Hey guys! If it doesn't work on newer version of After Effects, make sure you have selected Quicktime in the Format dropdown at the top, it should work from there 👍 If you are experiencing an error with QuickTime player that won't let you open your video: ruclips.net/video/0LYNhB_YeTE/видео.html 👍
I was rendering huge .avi files for years, and now a simple format options > animation solved that haha. I liked and subscribed, thank you man, you rock!
Thanks for the video! This is how all tutorials should be. I'm tired of long videos where the first 2 minutes are just the guy asking to subscribe and hit the like button.
Anyone know how to export as a mp4 rather than mov and preserve the transparency? Quicktime won't open the mov file for me... and online conversion tools are rejecting it
Thank you soooo much. Finally one RUclipsr, who shows it correctly. Everyone show how to make confetti or stars blinking with black background. But not, how to make transparency for the using in davinci resolve.
It didnt work for me, any time i try to view the video file across different programs I get an error that it 'was encoded in a format that's not supported'
You're not showing how to export the animation out of After Effects. The only program you're using is After Effects. Saving the file with a transparent background in After Effects is the easiest part. Reserving the transparency in other programs is where most people (including myself) are struggling.
Here’s how you can create an MP4 video with a transparent background: 1. In After Effects, render your animation in the Render Queue as you normally would, but in the Output Module settings, select a format that supports HEVC (H.265). 2. Choose HEVC (H.265) as the format, and ensure that the output includes an alpha channel by selecting ‘RGB + Alpha’ in the Channels setting. 3. Export the Video: Once you’ve set up your encoding settings, you can export your video. Keep in mind that while this method works, not all players and platforms may support MP4 files with alpha channels. Therefore, it’s important to consider where and how your video will be used and ensure compatibility with your chosen format. MOV files with PNG or Animation codec are more universally accepted for transparency needs, but MP4 with HEVC might be a suitable modern alternative depending on your specific requirements.
These are the exact settings I've found everywhere and tried to use - but even short, simple full colour animations (a photo in a circle with a drop shadow with a short "breathing" cycle, for example) seems to take years to render, and comes out corrupt, or colours are all bright cyan?? and tens of gigs in size! My canvas is only 1080p, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong ;-; Just trying to set up some templates for myself!
I need advice. Perhaps this isn't the right place. I have a precomposition in AE with objects in screen mode (transparent backgrounds), but the precomposition appears black on the outside. However, if I change it from outside, it affects the mode of other elements. Help
Heyye :) I watched the sixth tutorial and did everything as instructed. I rendered my video in QuickTime format with RGB+Alpha channels for transparency. I turned off the transparency grid toggle. When I also tried using Adobe Bridge to render it, I couldn't play or insert it into a presentation. My goal is to have a transparent background directly in the video, without needing to use After Effects or Premiere Pro after rendering, so that I can easily insert it into a PowerPoint presentation. Is there any way to achieve this? :) Thank you, B
Worked! Thanks a lot! I have a new problem though: its now an .mov file due to it being "quicktime". My adobe premiere cant render this for whatever reason. had that issue already a few days ago with other .mov files. Is there a solution to this? Or do I have to convert the files always before using them in premiere? That seems like some avoidable extra steps, or am I wrong? PS: I just converted it to .mp4 again so I can actually use the file in premiere, but now I am back at the start again :(
followed all the steps and it exported as a mov file. However it says "The file isn’t compatible with QuickTime Player." Would you know what to do in this situation?
I just posted an updated vid which hopefully is the solution since a lot of people have been asking. ruclips.net/video/0LYNhB_YeTE/видео.html Please let me know if it works!
mp4 has the background always. so i guess the is you import it into premiere on whatever the project and after using it you export the final video in mp4
hey u got a very good qualitie of vidéo but i think u should invest some times on your tumbnails, cause they realy dont match with the amazing quality of ur videos !

Did u figure it out ?
He have delivered what he said and he never mentioned in title or anywhere that he will use Media Encoder
@@thage0There are lots of ways to do that but the most simplest and quickest way is After Effects

I'm in the middle of reminding myself but off memory mov format works. If you're in a video editor or after effects use pngs and make them a group.
Thank you so much, I always come back to this tutorial lol
thank you so much, i was not finding thr rgb+alpha
now solved
Awesome, short and useful.
thank you for this (: just needed to know why i couldn't select RGB+Alpha bit & what i had to do to get it working. Cheers!

how do i convert the quicktime file to a mp4 file without losing the transparency?

is there any way to make the file low in size
