Any city bus can be turned into a school bus especially if it has an air conditioned unit in the back of the city bus that works perfectly without slowing the city bus down at all !!

I was very little in the late 1970's riding the Milwaukee GM TDH-5105 "Old-Look" buses with my parents. Retired in mid-1980.
The Milwaukee GM 5300 "New Look" buses lasted until mid-2001.
The 5301s were retired at the very end of 1985.
The unrehab 5303s were all retired by Spring 1987.
1600s in early 1986
1700s by early Fall 1986
1800s in early 1987
The rehab 1900s & 2000s lasted into the Millennium. All retired in mid-2001.

The GMC Old Look Buses and the New Look "Fishbowl Buses" actually sound identical.

GMC built some nice buses from the 1950's through the early 1980's. If only they had been handicapped accessible.
