Your installation of the vent fan was excellently detailed and right on! I wish we would have found the proper installation you show before investing in a new LG dryer because of the d80 error. 😢.
New house but HVAC guy did not add the pressure hose so the fan was not activating. Now it is!
Also your corrected drill hole size for the tube was spot on. Great snug fit. Instructions were totally wrong.
Clothes are drying fast as ever! Thank you thank you!

Great video. I have installed about 15 of these in our custom homes. I always install the lint trap in laundry room and not in attic. They need to be cleaned every couple loads. Good job.

We have walk in access to our attic so its not an issue to check the lint trap, but if we didn't I'd put it where you could easily clean it.

Brother! I've now done 3 of these installs, and they have all gone differently yet successful. A lot of units don't have a lint trap and that caused leaks 😅 we are cooking now

I enjoyed watching you do this! I followed your steps, albeit I had no access from the attic because it was in a high-rise apartment on the beach. Why they removed the booster fan during the remodel?? Is beyond me 😅 fun times

Excellent video, incredibly helpful for my install! I saw that most of those secondary lint traps aren’t recommended for gas dryers so I did not install one with mine. Do you think this will cause issues?

Not sure about a gas dryer. Ours is electric. I added the secondary link trap because it was obvious by the amount of link accumulating in the roof vent that the dryer link trap was not doing the job.

Do I have to clean that filter for this to work? I don't want to have to climb into my attic to clean this...

Thanks for this comprehensive install video! Remodeling and our dryer vent is going to have to go up through the roof. Think I’m going to have to install one of these

Glad it helped. It is working great for us. We no longer get the error on the dryer and my wife says the clothes dry much faster. I just have to keep an eye on the lint trap to be sure its cleaned regularly.

My instructions say to mount the rubber grommets against the house framing to eliminate vibration, not where the fan itself sits.

So glad you made this video. I am assembling a make up air system. Unfortunately, the Fantech MUAS1200 is discontinued. So I am buying individual components like the fan from from fantech and filterbox from air infinity. Why didn’t you use the second FG clamp to connect the duct to the filterbox? Just curious. Thank you!

I didn't use the clamps I bought because they just seemed like overkill. They are very sturdy, but once I got all of the fan mounted it was stable enough and I thought the tape would be just fine.

Can you share the info you found about the pressure switch because I have to install my fan horizontally?

Try this link. It is to the installation .PDF file. Page two talked about the pressure switch location options. Let me know if this helps.

What is the clear hose tubbing for?

    • @thistlehillfarmstead9131
      @thistlehillfarmstead9131  Год назад

The clear hose is for the pressure sensor. One end connects to the sensor and the other goes into the vent pipe. When the dryer is turned on pressure builds in the vent pipe and thus in the clear tube telling the fan to turn on. And vise versa, when the dryer turns off the pressure in the vent pipe goes down and the fan will turn off.

Too long. All I wanted was to see where you drilled the hole for the sensor.
