The Monster trio of cereals has made a bit of a comeback in recent years. I've seen Count Chocula, Frankenberry, and Boo Berry show up at Walmart around the time of September and through October for Halloween...heck they just added a new member, Frankenberry's cousin Caramela Creeper, it's a caramel apple flavored cereal and Caramela is a zombie. Speaking of mascots that could be another vid, the changes the ones that are still around have gone through and the ones we lost along the way.
@@Gappasaurus I HAD a box of Fute Brute last year though...then again according to Wikipedia it relaunched last year so that would explain that. Yummy Mummy relaunched in 2013 and was discontinued AGAIN in 2014. I guess werewolves just stick around better than mummies.
I don't think, in the history of it existing, has the Monster cereals ever not been a thing. It is a yearly cereal always marketed just in time for Halloween which is unfortunate as I would love to munch on some Count Chocula during Easter or even some Frankenberry for the 4th of July, but I get it. I've also recently seen the Caramela Creeper last week.
Growing from an 80's baby into a 90's kid, it was interesting seeing how Cookie Crisp changed mascots. First it was the Cop chasing the burglar. Then the burglar's burglar dog was added to the group. I guess having a burglar as a mascot was not popular with parents, so the dog lost his burgling outfit and became the mascot. He even got the catchphrase, "Coooookie Crisp" like a howl. Then, the mascot's final form was a wolf. I suppose the howling of the cereal's name fit a wolf more than a dog. Cookie Crisp's mascot position has a high turn over rate...
Bill Watterson always had a *very* strong stance against licensing and merchandising, so we can safely assume that seeing Calvin and Hobbes on cereal boxes would've been one of his worst nightmares.
I think my personal favorite was Razzle Dazzle Rice Krispies. It was a sweeter more colorful version of Rice Krispies and was a limited edition. Plus, how can you not love a name like Razzle-Dazzle Rice Krispies. Another one that was considered strange but I personally really loved was Smorz cereal. It was graham cracker ceral with chocolate coatings and you course you gotta have marshmallows in there. I was disappointed when they discontinued it. I liked it way better with than Oreo O’s. They could never get that cream flavor from the cookies to taste as good in a cereal and it mostly disappears after the first bite.
I remember some Ralston cereals from the early ‘90s that were just Chex with marshmallows, but they’d rebrand the Chex pieces depending on the brand. Like, in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cereal, they were “crunchy ninja nets”, but in Spider-Man cereal they were “crunchy webs”.
I always know it's a good day when you're posting new videos. The Education Connection theme still sounds timeless - it's still a bop after all these years. Thank you for the fun nostalgia trip!

As a kid in the 80s and 90s I wanted that Nintendo cereal so, sooo bad but my parents would never buy it because they said it was "too expensive". When I was 9, we moved from CT to CA by van and got stuck in Salt Lake City for about a week when something in the engine broke (I have no idea what, I was just a kid) but we had to go to a food bank to replenish our traveling supplies ... and they gave us a brand new box of that cereal! I honestly don't even remember if I liked it or not, I was just jazzed to finally say I had a box of the Nintendo cereal.
I wanted to try Ice Cream Cones cereal soooo bad growing up 😋 I never got to, but one of my all-time faves from that early 90s period was Kellogg's Cinnamon Mini Buns. I miss those!
One cereal I dearly miss from my childhood was Kellogg's Cinnamon Krunchers from the early-mid 2000s. Those were so tasty and I was sad when they were discontinued. The Frosted Flakes with Cinnamon are just not the same.
Cereals has a moment of trying to be healthy. But General Mills in 2020 went back to the 80s recipes so now their cereals are full of sugar again ... and I love it.
Born in 86 and I distinctly remember most of these commercials! I also may have started singing the Reese's Puffs jingle when you mentioned the cereal. LOL.
This video just helped me remember Kellogg's Cinnamon Mini Buns. I had to search for it, and despite it looking almost identical to Cinnabon cereal, I knew that wasn't it. I vaguely remember liking the cereal, but the cinnamon taste was always fleeting and I wanted to eat more to be able to savor the sweet cinnamon taste longer. They didn't hold long in milk.
Man, as a kid, I never had any of these. All I can remember are Hidden Treasure, Sprinkle Spangles, and Waffle Crisps. But nothing could be the power of the Pops, Smacks, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch (at least for me). Man, just seeing all these cereals makes me wanna go back in time just to get a taste of these forgotten cereals.
I'm still mad at the sprinkle sprangle One. They cheated me of my prize in the box years ago. They said it was a prize inside and there was nothing in there.😂
I used to cut out comic strips and glue them all onto paper and make compilation books, so maybe the funnies cereal was for me . They just made it 5 years too early !😂
Does anyone remember the Disney cereals from the early 00s? Magix which was the Fantasia 2000 themed cereal, Timon and Pumbaa's Mud & Bugs which was kind of like the Smorz (RIP) cereal, and my personal favorite, Winnie the Pooh's Hunny B's which was like eating honey graham cracker cookies in milk 😂
It's absolutely insane that you played the Education connection video in the sponsor bit, I just saw that earlier today on Twitter(x) and was singing it for a minute.

I loved to this day the Nintendo cereal. And yes you can tell the different between the Mario side and Zelda side. Now that I think about it, the Mario side was basically Fruit Loops and the Zelda side was basically Crunch Berrys.
Amazing. I remember Sainsbury's had a cereal called Chockles with a rad cartoon crocodile on the front. It had chocolate bits and marshmallows. The problem is the chocolate bits would fuse like massive chocolate rocks. Oh and I did a media studies lesson where we had to design our own cereal so I came up with "Choco Explosion- the cereal with a chocolate pyromaniac on the front"
That Nintendo cereal commercial rolled and I got weird chills and an instant woooosh back to my childhood. I also remember the Nerds cereal which was my favorite cereal when I was a kid. I still think about it. I'm thinking about it now.
I wanna see a Nintendo cereal comeback with a Metroid/Pokemon or Kirby/Fire Emblem combo. And Bill Watterson detested the idea of his characters getting marketed this way, so Calvin & Hobbes were definitely not getting on that cereal.
I will always love reminiscing on nostalgia. Plus, I remember the Education Connection Commercial! And he even played Escape from the City and I recently managed to finally beat Sonic Adventure 2
I still miss Halloween themed cereals like Froot Loops with marshmallow ghosts, and Rice Krispies with black and orange colored krispies. And yet Holiday Rice Krispies is still around every year.

Can you imagine all those kids carefully scooping out those sugary marshmallows and leaving the cereal pieces in the bowl. I can hear all the kids saying "But Mom! You're supposed to eat it that way!".😅
The Nintendo cereals were in separate bags, of course they tasted different! And the Zelda 2 fruit snacks. Man that was the best time to be an NES fan. I miss those cereals and all the other marshmallow cereals. Pac-Man cereal was awesome and was a part of my Pac-Man fever in the 80s. The cereals based on movie and cartoon properties were awesome too. Ghostbusters, Batman, TMNT... As an aside, do you remember the smiley sandwich cookies? I think they were called Giggles. The stunts they pulled with cereals were great too. Swirl cereal pieces, mini marshmallows...the commercials worked on me.
I've tried most of these cereals! I definitely remember the Nintendo Cereal System, I used to have a hologram T-Shirt that order from a special offer on the box. Same thing with the Real Ghostbusters cereal.
There should be a Portal (the video game) themed cereal. It could have blue and orange O's and marshmallow versions of the cores. You could have GLaDOS or Wheatley as the spokesperson, and the free toy inside would be either the turrets or the Companion Cube. You could call it Portal O's.
Oh, I remember a lot of obscure cereals back in the day. I can't really think of one I remember having as kid, but I did see some other RUclipsrs making videos of themselves eating most of these outdated cereals, and surprisingly a majority of them are still somewhat edible. Wait I do remember them making a "Powerpuff Girls" cereal back when that was a thing and an actual "Reptar Cereal" to tie in with the hype of "Rugrats". So yeah, I do remember some cereals from the past. Man how time flies. :D
Another noteworthy cereal that should be added if you do a part 2: Cröonchy Stars. It was a cinnamon star cereal themed around the Muppets' Swedish Chef. It was weird, and the commercials were humorously goofy (Henson was still alive at the time), but the cereal was DELICIOUS.
Another awesome, nostalgia filled video Andre! However, you dropped the ball by failing to make a Grand Poobah reference when talking about Fred Flintstone.
To this day I miss Strawberry Krispies, Rice Krispies Treat and Smurfberry Crunch cereals. I wouldn’t mind the first two coming back honestly they were so good!
OMG I, age 8, ate 7 bowls of Dinersaurs in a row! My friends came over wanting me to go out to play but they just sat and watched me eat bowl after bowl. I dearly miss the Ice Cream cone cereal. I remember the Nerds cereal and the C-3PO cereal.
I recall Disney having some pretty cool cereals at one point. There was Timon and Pumbaa's Mud and Bugs cereal which was pretty much Coco Puffs and Lucky Charms, only the marshmallows were shaped like bugs. There was Mickey's Magix cereal that was basically Lucky Charms only with more stars and moons and it turned the milk blue. Finally, there was the Winnie the Pooh cereal, Hunny B's, which was pretty much Honey Nut Cheerios shaped like the letter B and with gram cracker pieces shaped like Pooh's head, honey pots, and bees.
I cannot believe ate so many Ralston cereals back in the day. I miss a lot of them, too. It does shock me a little that they haven't re-released a modified original formula for TMNT. General Mills owns the TMNT Cereal IP and bought Ralston. This seems like a no-brainer, especially with the Nostalgia crowd. Dino Pebbles kind of exists. There are the two Pebble flavors with marshmallows. Not quite the same, but close.
I really like that so much of the Dinersaurs theme song is just saying "Dinersaurs" over and over again because the lyrics may as well be "Dinersaurs! Do you get it? It's like dinosaur, but also diner! It's Dinersaurs! Do you get it?"
I remember the Dunkin' Donuts Cereal, but I don't remember having it. What I do remember having was DONUTZ! Yes, with a Z. Donutz came in chocolate or powdered sugar. By the way, Rainbow Krispies is a new one that needs to be discontinued sooner rather than later. It seems that after 50 years Kellogg's is finally trying to compete with Post's Fruity Pebbles, but... no. Texture is all wrong, taste is all wrong... I know they can't be exactly alike, but these feel way too far off.
i remember "Hidden Treasures". that cereal was a lawsuit waiting to happen. if people think Capn Crunch cuts the roof of your mouth, they never had Hidden Treasures
Ralston was to cereal back then what LJN was to video games.

To this day I miss Strawberry Krispies, Rice Krispies Treat and Smurfberry Crunch cereals. I wouldn’t mind the first two coming back honestly they were so good!
I don't care if people say its has too much sugar, I loved having orio os when I was little.
One cereal that I remember from the 90s was Rice Krispy Treats cereal. It was pretty good.
Repetition is a key advertising tactic.
Man , I feel old watching this!!! But I love the memories bro thanks
I forgot I was even subscribed because I haven’t seen your videos in my suggestions in years!!!
S'mores cereal is Golden Grahms and Cocoa Puffs with marshmallows
It was glorious
Some weird cereal ideas, but some fun ones 🥣.
Great video Andre and take care and stay safe 👍.
Thanks for the video Andre ❤
Oreo O's, Pokemon Cereal, Lost world of Jurassic Park cereal with the roaring box! and the Batman V Superman cereal!
I've never heard of Dinersaurs. But I love that pun. I would totally love a cartoon or comic about dinosaurs running a diner
I’d watch it!
"Man, I wish I could eat this game." -Andre. This is why I watch this channel.
Also, I was hoping you'd mention the Simpsons cereals.
The one cereal I wish would come back is capon crunch’s choco donuts cereal! Them things were the best!
Ice Cream Cones cereal was really good. Great flavor, and definitely super sweet
i remember "Hidden Treasures". that cereal was a lawsuit waiting to happen. if people think Capn Crunch cuts the roof of your mouth, they never had Hidden Treasures
