This is great man. This is the best album since Iowa for me. WHY? Here’s why! It’s like all of their albums combined into one mature, thick, amazingly melodic and heavy albums. And I love it
A Liar's Funeral is my fav song atm. Though it keeps switching which is a sign of a great album.

thanks for this. slipknot helped me through a lot and i been a fan since the record store was handing out copies of MFKR back in day. a lot of people don't like corey but should check out his talk at oxford sometime on your own, love the man.

We are the same age. I'm happy I saw this. I am TOTALLY on the same page with you. It is a FANTASTIC ALBUM! It gets weird. I love that. So it fits with the whole Slipknot discography. Subliminal Verses and All Hope Is Gone are my favorites as albums. BUT I LOVE THIS SO VERY MUCH! It's still growing on me. I just really love your reaction. Thank you :)

I HAVE to see My Pain live. One of their best experimental songs and the instrumental is just fucking amazing.
I saw them on the Knotfest Roadshow a bit over a week ago near Chicago and Slipknot has their fastball back with their live show. There was a period where it seemed like they were going through the motions a bit and Corey's voice seemed to struggle live but this show felt like they were having fun again. The new stuff came off great live and they played Solway Firth for the first time live and it was crushing. It was a great night of metal with opening acts Behemoth, Gojira and Volbeat.

The liar in Liars Funeral is Corey himself, and it's another track dealing with his depresssion and self hatred, Corey Taylor (with other metal lyricists) is proof that metal isn't just abouit some guy going ham into the mic, metal has some of the most profound lyrics out there, that's why hip hop has gotten to me as fast as it has, because, while the music is different, a lot of feelings and themes are shared between these two genres

Tait Rundberg You are right about the placement of "All out Life" it fits perfect between a liars funeral and red flag. Because Liars funeral ends without leading into red flag. So many of the other songs lead in to each other. So I just put All out life as the last song. To keep the flow of the album. But now I moved it up. The album deserves to end with solway firth. Thanks for the great tip!

I didn't liked the album the first few times, but then it grew on me. I think they did an outstanding job with each and every track, experimental or not. Nice reaction!

Been a fan of Slipknot since their debut. My younger brother hated them at first listen but their talent won him over and now they are his favorite band. Such a great group of talent! Love their new album!

I love metal but never listened to Slipknot, I may try to listen to them soon.

I was originally put off Slipknot by the look. Give me 4 or 5 guys with long hair in all black or blue jeans, a la, early Metallica. "Unsainted" got me to listen to all the previous albums & there some great tracks all thru them. I'm not the biggest fan of the industrial sounds but I love the trash & groove metal elements.
With this album, the middle third and final third are my favourites. Only tracks I don't care for are "Birth of the Cruel", "What's Next?" and "My Pain". A solid 9.5/10 from me. My 2nd favourite album of theirs, behind Iowa. "Not Long For This World" really grows on you after several listens. It's my favourite on the album now. "Spiders" also grows on you (if I'm in a specific mood, it's perfect).

@@itsfatdaddyson4616 The Japanese version of the album has All Out Life appended to the end of it as a bonus track. Considering Insert Coin has Corey's "I'm counting all the killers" on it, I feel it does mess with the album more than a bonus track typically does, but it would be strange (although pretty cool) to have a bonus track appended somewhere else in the song.
