If you want to replace the transistors anyway, you don't need to test them. Testing can tell you if you need to replace other parts, such as the driver chip or F1 fuse. 90% of the time, a replacement of the two transistors will fix the problem.

I disagree with your assessment about ppl not liking these videos... I love it! Please keep making more.
Just like to say , thank you, i have a epson et2720 printer no power on, so stipped the printer and changed the 2 transisters, now the printer is working fine . Big thank you !!
As someone who repairs a lot of printers, your videos are becoming a quick favorite of mine.
hello. from Mar del Plata Argentina. very good explanation of how to carry out a good diagnosis, verification and repair. Repair technical videos are very welcome for those of us who are technicians. Greetings and thank you very much for your class.
So, I ended up having to replace the print head and those two transistors on this ET-2760 printer. Fixed it and prints absolutely fantastic. Thank you again for helping me revive this printer that I got from goodwill for 4 dollars!
Kevin, i got ET-2760, and made the mistake of using cleaning flud and powering it back on, before all dry... the unit wont turn on, i pulled print head, 2 pins of the flex cable is burned.
so my guess 1. need new print head (or just clean it and let it dry 100%) 2. need new flex cable (hard to find) 3. need to replace transistors on main board?
since disconnecting the cable to the print heads, still no power up
Awesome!
Do you have a vid showing how to check, replace the 24 pin ic. Also the f1 fuse. Thanks!
Great Video! Thank you Kevin. I was trying to clean the prints heads of an Ecotank 7250 and when I plugged it in to test it, it seemed fine but 1/2 way through the test print the printer completely powered off and wouldn't turn back on. I think I may have gotten it too wet and fried it. Is a situation like this, is it possible to fix by changing the transistors?
same here i have a dead paper weight now 😢😢😢. What is the solution ?
Hi Kevin. Thanks for your amazing video. 😍I need help. I left a paper towel under the head and turned my printer on and did head cleaning, but it turned off by itself and never turned on again. Do you know where is the issue and how can I fix it? Thank you🙏🙏🙏
Hi Kevin, thanks for your efforts, very helpful to a novice Motherboard Guru like me 🙂 I have a question for you.
Assuming the motherboard is removed, which chip would I replace in the case of an "Ink Pad Needs a Service message".
I guess the Status is stored in one of the Motherboard chips. Many thanks and keep up the good work, Pete 🙂
YES!!!! Keep making these videos, while I may not need to reference your other videos, THIS video and the video regarding the removal of the scanner will certainly help me fix my ET-2760 with the same power on issue.
THANK YOU!
Will update when the printer is fixed.
Love your videos and explanations and repair.
I have L5190 with burnt out DM301. It's SOT-523-3 and the marking is 5D. Could you tell me what the part actually is ? I can't find it anywhere online.
Hi do you have any video on how to check logic board and power supply for Epson L1300? Unit has no power at all
Well Kevin I just received one of these in the shop, same issue no power or display. The ribbon cables were disconnected from the display and scanner when I got it so I thought easy fix just reconnect them and we back in the game. Nope, I guess this is a common issue with this particular model, gonna check it further before thinking its the board but from what you say and what im seeing so far i may have to get a replacement.
Also are the power packs similar in most of the models?
LOL. I got a repair work (false paper jam) which the PF scale fell off as soon as I open the case. Easy fix - I thought! Then I found out the scanner lamp burned out, and the printhead is dead. I got a 3-in-1... so far.
Thanks for the video. It was very difficult to remove the NPN and PNP components. I think I damaged the circuit board. But both appeared to test fine, which makes me think the problem may be in the power supply. How do you test the power supply? There are 4 wires I think.
Wow thanks. You are very good at instructional videos. Any chance you could do one on the the bios chip flasher? I noticed in this video you had one :). I’m in need of a tutorial on my ezpxpro.
Thanks. I don’t want to share it here in the public.
This may help.
The Epson has a 4 pin connector (cnxx) which is used for debugging. Only development boards have these interfaces populated.
My hp has a jtag interface, and two servicing uc removed.
Generally these are not necessarily for bios flashing. But recovery.
Every embedded controls architecture is different and the bootloader may even be locked.
Personally, I would look at the datasheet for your nonvolatile ram chip. Read it. See what flashing protocols are supported and research.
Check Git, someone probably has a project somewhat related and try an Adriano or Raspberry pi interface.
Who knows, but becareful. Flashing your bootloader with the wrong files and you will definitely be debugging or replacing the uc.
where do you purchase the power supply chip? MY husband removed the print head to clean a badly clogged black nozzle. After replacing it the printer came on then when dead a few minutes later.
Also you can check diodes, fets, transistors, etc with your multimeter.
Kevin's has multiple options where his dial is placed.
On others, look for the diode icon. Select it and use the pos and neg leads to check for forward biasing. The dmm supplies the voltage too.
Hello! Can you share some experience about Epson L1800? It is original. But technician told me " your printer got burn mainboard and pass power throgh to printer head". This happen while I start cleaned by using some acohol with water. Then I Put it in ordered and connect to power supply and started power on by put it alone. But the technician told me that " Your printer got burn by overload power" . Now I already repaired main board by my knowledge and the mainboard work well. But I want to ask you can I insert the old printer head into printer L1800 again? My Epson L1800 It is work less than a year of total using it. It just new
Can we use Epson printer hade and Mather bord in a big chassis to have a large wide print area?
Please do this 🙏.
Very interesting, but is there any way to reset ink counter directly here ? (on some HP printer there is just a cr2032, you remove it and expiration date for Cartridge just fixed) ?
Well, you are walking into the dark side. However, EcoTank doesn't need a ink counter. It has one but it is for "suggested ink volume" only. The printer won't stop you from printing.
Greetings from Greece. Yesterday I, managed to fry my main board on an epson L365 after cleaning its print head. Some water got in, which I didn't notice, shorted the head and afterwards the mainboard :) lucky me ! I haven't yet got the board out cause I'm still pissed :). I'll check the TRs , but I believe that if the trs are shorted then I'm sure some tiny fuse will be off too. These two ICs you mentioned what type are there. Do they have to do with print head control ?
Great videos btw 👍👍
The little fuse only controls the ink ejection. If your MB is fried, then the problem is more likely in those two transistors.
Hello my friend, I have a problem with the Epson printer, it does not come out colors when printing, they tell me that it is from the board, what is the solution?
Hello, I have an epson L1800 and the power on the back does come on but the power button doesn’t so nothing works. Can you help?
Can you tell me what the voltage of the power supply should be? Also there is 4 wires should 3 out of the four show a number?
42 v out is whqt i read on a forum
where can we buy that kind of tester for transistor ?
do you repair r2400 boards i have a couple i need repaired wondering if you could add fuse holders to f1 fuses that are blown on the boards i have
What board fit Epson et2720 having issues finding it as it powers on then shortly after error 100016 as the scanner does seem to work with light coming through but with noises like motor trying to move even at the end of the guide. There's no dirt or grit in the guide. Is this a board issue or scanner issue
You are awesome and so informative. Glad for your educational videos. Keep up the good work. Thank you

Hi can u plz give the list of the name of printers that is compatible with the et2750 motherboard
Hi great video, can I ask you somethign. I got one epson l120 and the mainboard look the same. But here in México they say that if u get burn those 2 u will need to change the printhead to and the IC.
I will agree. If you burnt the transistors, you are likely needing a new printhead.
@@BCHTechnologies My transistors bun as soon as I turn on (just the power plug and display cable connected. Printhead is not connected, but it still burns the transistors, what else on the MB could be bad that causes it to burn the transistors? Thank you!!
If I take off the driver chip (E09A7418A) plug in power and display it powers up and stays powered up (appears to not burn out the transistors) so I will try now replacing the driver chip (E09A7418A) and seeing if that was the cause of the transistors getting burnt out - if not, then looks like its something else in the motherboard! :)
Just watched your video for the 2nd time . great info. Now, i have a Epson XP-440 . Head was clogged . Cleaned out. reinstalled. and power came on, started charging the ink in the head and then power went off. Never came back on no matter what i did. watched you video again . Today i replaced the 2 transistors with new . reconnected MB back in printer . head is not in . Power switch lit up for one second and then no more power again. I don't know if something else besides the head is bad or not but it seems to affect the power issue. Any Ideas? Thanks.
Same here. If I leave them out, the board with just the display cable and power plug it turns on. If I put the transistors in, it powers on 1 second, then off and the transistors are burnt again. so something else on the MB is bad since it fries them with nothing else connected.
hi, a222 and c6144 have been changed, the problem still persists
Do you know where the fuses are in a CE59 main board (xp-432) and eventually how to test it ?
Hello 👋 , I have questions for you I have the same printer, when I refilled the ink and clean the nozzle it just shut down and never turn on. I tested the power supply black(GND) and other 3 (40v,42v,0v) . Is the power supply looks ok? Or not?
hello, I had same problem. first i changed mosfets, turned on, for short time but then off. I wonder if there is other problem to look after?
Did you get a new printhead? Maybe the printhead is dead.
PS looks okay. It is likely you have a faulty printhead.
Great video, very helpful. I have a similar problem with a Epson WF-3620. All of a sudden one day when I sent a print command to the printer from my laptop, I heard a faint click noise from the printer and a got an error message on laptop. Printer had shut down. Pushing power button on control panel and trying to reset by unplug, hold power button did not work. I tested the power adapter and can measure 42VDC at power adapter connection CN501 at motherboard. I tested the control panel power button with ohmmeter and it is functional. But there is no power getting from to either terminal of the power button. Do you think this is a problem with the motherboard? If yes, how do I isolate the problem? or any other suggestions? Note: the printer is about 8 years old and has seen only moderate use. Thank-you very much for any help
It sounds like it. There are only three things needed for a power-on: Power supply (working), MB, and LCD panel. The LCD panel is hardly the problem, so I will vote for MB.
I have been waiting for this piece in this website for ever. They still haven’t restocked does anyone know where else I can get the mother board
I tested my transistors and replaced them, the printer worked for a total of 30 minutes and quit again. I tested the new transistors and they had died just like the originals. What could be causing these to blow out like that?
Muchas gracias maestro Kevin BCH la mejor canción original 🤩, saludos desde Ecuador 👋
hin my name is Thelma i have a ? im new to this dtf my et-8550 doesnt pull ink to the waste tank and dont want to print how can i fix this problem thank u n advance
Is it mandatory that if you replace the 2 transistors you should also replace the 24 pin micro controller? Thanks
No
@@BCHTechnologies sir then based on your experience how would you know if the 24 pin power IC is damage? Thank you sir.
Find your depopulaed debugging connector for a start.
Reading datasets also helps if you can understand what they say.
However, oem boards. Do not have chip manufacturer data printed on them. Generally found in a high volume production environment.
hello, when you change the a2222 and c6144 transistors, the SG numbers below must be the same? I have an a2222 SG 2b2 I can put an a2222 SG 7f5. THANKS.
Also, Sanyo was acquired NY osemi.
And yes, the sg is a replacement. The others are not being newly produced anymore
Hello i.have an epson L3169 and its writting scn ft mode.
what does it mean sir.
Sir, I am from Nigeria my Epson L850 is not directed on Computer I try all the possible but I am still facing the same problem.......please Sir I need your help. I can pay if necessary.
Thank you😒 but this printer has been trash for me I tried to use it twice both times it jammed and now won't power up
Thank you for the detailed explanation
You are welcome!
Would love to see you working on an Epson F2000
Thanks. I don't have the time and space right now. The warehouse is overflowing.
Привет. Твои видео очень хорошие. Продолжайте эту тему. Очень интересно. Привет из Литвы.
Большое спасибо!
Wish i could find a video on how to get to the mother board on an epson 1400 and replace these transistors :(
Kevin I like your videos. I have an epson ET-2750 after cleaning clogged print heads, I get Scanner error 02. The cables are connected correctly, but the scanner error 02 100016 still comes on. What else can I do? Is there a sensor or something else that need cleaning? Thanks in advance
Does the lamp come on? When you start the printer, the lamp will be turned on and it will scan a little strip on the cover. The signal get sent to the printer. If the printer doesn't get this signal, it will think the scanner is broken.
Are you in California
North Carolina
Hello Sir. Nice video
Thanks so much, You've made my day 🎉🥰
Friend . Do you have board. I need 1
Can you assist with Epson P600
Sorry, I can't. Too much stuff to do and too little time.
Definitely over my skill set. I can do up to removing all the parts, but the cutting and soldering are definitely past my skill level. 😪
Love your videos
Very good video!!!
I can not find this motherboard anywhere to purchase
We don't have all the mother boards. Most hot models are sold out within hours.
THANKS SO MUCH
My a2222 and c6144 are burned, after change printer starts for 2s and again burned, what kann by more?
same!
@@joshuahurst1099 answer is burned e09a92ga or e09a7418a, must be changed both Transistor and Chip
@@Atarilloll Thank you! I just removed the E09A7418A and power up and it did not burn transistors, so looks like that should be it - I'll keep you posted - thanks again!
Peace be upon you.. He has an Epson L1800. I cleaned his head and his head and the work has been turned off. I hope you can help me and where do I start from, thank you
Very useful.
