Clipchamp is basically training wheels for editing, it gives you the basics of dropping transitions, basic cuts, nothing special but it gave me basic info and I from there tried DaVinci, ShotCut, Openshot, Power Director, KDEN Live, CapCut, and all in all, CapCut is 10000000% the most user friendly, easiest to learn and just overall does the best job, especially at the price point of $0.

DLDR, Shotcut is shareware garbage. You get what you paid for, which is nothing.

Life saver!

Shotcut and Kdenlive are good and very capable video editors. Once you understand them, you will never delete. If your computer is very strong, Davinci is King, otherwise Kdenlive and Shotcut are really king.

Is it possible to keep the image settings from a slideshow - like not have all of the images get wonky and messed-up when resizing using this method? This is way better than creating a duplicate sequence, which can turn the audio mono (and you can't make it stereo).

I started using shotcut because I had an older PC with 4GB ram and shotcut was the only video editing software that would work. However unlike you, I actualy took the time to look at a few youtube howto videos. You wasted my time and I think Shotcut excellent for the average user, and very very easy to use. Maybe you should think about that. Shotcut is free and open source and is updated constantly by some very clever people. Ill never darken your door again. Cheers.
