- In this new video from our Comparisons Series, we delve into the effects (or lack thereof) of various subdivision settings. Each comparison features three videos: one with Subdivision 0, one with Subdivision 1, and another with a higher value, Subdivision 3.
The video highlights that higher subdivision values demand more computational power and significantly increase simulation time compared to lower values. However, the benefit is a reduction in fluid particle flickering, especially noticeable in slow-motion scenes or when meshing against obstacles. Higher subdivision values also prove advantageous for reflective surfaces.
Conversely, there are scenarios where a high subdivision value is unnecessary, such as viewing ocean waves from a distance, where Subdivision 0 shows minimal difference but achieves faster results.
This video aims to provide an understanding of when different subdivision settings might be beneficial.

Thanks for sharing! I needed this video last week when I was doing slime on a desk from a little amphibious critter.
They all look great
