    Not totally unexpected really. There was no one behind Waldner, Persson and Appelgren who could pick up where they left off.

    waldner the best male player, Deng yaping the best female player of all time, nobody comes even close...

    • @NoSpeechForTheDumb
      @NoSpeechForTheDumb 10 месяцев назад +1

      Deng Yaping was good internationally because of her tricky fiddler game that foreigners couldn't comprehend. Domestically she was not very successful because fellow Chinese knew how to deal with it. Zhang Yining was the better overall table tennis player.

    if he's the best table tennis player of all time why has he got so many silver and not gold?

    • @philcawser
      @philcawser 7 лет назад

      He is arguably the best, though not the most metronomic performer, thus the silvers when he could have won more. A weakness for women & drink no doubt dulled his edge occasionally! At the highest level, the World Championships, he won medals over a 12 year period, significantly longer than any player in history (except Bergmann, just before & after WW2). This, along with his ability to surprise & delight with his play, is the reason for his following; and why the chinese fans revere him.

    • @NoSpeechForTheDumb

      Every tournament is a streak of "natural" selections, so in the final you probably meet the strongest opponent. Winning a final is especially difficult, everything has to work out.

    I Don't like JO. Waldner Coach ....!

  • @dadidadida123
    @dadidadida123 12 лет назад

    Jo plays like a penholder, although he uses shake hand bat. A lot of tinny tricks gave him easy points which saves energy, that why he remains competitive even he was 40+. Play using brain instead of mussel.
