Commissioner here! I actually came up with this idea a while ago when I was playing Fire Emblem Echoes and realized these two were surprisingly similar! Both of them started off seemingly destined for greatness as rulers until they had everything taken away from them by a sudden turn of events (Berkut found out that Emperor Rudolf had a secret son who was going to inherit the throne of Rigel instead of him; Griffith was arrested for treason and tortured for an entire year until his body was completely broken). At the lowest point of their lives, a higher power (Duma and God Hand) offered to grant them power greater than they could possibly imagine if they sacrificed someone close to them (Rinea and the Band of the Hawks). With nothing left to lose, both gladly gave up the only things they had left for a chance to take back everything they once had. One thing I really love about this matchup is the dynamic these two could have in a fight! I’d imagine their battle starting off as a simple duel with their standard weaponry. Griffith would remain calm and level-headed and initially focus on outsmarting Berkut as opposed to overpowering him, whereas Berkut would be far more arrogant and refuse to take Griffith seriously. At the start, Berkut would have the tactical advantage (since it’s lance against sword), but Griffith would slowly gain the upperhand through a mix of outsmarting him and beginning to push him around with his powers as Femto. This would damage Berkut’s ego little by little until he finally breaks down and enters his purgatorial form, becoming far more aggressive in the second half of the fight when both of them have revealed their true forms and powers. I know this has no chance of actually happening as a Death Battle, but this is still one of my dream matchups and I’d be screaming with joy if it somehow did happen! Massive props to Brandon with this track, by the way! Not only did he do a great job at mixing elements from Murder and Scions’ Dance in Purgatory, but he also really captured a dark, sinister tone perfect for resembling the monsters that these two ultimately became!
It's one of those matchups that would have had every chance of getting a banger episode if it wasn't for the lack of current relevancy of the characters. In terms of dynamics, it sounds oike a battle that would be so great in a narrative point of view too
So happy you commissioned this! About the matchup itself, is there a way for Berkut to know Griffith's background? I feel that could lead to interesting dialogue where Berkut refuses to believe a commoner with such a lowly origins could stand above him.
Wiz: Berkut, Heir of Rigel from the world of Fire Emblem. Boomstick: Griffith, that backstabbing bastard that makes us all go Berserk. Wiz: There has to be a limit. A line that, once crossed, cannot be returned from. Just how far is too far to obtain power and whatever else you may desire so dearly? Now that's a song that'd fit perfectly in an Halloween episode, eh. Entire song's lifted by a really heavy and dark atmosphere that's set up by the few piano segments, the violin parts and the slow-ish yet pretty intense beat of the song among other things. One of those that stands out being those decrescendos you can hear at some points (IE: 1:08-1:11). This entire atmosphere is, at least I assume so given Berserk is involved, really fitting too, something I quite like. So that's a nice plus. If I had one nitpick about the song (because I really freaking like it so it's not major in any way), it's that the ending feels a bit... flat if I may say it that way. While yes it does sound nice, there's no real gradation to show you that the climax is there as the final we've got (4:03-4:29) is a segment that's heard at other points in the song already. So once you get to the end you kinda are like "oh, that's it ?", you feel like it's missing a true climax to the song. For example, I feel like the entire segment at 2:10-2:36 would have fit perfectly as a climax as it would only have been heard once before in the song, it marks a pretty sizable change in pacing and sounding and it sounds cool as all hell (not that the current ending doesn’t, mind you, but this one is even cooler). However if there's one thing that I don't have anything negative to say about when it comes to that climax, it'd be the "outro" to the song (4:30-4:45) which is simply fantastic for how simple it is, just piano but it's done complete great. Apologies if that last paragraph sounded too negative, like I said I really like that song but it's just a small thing I'd have enjoyed being done differently. Hey Brandon! Like the track! Hey, while I’m at it, here’s a commission for you! Learning To Be Infinite (Pibby Vs. Infinite) [Adult Swim Vs. Sonic] Connections: They are one eyed warriors of apocalyptic wars to take back where they live, though they are on opposite sides of the spectrum. They were something else before becoming who they are (a preschool show protagonist for Pibby and a mercenary leader for Infinite). Both of them were scarred forever by someone in black (The Darkness assimilated Pibby’s friends while Shadow defeated and humiliated Infinite). Both of them, after these incidents, transformed themselves into ruthless warriors. Where both of them originate, dimensions collide. Both of them have connections to dimension destroying abominations (The Darkness & Phantom Ruby respectively). Both of them are childish on the inside behind their rough exteriors (Pibby is a young girl traumatized by the incident while Infinite does not want to be weak). Battle Soundtrack: This track is a Sonic Forces inspired track with elements of Infinite’s theme and Change Your Mind from FNF Pibby Corruption Mod. The track has a few glitched out parts and a heavy glitched chorus and digitized screams. (Maybe you can collaborate with both Therewolf Media & Infotron?) Track Cover: A ruined wasteland under a gloomy dusty sky with the Darkness swirling around, several assimilated Cartoon Characters from the FNF Mod are sticking their hands out, alongside the hands of Zavok, Chaos, Shadow, and Metal Sonic, referencing Infinite. On the ground is Infinite’s Mask with Pibby’s eyepatch on its blank eye. Infinite’s red cubes float around the wasteland and high in the sky, the Phantom Ruby is glowing brightly with an image of Bun Bun inside. The title comes from the name of Pibby’s show (Learning With Pibby) and Infinite’s name, to an extent, his main theme.
Intro: Wiz: Pibby. Heroine of the Cartoon Apocalypse. Boomstick: Infinite. The Ultimate Mercenary from Sonic Forces. Wiz: Souls fractured by incidents that scarred them for life, these two have since remade themselves into warriors who have made their names across wars for freedom. One the hero to save us all, the other fighting to continue the tyranny that makes those around him suffer. Boomstick: And in the apocalypse, only the strong survive, and we’ll which one of two legends have what it takes to become a true legend! He’s Wiz and I’m Boomstick! Wiz: And it’s our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle!
@UCxgIIXrFbHwXsRy44U-_U4w I mean Ryan Reynolds might of won, if Sonic didn't get a sequel just two weeks ago that not only gave him even more feats, but also access to Super Sonic which gave him godlike strength and speed, complete invulnerability, and the ability to turn thoughts into reality.

This is super late, but Griffith likely shit stomps Berkut into the dust unless Heroes scaling is used, in that case Berkut could get multiversal scaling
@@notwesley9180 Thanks

Hey Brandon! Like the track! Hey, while I’m at it, here’s a commission for you!
Learning To Be Infinite (Pibby Vs. Infinite) [Adult Swim Vs. Sonic]
Connections:
They are one eyed warriors of apocalyptic wars to take back where they live, though they are on opposite sides of the spectrum.
Battle Soundtrack:
This track is a Sonic Forces inspired track with elements of Infinite’s theme and Change Your Mind from FNF Pibby Corruption Mod. The track has a few glitched out parts and a heavy glitched chorus and digitized screams. (Maybe you can collaborate with both Therewolf Media & Infotron?)
Track Cover:
A ruined wasteland under a gloomy dusty sky with the Darkness swirling around, several assimilated Cartoon Characters from the FNF Mod are sticking their hands out, alongside the hands of Zavok, Chaos, Shadow, and Metal Sonic, referencing Infinite.
Intro:
Wiz: Pibby.

@@QuantumQuill455 how do I do that
@UCxgIIXrFbHwXsRy44U-_U4w I mean Ryan Reynolds might of won, if Sonic didn't get a sequel just two weeks ago that not only gave him even more feats, but also access to Super Sonic which gave him godlike strength and speed, complete invulnerability, and the ability to turn thoughts into reality.
