I loved growing up in the 80's. Sugary cereals with prizes inside the boxes and Saturday morning cartoons. Those were the days!

Those were the good old days!! I still do this, Saturday mornings enjoying a big bowl of cereal and watching/casting youtube 80s TV commercials, 80s cartoons, 80s sports clips and etc. Great memories I can still enjoy today. Because everything now/today sucks!!!

Raisins were everywhere in the 80s. I remember raisins being so much more prominent than they are today. Even a had a claymation singing group of raisins with merch everywhere. They really wanted us to eat raisins lol.

Yep. My sister and I would fight over fruit loops. Needless to say my mom only bought them when we went camping.
I wish I could get that feeling back when I was clawing to get to the prize in the bottom of a cereal box. Or the anticipation of mailing away cereal box tops and patiently waiting for it to show up in the mail, which felt like forever. When is it that we lose that innocence and why. Sure we have to grow up eventually, but why do we have to get rid of that childhood excitement?

I am not an American and i was born in the end of 1990 but I really enjoy it. At the same time i have some strange feeling that i was born in wrong time (80s nostalgia while I've never lived in 80s)
In the Honey Nut Cheerios commercial (#2), that was Victoria Jackson from SNL as the saloon girl.

Since when did Saturday morning cartoons start at 6 am? Typically they started at 8 am and often into the afternoon. In any case, 6am, whether light or not, is too early.

The actress portraying a nurse in the Nut 'n Honey Crunch cereal looks like the vice principal with the huge mole on her face in the movie "Uncle Buck".
I loved that scene! Laughed when he tossed her quarter and advised her to go downtown and have a rat bite that thing off her face... Lol.

Interesting fact in Canada we still call it sugar crisp. They changed it in the states as using the word sugar in a cereal name turned away parents
Crispy Wheats and raisins and Ohs were among my favorite cereals back in the day. I didn't realize how much I missed them until seeing their commercials

I remember in the late 60’s I believe, it used to be called super sugar crisp and then in the 80’s I think, it became golden crisp, when a lot of manufacturers took the word sugar out of the description. Thanks Dave, great job as always!
I don't care what anybody says here, the '80s were the greatest time to be a kid and to grow up in that era. We had all back then, like seriously we did. Cereals with prizes in them, the cracker Jack boxes with prizes.
Also you can't forget about the awesome music, the cartoons, the movies, the tv shows, the games and action figures and so much more. One of my favorite all times prizes to get out of the cereal boxes was the wacky crawl walkers, they were sticky they felt weird and they were cool how they came down on the walls too, after you threw them up there. it's so weird how time passed us all, very fast and very quick

I was born in 1981 and it's amazing how many of these commercials I do remember from the late '80s.
That feeling of opening a new box of cereal, then reaching your entire arm into the bag of cereal to find that toy prize... good times!!!
Parents hated that, but we did it anyway...
The rabbit should have just trusted that it's upside down day and asked for the Trix. Since everything's backwards the kids would give it to him.

I’ve been lucky. My favorite cereals as a kid in the ‘80s were Corn Pops, Life Cinnamon and Shredded Mini Wheats all still exist widely today.

I remember watching so many cereal commercials in the 80s. Fruity Pebbles, Trix (I always wanted the rabbit to win, even though I knew he wouldn't), Fruit Loops, Cap'n Crunch, Cocoa Puffs, Lucky Charms, Cookie Crisp, all had classic cartoon characters and story arcs attached to them. Nowadays I think they were a little too rough about saying only kids should be eating the cereal (Trix and Golden Crisp namely), but I like looking back on them with nostalgia.
I would like to see 80's fast food commercials like Wendy's and any others y9u can find.

I don't know of any child in the 80's who watched Saturday morning cartoons eating a bowl of Total. Lol. My cereal of choice was Ghostbusters cereal.
I miss the cereal jingles and the idea that you need to bring a box of cereal everywhere you go.
The difference between today’s commercials & the 80s is striking. They used to be more soothing, sweeter, goofier, less jumpcuts - and they used to actually mention WHY their product was superior!
Seen them all only remember a couple 😂😂😂 nut n hunny was always my favorite.

As a kid in the 80s I used to look at the Sears or JC Penny (can't remember which) catalog and drool over all the Nintendo games that were available.

In the 1980s my mom didn't believe in feeding me sugary cereals for breakfast. It was a choice of Grape nuts, Shredded wheat, Raisin and Nut bran, Fruit and Fiber with dates and Honey Nut Cheerios (which actually have a lot of sugar!) Instead I wanted what my cousins had fore breakfast, Captain Crunch, Lucky Charms, Trix and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Great memories. Cereal companies were obsessed with adding raisins in all of their product lines in the 80s! 😂

Heavy shot of history and nostalgia here. A lot of childhood memories. I believe the actress playing the woman in the bar with the gunslinger in the western/cowboy Honey Nut Cheerios commercial is the same actress who plays Captain Picard's (Star Trek TNG) secretary in his Holodeck program for Dixon Hill.
I never realized that Tony the Tiger could give me such a sense of existential dread...
I also feel like that Golden Grahams droplet thing was the pinnacle of 80s 3D rendering.
There's a man with a GUN in the Honey Nut Cherrio commercial. AND he shoots at the bee. Good times, good times.
