Well done on the 50k day! Great to see your knees holding up so well. Last year while walking from Villambistia I suddenly realized it was Holy Saturday - the day before Easter Sunday - so I decided on an impulse that I would like to attend Easter mass at Burgos Cathedral on Easter Sunday. The walk felt like 45k and I had to stop on the river route for an hour at a park bench because my feet were killing me, look at my app, and when it indicated I had 5k to the Cathedral - I almost wept because it felt so far away. In the end I made it and it was my longest day - just like yours is today. I think I was inspired by the Cruz de Atapuerca where I paused to remember lost loved ones. I found a 3-star hotel (Hotel Corona de Castilla) near the Cathedral for 40 euros (!) and had the best sleep ever. I think I walked for over 13 hours that day and I hated the long walk in the hot sun along the airport fence - that was the worst part of the whole Camino Frances in my opinion.
Hi, i stayed in a brand new albergue in Atapuerca a few weeks ago, it had opened 6 weeks before. It was called INpulso albergue. It was great, good food, very enthousiastic hospitalera. Started the day in Belorado aswell 🙂
@@nancycompagnie6500 That's the one I was going to stay at. They had a couple of beds left when I got there. I have a friend that ended up staying there.
You’re the man!
So impressive! What a section! And it was 87 degrees? You are looking very fresh for high 80s temps and such a long distance.
