Robbin, I hope you have a fabulous time. I'm doing the Portuguese from Porto in a couple of weeks. First time for me too.

    Hi Greg!
Have you walked the GR 65 in France (Le Puy-en-Velay to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port)?

Glad you brought up laundry in this video. I’ve been wondering, what do you use for soap? Do you use the same soap you use in the shower? For instance, do you carry a liquid body wash or a bar of soap? I was thinking of filling travel size bottles with body wash but I don’t think that will last very long. Thought about a Dr. Bronner’s bar of all-one soap but not sure. Your experience and opinion is most welcome, please. Thanks

@@mauibob9488 I don't carry the liquid soap because it's mostly water. If you're trying to save weight a small bar of soap is better. Mine lasted 4 weeks until Villafranca. I wrap it in a microfiber washcloth to keep it from getting all over everything. Many of the private albergues have body wash and shampoo in the shower. So you would only need it about half the time.
For laundry, You can't usually count on there being laundry detergent available. Nearly every place you stay will have a kitchen though and I usually just squirt some of the dish soap into my pile of clothes on the way out to the laundry sink. My hiking clothes are all synthetic materials. They're basically made of plastic, so I don't think the dish soap is going to hurt anything. The sun will destroy your clothes anyway. If you don't mind paying for it, many places you stay will have a washer and dryer. But I'm only washing a shirt, a pair of shorts, a pair of socks and my little towel, so doesn't make sense to spend the time and money on a machine.

Would a different Camino give you “something different” , or have you achieved your desired outcome?

@@originalskk Who knows? Maybe....I'm looking at other places in the world now. I traveled around Asia last year and looking to go back. I might head that direction when I'm done here.
