1:56 what I did with my kits is rip a large number of square strips, like 1/4" square, then when I'm gluing the frame together, I shove one of those into the corners on all sides making them 90 deg to the keel section. Depending on the size of your ship, you can go even larger, 1/2" or more if you have the space.
I cut long strips, about 3' then cut them to length as I need them.

looks complex, but makes a good impression.

Very complex , almost over engineered. The Soleil was very similar. Once together though is very solid.

Very nice, but in my opinion Artesania Latina should increase the skeleton components from 3mm to at least 4mm. They just seem a but flimsy.

Totally agree with you. It makes planking more difficult also.

Hi Greg, so you've started the New kit, (mine turned up yesterday Occre version, just waiting on a book now, as i believe the stern gallery is incorrect, there should actually be balconies) must say I had a quick peek and impressed with the quality, what scale is your kit?

Hi mate , it's 1/84 scale. From memory I think this kit has balconies but I could be wrong. The Occre version is a very nice looking kit. I like the Sapelli for the hull. I will look forward to watching you build it.
