I always have a smaller metal canister like 2,5-3 liter petrol in my trunk :) Once i was going from Germany to Romania and after i crossed the Romanian border i had no idea i don't have any gas station in like 100km I almost left empthy I was lucky with the extra canister in the trunk. As I do see the American market Nissan Cube is different than the European, I mean the extra trims u have there and the engine too. We have 1.6 petrol ones with 110ps, manual ones no Krome editions. Fun cars i love them.
I found out the hard way that the fuel gauge on my Vandura indicated about a quarter tank higher than actual level. It's indicating 125% full upon fill-up was a good clue, but I still ran out once while searching in vain for a filling station with diesel. Running the 6.2 dry necessitated pulling the doghouse to crank and purge the air out of the injection pump and lines, which was actually straightforward, but still annoying.
Those speakers you got are aftermarket. The OE speakers are paper cone, and unbranded. The only thing branded in the Cube is the RF sub. The OE speakers are also 2 ohm speakers, so likely those speakers you got are 4 ohm and wont sound as loud/good on the OE head unit.
Your definition of "out of fuel" and mine differ a little. =-] I love Junkyard upgrades, but I can't for the life of me find my car in any pick-a-part sites.

If I don't have to push it off the road or walk with a gas jug, it isn't truely out of gas. :)
Surprising that a Krom didnt have a video stereo, back up camera, and push button ignition. The SL does.
