    Great video. I'm happy to see you using the ToneX One with the GX-100. I've been using the ToneX pedal with the GX-100 for about 18 months now and I love this combo. Out of curiosity what is your input sensitivity on the GX-100 and input trim setting on the ToneX One? My settings are +5 and +1 respectively. I'm looking forward to more videos.

    • @DirectRecordingGuitar
      @DirectRecordingGuitar  8 дней назад +1

      Hey man, thanks for commenting. I kept the global settings of both as they came from the factory. At least these two captures I use on the TX1 sound really good with all my guitars. I adjusted the drive levels on both captures since the Rect was too intense and muddy, so I kept it around 10 to 11 o'clock. The Dumble wasn't clean, so I cleared it up by reducing the drive, adjusted volume, EQ, turned off the NR, Rect's comp, and reverb. Maybe these adjustments offset the +8.5 on the Trim. I'm really enjoying these two captures, and for now, I've ignored all the others on Tone Net, but I'll go back there soon for more. Regarding the GX, I show the input/output settings at 10:35. Thanks again, man. The TX1 presets with the adjustments I made are available in the video description. I tried adding them to Tone Net but couldn't… actually, I'm still not sure if it's even possible.

    I think that's a pretty cool setup. (Btw Love the sound around 7:50). The GX100 is unfortunately an under-appreciated unit. I greatly prefer it to the gt-1000. There's so much Boss could do For and With this unit. Also, because of its super low latency it's fine to put the toneX in the S/R. You'll still should be below 5ms. The only thing I wish it had is: balanced out/xlr out.

      Hello! Thanks! I keep the GX's SR volumes as they come from the factory. The GX's Global EQ is OFF. The TX1 trim is at +8.5 as it came from the factory and it works great on all my guitars, at least with these two captures I'm using. Free download of the captures I adjusted for use with the GX, link in description. 👊🔥🎸

    Hi DRG, very informative video. Thanks for taking the time to do this video. May I ask, for the last patch how did you get the whammy to sound so good? Did you put it right at the start of the signal chain and what other effects are in this patch?

    • @DirectRecordingGuitar
      @DirectRecordingGuitar  9 дней назад +1

      Hey, thanks for the comment. Yeah, at the beginning of the chain. I should share this preset here sometime. I used the TX1 in the middle of the chain, connected via SR from the GX-100. For now, this preset is for sale in the pack "Boss GX-100 patches for use with Tonex One" which contains 30 presets, link in the video description. And we also have it in the other pack "Boss GX-100 X-Ultra" where we only use the GX-100 (no external pedals) and we also have 30 presets in the Live Set. • @DirectRecordingGuitar
      @DirectRecordingGuitar  11 дней назад

      Exactly! With two TX1s, we can have two amps in stereo in the PA system. But we can't have both in the SR of the Gx. I think the GT-1000 has two SRs. That way, I believe we can have both TX1s, each connected to one of the SRs, position them in parallel in the effects chain, and have two amp captures in stereo on the L and R outputs of the GTk. Thanks for your comment, bro!

Since I got it, I've adjusted these two captures and have been using them ever since. I haven't had time to try others. Do you have any suggestions from Tonenet? If you do, just leave the names of the captures here, it will help with the 'filtering.' Thanks for your comment, man!

      @vomito72 11 дней назад +1

      @DirectRecordingGuitar I'm sorry I didn't have the time to explore too much ToneNet , I did imported many but without having the time to trying it
      I've got many captures for bass guitar from ToneNet because I couldn't find it anywhere else
      For the guitar I followed a suggestion to get paid Amalgam captures and I'm stuck with those at the moment ,
      I really like it and they do packs of 10 amps and it's not expensive,
      They are 20 DI presets, 2 for each amp plus IR cabs.
      I would say they are really good and I am still exploring those ...I mean to try 20 different amps with 2 different captures when all of them sound so good it is already overwhelming for me :) you know what I mean.
      I really love this pedal and the quality of the captures around

      👊🔥🎸 Thanks, man! I preferred the TX1 because of its size. My focus was mainly on the captures since I already have many excellent units here for effects. However, each person has different needs. They promised a great update for Tonex and TX1 later this month that will add modulations, delay, and more to the equipament. So, you should assess what you need and choose what fits best for you. Thanks for your comment, bro!

    • @steved1099
      @steved1099 День назад +1

      I had this same thought and went tonex1 and so glad I did. Once you master it, you realise that it's a VERY clever setup, and you can switch between 20 amps with a few clicks on the pedal. In reality once you have 2 ot 3 amps you won't be switching around at gigs. I would never change 4 physical amps on stage. Plus there is still all the Boss amps and dual amping - phew. GX100 and Tonex1 is my favourite setups in years. But as above consider if you want on the fly button switching of many amps. If so the full tonex may be better.

    • @DirectRecordingGuitar
      @DirectRecordingGuitar  День назад +1

      @@steved1099 Usually, in live shows, I get all the tones I need from just one amp. With the TX1/GX combo, it’s the Dumble. I really like Robben Ford’s sound and use it as a reference. I only activate the Rect from the TX1 once or twice, and that’s just because I have the option right in front of me. For the setlists I play at night gigs, I can leave the TX1 fixed on Dumble and get everything else from the GX. I’ve been using it the same way with the TX1/MG30 combo from Nux, and it sounds great. Plus, the pedalboard is smaller than when using the GX. :) ruclips.net/video/I8JVqXurN4o/видео.html

      Fala cara! Eu venho usando a GX sozinha desde que a peguei. Para drives tanto low quanto high gain venho usando o amp X-Ultra, compartilhei um dos presets que uso neste vídeo: ruclips.net/video/PiD6F75vNIk/видео.html Gosto muito deste amp. Sobre o combo com o TX1, eu usei no último final de semana exatamente como está no vídeo e foi muito bom também. Eu tenho meu preset principal na GX e o TX1 no canal clean (Dumble). Piso no CTL1 e tenho um "clean solo" com delay, reverb, etc... Se eu precisar de um drive, apenas piso no TX1 e já tenho esse Rect do vídeo. Se o CTL1 da GX estiver off eu tenho um drive pra riffs, se eu ativo o CTL1 eu tenho um drive pra solos. No CTL2 eu tenho um Tap Tempo delay e o tuner da GX está no próprio número referente ao preset que estou usando. Tanto faz se está no footswitch 1, 2, 3 ou 4 da GX. Se eu precisar de outro preset como um chorus, tremolo, harmonist basta configurar tudo e salvá-lo ao lado do preset principal. Eu só uso dois bancos na GX. São 8 presets e ao vivo passo a maioria do tempo no preset principal. Só saio dele em algumas músicas específicas. Nunca usei a MX5, não posso opinar mas usei o TX1 com a MG-30 e ficou excelente também, dá uma olhada: ruclips.net/video/I8JVqXurN4o/видео.html / Abração cara! Obrigado por comentar!

      A pair of Nux PA50 FRFR monitors is used during preset programming, and once they're ready, I test them on Yamaha HS5 monitors and JBL 1000 RMS PA-style speakers at high volumes, similar to live show conditions. Before making the video, I test all the presets I share here during weekend band gigs to experience how they interact with other instruments at high volumes through the PA. At this point, I make fine adjustments during the sound check. Only then are they ready to be shared here. :) I only use headphones to record what will be used in the videos. Yeah, what's shown on the bottom of the screen occasionally looks a lot like the Boss Tone Studio i was talking about on one of your other posts. I found it to be pretty useless. Literally everything I could do with the Tone Studio, I could also do with the amplifier without the Tone Studio software.
    It was also much easier to dial in the sounds I wanted using the knobs on the amp than it was trying to fool with all that stuff on a computer screen.
    There are supposed to be "patches" or whatever they're called, of other people's tones you can get, but I could only find, like, literally just one or two, & didn't like them at all.
    I followed directions on every video & forum post I read on how to get some of those tones but they're nowhere to be found.
