails 😅 they’re from the ocean not the ground lol. When Vietnamese people eat snails, it’s actually sea snails.

We are with Note, no to jellyfish! Flora you are brave! Oh garlic and vinegar, great to cut the food poisoning, good tip! Vegetarian is sounding better. We could live on passion fruit which we discovered on our first trip to Vietnam.
Thanks for the great video. Vietnamese food was so good especially in central Vietnam (Hue) for us ;) def more flavorful than here in the US. Hoping to go back one day. Enjoy your trip ☺️
Food looks very delicious except for the worms and bugs... Maybe one day, I will be brave enough to eat them. Last year, I met one of my Vietnamese sisters for the first time and tried the Vietnamese style noodles...also very delicious. I hope to visit Vietnam one day soon. Great Video!
Idk if you’re still in Hanoi, but if you love dill, then definitely try cha ca vang long. They normally serve it with a fermented shrimp paste sauce, but you can just ask for fish sauce if you prefer.
I love love love buttered garlic escargot!! Quite rare for my country. I am Thai living in Thailand. Never been to France. May be I lived in France in the past life!🤣
You’re wrong! The snail that you french eat but Vietnamese dont, we only eat snail that live in the water (or in the rock moutain) And more, Viets and other southeast asian eat snail for thousands years; shell of snail was one archaeological signal for the site where human being resided in the far past in southeast asia
Hey guys, great video, brought back loads of memories for me. If you get a chance, you must try 4p's pizza. I would say in my humble opinion that this place has the best pizza in the world. I know it's not Vietnamese food but it really is quite amazing. The owner is japanese who makes Italian cuisine in Vietnam. He also makes his own cheese and his cheese pizza is incredible. Anyway, have a nice day.
As long as you smile, you will receive the welcome, cheerfulness and hospitality of the Vietnamese people. Vietnamese cuisine is very rich, delicious, it balances between meat, vegetables, spices, making Vietnamese dishes typical. When you get to know and make friends with Vietnamese people, they will be very attentive and hospitable to you. They are willing to invite you to enjoy the food, drinks, or take you completely free.
You guys did an awesome job with your food tour 😍… and the bowl with the snails they taste better with butter and garlic Escargot even though there was some foods that were touchy with you??? don’t feel bad I was the same way when I was in Hanoi … i’m glad you guys didn’t try to smoke on the long pipe I tried it that tobacco very strong … The couple that was in your video I just saw their channel wow small world
I recommend notto add butter on Bun Oc, it ll affect the aroma of wine rice vinegar and the taster of snail. Of course, the broth absolutely should be clear to enjoy the taste much better. Ty 😊
Thanks Lamar! We really enjoyed most of the things we tried... and even the ones we liked less it really was because of the texture. It's so new to us, so unfamiliar, but we're glad we gave it a try too.

This is my first time watching your channel. Instant subscriber!! This was a fun and informative tour you took... The best part was seeing the jellyfish and worm reactions!! I never thought of taking a food tour. But it's on my list of things to do now.
Welcome to our channel! 🙏😍 We LOVE doing food tours because we get to learn so much about the food and culture of a place! You might not enjoy every item you try but that's why it's exciting haha. Glad you'll give it a try next time when you travel!
I was researching about vietnam and found your channel. You guys have a very refreshing content and joyful style. Can you tell me one thing, looking at the amount of food you guys had in this food tour, was it too much for you or was it just enough? Also, would you recommend this food tour for a 1st timer, or going directly to some of these vendors and buying food from them?
If you're not familiar with Vietnamese food, then take the tour. They can show you how the food is eaten properly as a lot of foreigners aren't eating it properly so they will then think the food is bland. Viet food uses a lot of herbs, dips, etc. Also the tour guides may be able to customize the food you want to eat for a more enjoyable experience or find you the better tasting of that version of the food.
The food in different countries are very unique. That’s why I like to travel because I want to discover their food. I hope by next year they more open to foreigners so it easier to get in the country. I hope to see Vietnam next year.
There is a huge different in taste when you eat like Pho in Hanoi or In Saigon. North, Middle and South, all different in taste and dialect. Try and let us know what you like the most. and for me the best time to go is between Dec to March, where the wheater is not hot and ofcourse the Chinese newyear. Have fun.
I just watched your video about chiang mai yesterday and i book a flight to chiangmai recently lol. If you travel to vietnam againt and you go to my city hai phong i will become your tour giude
This was funny. Wendy's voice is so sweet and super cute.🥰 When she speaks I keep hearing "What type of Fok u give me? Love Fok, friendship Fok or quick Fok?" 😂 I'm sorry, but she does sound exactly like the woman in the Matt Damon movie.
They are such a sweet pair. So much fun. I may have to definitely do this tour when I return this winter. Oh and yeah, this is the second time i watch this episode. Thanks so much.
Hello! Watching you now: So many food memories come back to me going to Vietnam so many years ago: One place (mid country. I have forgotten the name😔) had deer/ venison tofu 😘 A place in Hué served me a yellow chicken curry over rice. Sprinkled with coursly grinded black pepper. But the pepper bits moved...(also a rat in that restaurant)😟. Amazing spring rolls in Na Thrang/Mui Ne. Best phô in HMC. Have a great journey you two 🖖
Going to Vietnam in June. Your video has provided a huge and vital piece of information about eating there. Although we do not eat meat, we are foodies for sure.
I don't really understand going on a food tour and then being hesitant to try things. 😂 Isn't that kind of the point of the tour? To try new things you wouldn't have otherwise tried yourself? Vietnamese food is so good too!
They probably should have requested only the most delicious foods there, but not the adventurous ones. But maybe they asked for the guide to toss a couple of adventurous foods in for kicks.
The tour guide is so lovely. She spoke very politely in Vietnamese too
Wendy is soo lovely! She also teaches cooking classes, that's why she knows so much about food and how it is all prepared :)
Wow! Thank you for your information. You also have the polite or formal form of speaking as Thai and Japanese?

Snails are absolutely delicious. I remember eating large steam snails in my Vietnamese childhood. Enjoyed the video!
We had an amazing time in Vietnam and we agree that Vietnamese people are so generous and helpful 😍
This is one of may favorite vlog ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️❤️
Amazing street food tour guys. Please share more 🙂
Thank you. Stay tuned, more to come :)
allways appreciate your updates. now in Vietnam enjoying local food and I must say tying local foods, good on you both. enjoy your travels. as always thoughts from Calgary
We have to say Pho in Calgary is pretty damn good too! Pho Kim and Pho Dau Bo 👍👍👍
@@FloraandNote good places to try! in calgary let me know where? Thanks
Wow you tried the jellyfish 😆 the food tour looks so interesting 👍🏻
Haha I surprised myself too 😂
been there done that enjoyed it so much am going to do it all over again October 2022
The food tour is so challenging 😅😅 Note, treat the Jelly fish as Japanese Sashimi😆 Anyway, thank you guys bringing us to this unique food tour. Surprise to see 2P1D. Please make a video four of you guys. See you and happy week ahead
thanks for showing a piece of vietnam to the world. i plan to visit one day and this is helpful
Hope you'll visit soon! So much to explore in Vietnam :)
Glad you'll give it a try next time when you travel!
thank you for reminding me all this hanoi street food,is really delicious 😃
Amazing tour in Vietnam, definitely want to go there someday.. God bless you
Hope you will, it's a fun country to explore!
Amituofo, Guanyin bless you too.
The pork noodles looks sooo bomb!
OMG I could eat that everyday!
Món trả dươi ngon quá, nó chỉ được ăn theo mùa
Everything tastes good when deep fried.
What a great experience! So many new things to eat!!!! I love ❤️ pandan!!! I believe those deserts were super nice!!!!
So cool!!! This was fantastic guys!! Great Idea
Thanks Aaron, glad you enjoyed it!
You are both such beautiful people. Amazing content. Love love love. ❤ ❤ ❤
Enjoy your videos in Vietnam so much, keep watching over and over 4 times
Aww thank you so much! We have a new video coming this Sunday 😁
Very nice street food video 👍
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Greetings from India!! You got a lovely guide, so full of enthusiasm!
Wendy’s the best!
Incredible vlog! Thanks for sharing ❤
Thanks for watching! 😊🙏🏻
Have fun.
beautiful, great vibe!
Nice egg coffee mustaches at the end. Has anyone told you Flora that you look like Suzanne Whang host of House Hunters.
Haha no, you're the first one! I'm a little sad because she looks much older than me 🙄
@@FloraandNote You are the much younger and prettier Suzanne Whang. She was an actress and a comedian too. She sadly passed away back in 2019
I just watched your video about chiang mai yesterday and i book a flight to chiangmai recently lol. If you travel to vietnam againt and you go to my city hai phong i will become your tour giude
Hope you’ll have a fantastic trip in Chiang Mai! We didn’t get to explore Hai Phong.. only know the seafood is super fresh 😍
Hiya Flora and Note, nice video. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching 😊
This was a very informative tour. And as always you guys have fun everywhere you go 😊
Your guide is so cute! 🌸💖
She's so sweet and super knowledgable! She's also a cooking teacher :)
I guess I feel safe to eat street food with her, you tour guide 😂 she is pretty ❤️
Wendy is the best! She also knows so much about food because she's a cooking teacher :)
Awesome video guys! Rice ice cream sounds good
I didn’t try the rice ice cream this time but I did in Phuket and it was really nice!
I really love your vedio it's simple and true and it's the best way.i sure many like it.
Thanks so much! 🙏🏻💕
Aww thanks!! 😍 Hope you give this tour a try, we’ve done it twice 😆
Wow, the tour guide speak 🗣 great English.
Hello!
Watching you now: So many food memories come back to me going to Vietnam so many years ago: One place (mid country. I have forgotten the name😔) had deer/ venison tofu 😘
A place in Hué served me a yellow chicken curry over rice. Sprinkled with coursly grinded black pepper. But the pepper bits moved...(also a rat in that restaurant)😟.
Amazing spring rolls in Na Thrang/Mui Ne.
Best phô in HMC.
Have a great journey you two 🖖
Huế, Nha Trang, Mũi Né, phở... "a yellow chicken curry over rice" maybe "cơm gà Hội An" in Hoi An Ancient Town.
You guys are insane. Love you both (and Wendy too!!). Godspeed!!!😉
Thank you Andrew 😊
I can say that this is my best video for today..... thanks for the uploads.... liked !!]][
Wow, thanks so much! We're so glad you enjoyed it! Please share with your friends 😊
Amazing video. loved it
Thanks so much! You guys do the best food tours 👍😀 Hope more people will get to experience it!
Going to Vietnam in June. Your video has provided a huge and vital piece of information about eating there. Although we do not eat meat, we are foodies for sure.
Hope you'll enjoy Vietnam! We can't wait to go back :)
I don't really understand going on a food tour and then being hesitant to try things. 😂
Isn't that kind of the point of the tour? To try new things you wouldn't have otherwise tried yourself?
Vietnamese food is so good too!
They probably should have requested only the most delicious foods there, but not the adventurous ones. But maybe they asked for the guide to toss a couple of adventurous foods in for kicks.
I am drooling right now guys :) thanks for sharing!
Haha thanks for watching DN!
