    very interesting to see just how many places the ink can get clogged...so it might follow that when trying to clean...it would be important to do both the cleaning of the external surface but also to run some cleaner through the whole mechanism also....thanks...

    This was a nice video for people like me who want to know what is going on inside without having to tear my own print-head apart.
    I was using an ammonia solution to clean an Epson print head a couple weeks back. I was able to get to the point that the solution would flow fairly nicely across all nozzles (when first flushing it, ink would only flow through the nozzles of one of the colors). But I made the rookie-mistake of putting it back into the printer and firing it up without giving it enough dry time. There must have been a partial short due to the conductivity of some of the ammonia left behind, so my main board is now dead (pulling power supply voltage down). I am in the process of buying a new main board but questioning whether or not my own print head should be ok now (as it has had over two weeks to dry out). What are your thoughts on the idea of trying out my old print head rather than just buying both main board and head?

    • @viandant5
      @viandant5  3 года назад +2

      I think that the print-head is defective too, but I can't be sure.

    • @radchanel2412
      @radchanel2412 3 года назад +3

      Well. I had the exact same experience , main board died , I used the printhead with another printer and and it also died ,,. So don't use the old printerhead .. mark it as bad or 👿 devil , it will spoil any printer.

    • @mikebetts2046
      @mikebetts2046 3 года назад +4

      @@radchanel2412 all is well again. Bought a reconditioned head and used main board. Installed them and the printer is back to working like new. The head and board were each about $30. Seeing that this printer would cost about $300 or more to replace, I feel like I'm ahead.

    • @joshtdt6891
      @joshtdt6891 Год назад

      Hi Mike. Trying to troubleshoot a similar issue. How did you know that your main board was dead?

    • @mikebetts2046
      @mikebetts2046 Год назад +2

      @@joshtdt6891 It's been a while since I diagnosed that printer so forgive me for a few guesses as to what I did. I recall hearing some noises that sounded a bit like excessive current draw when I powered it up with the cleaned print-head. There was a separate power supply inside the printer and the output of this supply was low (or near zero?). When I disconnected the main board, the supply power rose significantly. It was not being pulled down by a small amount but rather a huge percentage of it's total voltage. I do not recall much about the pin-out configuration of the supply. I just kind of guessed my way through it, using my old radio and TV repair experience. I no longer trusted the old print-head either. I replaced that and the main board and the printer took right off and has worked fine since then.

    Same printer head. Tried everything to clear blockages. Syringe, solutions, ultrasonic cleaner. So decided to open printhead. Unfortunately, Near Impossible to reassemble when you have disassembled. I used sillicone sealer, to retrace the glue gaskets, but no luck as it took a lot of ink 4ml to reach the head when I tried to prime the black nozzle, so it must have leaked via a seal. If I would try again, Epoxy is the only glue that would be waterproof and work to an unbreakable seal imo. The Chinese seem to sell reconditioned printerheads so maybe it's worth a try. I broke the ribbon cable to the injectors so just going to buy a 2nd hand better model. This printer head wf2630 L320 etc... is known to be poorer build quality than the heads on the wf2750 etc...

    Hi, there was one day the black colour print with empty straight line, then second page started have nothing and the third page gone worse and worse, eventually got nothing. While the colour are alright. I then use the epson software, use ink to clean the nozzle and printhead. After serveral attempt and I think it uses too much ink and still got no improvement, I google and follow some video from youtube to clean the printhead. I open the printer while still got electricity because I want to move the printhead into the position where I could access it. Then I forgot to switch it off, and I spray the alcohol into the printhead, kitchen towel underneath above the sponge but under the printhead, shake it and wipe it and then water, shake it and wipe it. the kitchen towel have coloured liquid and I took it out and I blow it dry. But then my printer never turn on again. I wonder could you be able to identify my problems and is there anyway I could save its life.

    • @viandant5
      @viandant5  3 года назад +1

      Spray alcohol in the print-head is not a good idea. I think there is a short circuit in the electronic circuits of the print-head. You may try to change print-head but it's not sure the printer works again

      Olá, provavelmente queimou os dois transistores da placa lógica, por sorte são fa ei de trocar, e parece que são de baixo custo, talvez também tenha queimado o F1(pequeno fusível smd), e neste caso se nso for possível adquirí-lo você terá que soldar a peça fazendo uma conexão entre os terminais. O terceiro componente é o CI da Epson, depois vejo o nome e te falo, ele não precisa ser gravado e também é de fácil aquisição. MAS, veja bem, se você trocar os componentes da placa e tentar usar o cabeçote de impressão que queimou os três componentes podem queimar novamente.
