One of the videos I watched regarding insurance in Asia suggested that health care is so cheap there that the insurance was not necessary as long as you have resources to pay the bill. The total for our recent emergency room visit was about 180 euros.

I don't know. I hadn't heard of it until you mentioned it. I would usually try to send my Google map location link if the person can receive it.
