    Andreas, you brightened my day. What a beautifully put together gift. The model, the filming, your bicycle trailer, the custom stand, the table launch, shooting through the sun, the soundtrack, the editing and your gentle commentary. What a combination. Fab.

    Beautiful build and great flights! Love the colors you did on this one - I still miss mine. Zaic had a similar-looking Wakefield in the Aug 1939 Model Airplane News. I've been thinking about building that one scaled down to 36" span.

      Thank you Michael. I tried to stay with the original with the color scheme, now I am very happy that the model is so visible on the green meadows. By the Wakefield, do you mean the New Yorker IV?

    • @michaelkelly7338
      @michaelkelly7338 Год назад +1

      @@rubberfly Not the New Yorker IV, although I like that one too. This article was titled "What to build for the Wakefield" and looks like a scaled-up version of the Utility Special with a slightly deeper, more oval planked fuselage. Text said it was christened "The Groundhugger". I haven't seen the plan on Outerzone yet, should send it in one of these days. Article had full size bulkhead and rib templates with half-sized layouts.

    Blue sky and a yellow-red plane: great shots of a great model. Congratulations, looking forward to seeing it live in the sky.

    Lovely aircraft - you are an inspiration to us all! I was particularly taken with your innovation in relation to the winding attachment where a nosecone is present. I have been fed up with hooking and unhooking the rubber motor on my model Mustang and have now fabricated something similar which works a treat. Not as fancy as yours, of course, but it does the job well. I look forward to watching your further clips and always hungry to steal good ideas!👍

    what do you cover your tissue paper with so it does not wrinkle?

    • @rubberfly
      @rubberfly  11 месяцев назад

      1. carefully sand the wood. For example, between the ribs and the leading edge should not be a gap, sometimes it needs a little filler. 2. at the beginning I glue only the edge of the surface and then shrink the first time with water mist. 3. if in the end even with thinned dope and with little heat there are still wrinkles, I cut out the paper until the next wood and do it again.
