- In 2023, in spite of record shattering snowfall in the Sierra mountains of California, I am undertaking a thru-hike attempt of the Pacific Crest Trail in an effort to complete my Triple Crown! Follow along as I see just how far the trail will let me go!

Thanks for shooting such great vids and being traveling buds with our daughter “Shade”! That was awesome footage of Forester Pass and sliding down the mountain! ❤
Beautiful! And definitely like your nerdy camp settings, kind of reached Michelin star level now with the digged down table and shelf for backpack…. Not too bad 🤓😃
Hahaha, thanks!! What fun I will have considering all the details that would go into veing a Micheline star camper!! 😆
As an important FYI to anyone watching. NEVER glissade(slide on your butt) with crampons on your feet. A very easy way to seriously injure your lower leg!!!
Fair point, and completely accurate, thank you for sharing!
Absolutely gorgeous scenery! But that Pass…. woulda freaked me right the heck out! Looks like a good day.
Definitely a good one 👍
Forrester is our favorite pass, and our least favorite is Glenn Pass which is your next pass.
Yep.. Glen Pass's descent was BRUTAL
This was a really fun video. Man, I think my legs would be shaking crossing Forester Pass on steep snow like that.
Haha, buckle up, Smiles, the snow in that chute is legendary!!
What a great day to go over Forester Pass.
Absolutely!! But really I mean a bad day in the mountains still beats a great day at work!
Spectacular pass crossing! So impressive. Fun breaking dawn pics. Nice job ! Thanks and best...pops
Well done! everyone safely over and down. Just a WOW day. I hope you have many, many more safe and beautiful days.
Thank you very much for that!!
dang thats alot of snow, crazy how the chute on film does not look as nutters as it does in real life,
Haha, YUP!! The struggle I face our here is REAL!!
I get the heebee jeebees just watching the approach to Forrester.
Haha, yeah it's a bit of an ordeal for sure!!
You're sunken front porch is effin amazing! Rock on, Crackerjack.
Haha, I was excited early in the Sierra, now I'm WAY too tired to put in this level of work!!
Amazing!
Will you finally breakout the snow shoes on this video? Been carrying them for quite a many miles. Frankly I bet you’re glad the snow has been crusty and micro spikes are getting it done!
I tried the shoes a little and wasn't a fan. I very much love my Black Diamond Contact crampons!
Really appreciate the quality of your videos (which I only found a few days ago) and the quality of all of you PCT'ers doing this in 2023. I've been over Forester twice, in the summer, on dry rock and it makes me a bit queasy - so almost choked at your 'entry to the chute' part of the shoot! It is ALWAYS steeper than it looks in photos!!! Power to you all. And keep up the great productions. Thank you. M.
Thanks so much, Michael, and I'm thrilled that you've found the channel! Welcome abroad, it's a pleasure to have you!
Wow, incredible! Btw, what setting do you have your GoPro set at in terms of 4k vs 5.3k and FPS?
I shoot in 4k, 60fps. My slow-mo shots are 1080p due to the limitations of the Hero9. Thanks for asking!
Wow, amazing and impressive.
Thank you so much!!
Stunning views. Great job to you and your team.
Thanks!
Like the solar panel for charging your batteries. Great time .
I love passive progress!
ok you have way too many comments to read but awesome water source and VIDETTE!! we love it. great day on the pct thanks for taking us along////
Thanks!!
Zounds! What I said about Video 58 - times two. Big props. 🙏🙏
Hahaha, thanks!!
Great footage! The ice chute at Forester Pass looks terrifying!
It was alright, just a lil' ol' kitten 😸
I live in the tahoe area and I always try to pick up/drop off hikers when I see them. I have been seeing a lot of people who are coming back through the sierras because they skipped it early on.
You guys are absolute studs for doing it. Even shade. Way tougher than me and I consider myself pretty tough
Thanks!! Yeah I'm glad to hear that folks are indeed heading back to try and get through it now-- I was afraid that many would just skip and not return but it seems like plenty of folks have headed south to plug that hole!
Beautiful country
Indeed!
Congratulations, and great videos.
Thank you!
Looks like an intense hike right now! Great to watch from my chair!
Wow Beat, just amazing. What a great day!! Excellent footage, I love getting the feel of your whole day, thanks for sharing.
Thanks!
Love your videos, but I’m genuinely worried about your sunburn. 🥵
Yeah it ain't ideal but she'll be right! Carrying an additional tube of sunscreen this next jump 😉
Beat, it just keeps getting better and better. what a good performance. I'm jealous 🙂
Thanks, Martin!! Glad to give you some nice views!!
Poorly defrosted freeze made me giggle
Im gonna show Kirby and Eric your steps so they can make fun of you 😅😂
Haha, yeah, they will
Off note, what are your thoughts on the XMid 2 pro vs XMid 1 pro when setting up camp? I mentioned this as I heard the footprint of the XMid 1 is a bit more easier to pitch in limited area sites, you might have experienced this during your hike in Sierra’s. Thanks in advance for your thoughts. Great video always enjoy the content… 🤙🏽
They both take up a TON of space-- I have never pitched the 1 but Rabbit's is a 1, just the non-Dyneema (non-"pro" version)
Thanks for the response, appreciate the feedback and your journey “documentary” always a pleasure watching your videos. You guys are crushing the Sierra’s 🤙🏽
