Yeah, we usually take the flappy disc to all the metal around the patch. The cleaner the better. You're getting it done though, going to be way better than it was! Have a good one Zig!

your mig sounds like it’s blasting out way too much gas.use 0.6 wire and tips for car panels.both metal parts must be shiny silver with next to no gaps for best results.use more tacks to limit burning through points instead of holding on to trigger.im far from pro was like u but learned a lot from others giving me tips.loving this series from scotland👍

Hey Zig. Have you got my number in your phone? My house phones batteries went shit and I got new ones and no longer have your number stored. If you have it, please give me a ring as I have some workshop machinery / little gantry and other assorted tools for sale that you or one of your mates might be interested in. cheers mate.

You need to slow it down. Also blow cold air with a air gun otherwise you will warp the metal. TAKE YOUR TIME.

It's A Freaking Floor!!! Warping Is NOT A Concern!!!

@ziggassedup try to get .6 mate. Perfect for cars. These modern welders are great .

Fastest way to clean the caulking compound is blow torch and wire brush, you say mechanics dont have patience to do this . Panel shops just bog everything ha,ha, i used to be told off doing it properly. Problem is sometimes the customer's return and punch the idiot owner in the nose for wrecking his car. Factory 350 statesman, supposed to cunt the rust out of the quarters . I start cutting, idiot says silver tape and bog. 6 months later its even worse . The guy belted him and i had to change the whole bottom anyway. Great work mate , this will be a good car . The old red motors go really well.
